I need a smotherwing butterfly for my compendium so I can farm them. Where do I go look? I can't find them in death mountain.

Have you been finding the koroks? There are a ton of puzzles to do if you pay attention to your surroundings.

I'm not sure most of the Korok ones can be classified as puzzles; once you get to know the types, its more about noticing them in the environment than solving them. I guess its one big worldly puzzle!

The best ones I've found so far were in the snowy mountains by Hateno, still not really puzzles but they were challenging!

Do resistances from clothing pieces stack or do you need the whole set for increased effectiveness?

They stack.

I was trying to be smart and set a normal arrow on fire near a camp site.

Ended up not paying attention and set the grass around me on fire and I died.

Where the fuck is Korok forest? I desperately need more inventory spots.

This was basically my entire day.... For what it's worth I did find the inventory guy a second time at one of the first stables you hit after the starting area (assuming you went towards the Castle when you jumped off). I was able to get 4 or 5 more slots from him before he finally remembered how to get home and gave a helpful clue on which direction to explore.

Skyrim will be a 6 year old game by then, which has already been on 5 different platforms. It means nothing.

No, I get that. I couldn't actually care less about it since I don't like Skyrim much, but I was asking more because of it being a big Western AAA release. Just curious to see how they approach it.

Any ideas when we'll get some performance patches? Playing the Wii U version and I thought the game straight up froze as it just started to hang on a single frame with no audio for a couple seconds mid combat. It froze during a jump attack, unfroze for a split second, froze again, unfroze and froze again and a few seconds later Link finally landed back on the ground.

This is just... never, in a million years, would I have expected this from a Nintendo game :\

whew

pretty much spent the entire day finding the rest of towers and doing shrines I ran into while exploring...just now completed the entire map. I really was not expecting the world to be this large.

I've only done one dungeon so far in the 3 days I've had it....tomorrow I'll start really diving into the main quests and side stuff.

A question on a Hateno shrine quest
A woman told me to go up to the
three trees at the snowy mountain, and when three trees are unified as a line, turn my back and walk towards the sea, when I traveled all the way to the sea I only saw a stone cave and a seed puzzle where you roll a stone into a hole
Just need a yes or no here, am I close to the shrine?

Can someone help? Thanks guys!

No, you clearly don't get it. It's not a "big Western AAA release", it's a 6 year old pity port.

Guys...

What does BotW mean for the Skyrim release in Fall? The DLC for BotW drops around the same time. Having played both games I feel like BotW is better by several orders of magnitude.

I hope Skyrim Switch has dedicated HD Rumble and maybe motion control features. That could set it apart.

Yeah, Zelda has raised the bar for open world games. I hope devs can look at Zelda's many successes and find ways to apply them to their IPs.

Just remembered you could use amiibo with this game. Got myself Epona, Wolf Link, and a Twlight Bow. How does this stuff work? Is Epona mine forever? I also noticed the bow had a diamond symbol next to it, does that mean it's unbreakable?

You need to take Epona to a stable in order to keep her forever.

If you don't put epona in the stable you lose her forever.

Yeah, reading how other people handled the
Zora's Domain

Waterblight Ganon
, is very interesting. Did anyone else
use stasis to send an ice block back into his face?
I thought that was a pretty cool way to tackle him.

...ok. I agree that it's not a truly high-profile release given the venerable nature of the game.

I am just wondering what their intentions are here. Why release at all unless there is something that differentiates it?

Am I shitty at timing or can you not shield parry melee attacks, only ranged attacks? Should I have been going for perfect dodges this whole time?

Gliding over baddies and then dropping the weapon hit on them is so satisfying. Has me going "oooooh yeah!" like the Macho Man dropping the big elbow off the top rope.

Also, throwing a damaged weapon at them is great too.

I'm hoarding cool unique weapons and I've run out of space. Time to start using some.

It would be wise to use them on actually tough enemies like Major Challenge Shrines. As I've said before this is the one part of the game I actively dislike because I actively avoid combat when my inventory is filled with unique powerful weapons. Being able to repair a weapon for a hefty sum and placing breakable weapons into broken weapon bin instead of having it take up space would alleviate this issue and still allow for the intended experimentation with new weapons during combat scenarios. It just means that when you're in a spot of high level enemies you don't have to grind/search for an arsenal of higher level weapons.

I adore this game but it's definitely not for everyone. It demands a far broader skill set than most games will ever demand of their players but I think there's a couple issues.

To play devil's advocate for a bit on the durability controversy (I'm on the side that really likes it), technically Durability stops you from killing the most powerful enemies with the weakest weapons in the game. In this sort of manner, it runs into a not dissimilar issue I had with Dragon's Dogma and that's how Gear limits your skill potential. Even if you can defeat an enemy with a rusty sword in theory without durability, the durability mechanic will prevent you from succeeding every time in reality.

To compare to Dark Souls technically you can defeat any enemy in that game at base level 1 without any need to upgrade ever. It's incredibly difficult but it is doable and that's not really something I can do in this game which is a shame that lowers the potential skill divide between players.

Found some
wild wolves.
Thought I could tame them, so I dropped a bunch of food in front of them as a peace offering. They went around the pile of food and ganged up on me. So I ran, right into a pack of Skeleton Moblins.

I died.

I didn't even think to do this. Smart.

Thanks, I've yet to actually register any horse at a stable. I'm guessing it costs rupees?

The (super) uniques are fixable, I guess.

It's just literally somewhere close to the southeast edge of the map before you reach the shoreline lol. Just go straight south of Hateno until you arrive at the beach.

Really? Wow. I've spent a dozen hours or so in that portion of the world map and haven't come across this yet. This game is ridiculously huge.

I did, mainly because I had no bows on me. Took me awhile to figure it out, because I was getting rekt with an odd combination of Cryostasis and bombs. It was only when
Mipha said "If only there was a way to use ice as a weapon"
that it clicked and I felt so clever. xD

Just did the
Elephant Divine Beast
dungeon and I swear to god if that wasn't some of the coolest shit I've seen and did in a videogame. If the
four
dungeons are that good I'm fucking DOWN. The way the music would change as you progress, the design, the puzzles-- it was just fascinating to me.

And how you can see the outside from within, thus the time of day effect and everything that comes along with it, day, night, sunlight, moonlight, whatever light creeping through the openings... it's just so beautiful. Sure it's lacking keys and finding a cool new item and there wasn't many enemies at all, but that was still one hell of a great dungeon. Again, if the others are that good, I'm going to be extremely satisfied.

And the shrines keep getting better too. I was afraid due to the number of dungeons and that they're shorter, and while that's true, the design was phenomenal and incredibly imaginative, and some of the puzzles had me stumped for a bit. I'd say I was in there close to as long as many of the dungeons in previous ones.

I just used Cryonis to instantly remove his ice blocks (as if they were made by me). Was shocked to see it worked!
