While I'm close to using a guide right now, the sense of discovery in this game is astounding. Reading a map after getting a hint to recover a memory is statisying.

For you guys who have messed around in the castle when you have no business being there yet, like I'm doing right now, will you keep the good gear you grabbed if you go to the map and select to leave the area?

Yes.
Also that gear is enough to beat the game of you decide to push forward.

I love all the emergent stuff in this, even the simple things. There's a wooden box, I don't wanna waste my weapon durability to break it and I'm too lazy to use the bombs, so I push it to the fire right next to it...

...it starts to burn, and then suddenly, the rain pours. Fire put out, only smoke is left. WELP, bomb it is!

Does anyone know what the reward tiers are for the deer hunting mini-game? I killed five and only got a measly blue Rupee as a reward. =/

So I brought the two pen pals from Zora's Domain and the mouth of the river together and
did I just get Nowi'd? I expected this quest to end with them laughing it off but now I've got a 18-20something year old dude dating a decades old Zora that looks like she's 12. I talked to her mother but she seems fine with this.

For those of you who are slightly annoyed with the weapon durability and also conflicted as to whether or not to use your tokens for stamina or hearts: go hearts all the way, thank me later.

I asked this before but I didn't get a reply, does the main quest take you to the whole map or is it just
the four places of the Divine beasts and then Gabon?

Well, I made the mistake of going to the Lost Woods after going to Zora's Domain...

Now I am totally obsessed with finding enough shrines, to get enough hears, to get the Master Sword before doing anything else.

Spent all day searching for them. Only need 8 more shrines.

Are they near Zoras Domain?

Anyone know where I can find a Goron who's name ends in "-son"? I haven't been to Death Mountain yet but I've been just about everywhere else in the game, so if he's in the Death Mountain region just say "somewhere around there" and I'll keep it in mind. Otherwise I'd like to just know where he's at.

Got my third stamina upgrade. Think this should be a decent amount for now, but I kind of want two more to finish the second ring haha.

Finally found some horses. Can I just jump on and ride them, is it as easy as that?

Yes, but you have to take them to a stable to register them, otherwise they'll disappear.

Ok. So I just go next to them and jump on them?

God damnit im stuck and could use a hint. But I dont want someone to tell me exactly what to do. Just point me in the right direction.

Im in the
water temple and just hit the button to get me the waterfall shortcut so that I can go to the top.
But now I have no clue what to do it. Ive tried
moving the tusk to every position
but I cant figure out what to do.

Lore wise this game is all about the Sheikah.

They went from lost ninja civilization with a sole remaining member to having a monopoly as technical innovators in ALL of Hyrule. I wonders whats the meaning about this symbol or if BotW explains it,considering you see it all the time.

Quick question about Hestu

After he leaves the Stable, does he actually go to the Lost Woods or he does he end up somewhere else? I want to expand my inventory but I don't want to travel to the Lost Woods yet.

This game isn't gonna kill Xenoblade X for me is it? Never got around to that game because I barely even started Xenoblade Chronicles. Are they fundamentally different?

How do you do that?
I followed the lanterns/torches to two lanterns and then wasn't really able to get any farther without the fog taking over.

I ended up buying this digitally on wii U last night , saved myself 400$ I don't need to spend on a switch (not that I can find one anyway). Feels like I've only just scratched the surface of this new hyrule.

For now the biggest problem seems to be how hard it is to come by money short of selling half the stuff you pick up on the way. The weapon durability is a neat idea but it's easy to clog up ones inventory with a ton of low durability weapons , the last section I did I ended up getting into maybe 5 battles ? 4 weapons broke. I mean, it is what it is , but I kind of wish if they were going this route that you had far more inventory space off the bat. It's a minor annoyance and I'm assuming the further one gets into the game the stronger the weapons get.. I would have preferred fewer weapon drops with 5-10 times the durability and the ability to repair or even a cool down timer just to not have to worry about it as much. It's hardly a deal breaker.

The other complaint I see tossed at this game is the frame rate. Is it bad ? yeah it's really truly bad at some points. Not unplayable awful mind you but it's distracting I guess ?

Thing is , I'm having enough fun running around the world that I don't even mind these issues.

I should also add that for the first time since 1998 I'm mildly stumped by what I actually have to do right now in game.

He follows Lake Hylia a bit before ending up there.

Sheikah is a flavored transliteration of the Japanese name which is a transliteration of the English word Seeker. So I think the symbol is just the all seeing eye indicating the search for knowledge?

played at a friend's house and overwrote his save files because we didn't realize there is only one per game . . .

other than that the game is fun, made it to the end in under two hours but didn't have any equip to actually try to finish the game lol

Holy shit this GTA style "follow the dude but don't be seen" quest is fucking infuriating. This is one case where Nintendo needs to get out of their bubble and realize everyone hates these.

Ohhh makes sense i didn't knew that :p,supposed it could be like red bird on the shields wich latter they somehow implied to be the huge birds on Skyloft

they improved the archery but the combat is brain dead outside the environment and difficulty

Considering I'm generally thinking out my plans a lot of the time, I'm going to disagree a bit. It's not bayonetta level of manic complexity, but Riposte put it best earlier in the thread in that most encounters in the game have clever solutions which are fun. I'd hardly call that brain dead.
