I figured that one out, but it was a non-red pinwheel. The glowing red pinwheels seem to have a different mechanic to them that I haven't figured out.

Hmm... maybe I didn't hang out for long enough, then?
Ah, I think I came across a pinwheel like that.

Someone in here said use a korok leaf to blow wind to make the pinwheel spin. I'm sure I tried that with little success though.

Got to the top of the mountain above
Zora's Domain
last night. For the 30th time on this page that approach was so good. I banged my head against the monster at the top last night and have no clue how I'm going to beat him after work tonight.
!!!

That was a hell of a fight to do at 6 hearts but thankfully I went prepared with buff elixirs and 2 good weapons that I was hoarding for like 4 hours lol

Also it helped that I already fought one of them somewhere else.

This may be the best game I've ever played but the text is bothering me so much. The switch in typography all the time is really awful.
Can you give an example? I've got over 20 hours in and I have not noticed this at all.

I love the tower music. It's so peaceful and relaxing, yet slightly haunting at the same time. It reminds me a bit of Koh Otani's work in Shadow of the Colossus, actually.
The music in general is fucking AMAZING. Brilliant applied in all use-cases. Arguably some of the best sound design in a game ever.

Still can't kill those dudes. I just went elsewhere and bought what I needed to.

You need to stand on it (or super close). Its not anywhere around, there is always a specofic spot to stand on.

don't be holding metal weapons/shields during lightning storms -- you'll be hit (though there is a bit of warning with the zapping -- if that happens drop the weapon)

Not just swords and shields but I can confirm bows too, and possibly armor. During a storm any equipment that will attract lightning will be coursing with electricity

Could someone enlighten me and tell me how to get the second treasure chest in the
Bosh Kala
shrine? I cannot figure out how to get high enough or get enough momentum.

This thread is huge and I'm afraid to read most of it due to how everyone can see something different. I am a massive zelda fan, my favorite franchise, the best in gaming; im I the only Zelda fan kind of missing the old ways. The gameplay is brilliant, some of the best I've ever seen, the crazy stuff I have done is remarkable. The world is gorgeous but maybe too big. I miss the careful smaller but filled with activities of past zeldas. I miss seeing things I can't reach and later having a new item that adds a whole new gameplay element which allows me access to it. I miss mini games being tied to heart pieces and upgrades.

And I for sure miss dungeons, I have played 30 hours and I am just ready to do my first but I already know it won't be anything like the dungeons I love. In any other zelda game 30 hours in I would have done like 3 or 4 of them already. The shrines are great but even those feel disjointed and like something out of portal more than Zelda.

But yeah this game is amazing in its own way. The stuff I have discovered has blown my mind, like an island way out in the ocean which gave me one of the best gameplay moments this gen. The crazy ways to fight enemies or escape harrowing situations. The way everything about this world is alive and interactable, the total antithesis to witcher 3s static world. The way puzzles don't have just one solution.

This is MGSV all over again. A bold new direction with modern impeccable gameplay, the best the genre has ever seen but at the cost of removing the parts of what made the franchise special.

I still have a ton to go so obviously I can still fall deeply in love but for now I am kind of confused, I love what I am playing but its not scratching that zelda itch.

I hate dungeons. I wish there were none at all. The last one I did (gerudo divine spirit dungeon) was utter nonsense and in no way fun

To make things easier to keep an eye out for koroks here is a list on their puzzles.

1. Under a rock/a rock under burnable leaves
2. Dive into a circle
3. Complete the rock circle
4. Find/catch the green sparkle
5. Target or Pinwheel challenges
6. Reach the goal challenges.
7. Various 'hole in one' challenges.
8. Metal structure puzzles.

I miss any?

You forgot
leaving matching fruit in offering spaces

I'm trying to figure out who had stolen Impa's orb in town, and both the shop keep and the plum tree woman are out as potential subjects. Thought it was one of the guards, and nothing has turned up there.

Any tips?

If I cook something and it shows a heart with a five by it and another heart, does that mean it regenerates six hearts?

Saw a similar question asked earlier but this thread moves so quickly.

Also, does anyone have a recipe using the goat butter. I also have milk, assuming they accompany one another.

Played this game all weekend. I don't even know how to express how awesome this game is without using hyperbole. I'll just say it'll be included in game design classes/studies in the future without a doubt. The game just oozes fun, mystery, surprise, adventure, you name it.

Man the wind divine beast was great. That's my favourite so far.
the boss was really really easy though

Yes.

Is there a confirmation on wich timeline this takes place?

I guess
Child

Correct, but so far into the future the concept of the time line is made pretty redundant. All of the other games are within a few hundred years of one another at most.

So I'm about 7 or 8 hours in and I was honestly not understanding the reviews when I was on the Great Plateau but once I left it, holy shit. I explored and made my way to Kakariko and now I've done all the quests/shrines I could
find up until this point. I think I'm going to head north to try and find Korok village so I can spend all the Korok seeds I have.

This game reminds me so much of the feelings I had when I was playing vanilla WoW for the first time.

Yup, the only game that ever came close to this feeling was vanilla WoW where the world was immense and varied and it was fun just running around finding new areas. But even in that game I was in a rush to get to max level, here I just never want it to end. I will say that one easy way to expand the scope of this game is just to have more dungeons or indoor locations, they don't even have big or even tie to the story.

I wonder what game developers think of this game. Is it more like, "oh of course, everything is so obvious now on what we should do", or is it like, "everything fits so perfectly together it's hard to imagine how this game was made".

I'm not that far into the game (maybe 12 hours), but I'm REALLY enjoying it.
I do like how the world is s huge, but is it maybe too huge?
I think I'd prefer a smaller, more dense world than the sprawling, nearly empty world we got here. It has it's draws, but it's kind of a chore getting around, even with fast travel locations. I wish your horse could fast-travel with you.
