I kinda want to use amiibo for stuff but I also feel like it's cheating if I use them.

Am I being a crazy person and overthinking it?

Bought and completely upgraded the
house in Hateno
which may or may not have been an impulse buy to help me forget about the loss of my beloved Horse.

The music there is my absolute favorite in the game so far. Almost makes the death bearable :'(

It needs to stop raining. This is a pretty terrible mechanic.

Make it stop by finding a dry place, making a campfire, and resting for a bit.

What is there to do about the rain? It rains very often, and when I'm in the middle of climbing all I can do is wait on a ledge and stand still until it stops. Leaving and coming back later is generally a waste of time because there's a good chance it will simply start raining on that try as well.

Not exactly riveting.

There's one area
Zora's Domain
where it will always be raining until you complete a certain event. But otherwise you can wait out the rain. Hold some flint and wood, drop it, strike it with a metal weapon to make a fire (under cover so the rain doesn't put it out). And just wait until morning

Me:"Um let's explore this
solitaire island with a dungeon
"

I have to say, I never thought I'd hear someone say this.

I mean, it legitimately just throws you right into the world.

You can't leave the Plateau until you do the first 4 shrines and getting anywhere takes a bunch of time with such low stamina, no horse, and no paraglider. It might as well be a tutorial level.

I just finished the game. All memories, Master Sword in hand and over 69 Shrines finished. It was an epic rush and battle.

A note: The game autosaves right before the final battle and you can reload that save after the credits, it has a little STAR on the save and load screen to show that you've finished the story on the save.

Which means you cannot play in the world after the events of the end of the story but you can play right before that after you've finished and just keep exploring and finishing shrines for the foreseeable future... oh and Koroks all those Koroks.

I learned something about horses on my travels today
A traveler in Faron Woods told me a rumour about a fairy that can revive horses. Haven't found her yet though.

Any tips on how to stop horses bucking you off? Been trying to capture a cool looking black one for half an hour

press L faster, that's all.

Oh wow that's all there is to it? I'd been trying to time pressing L, trying to roll the analog stick with the direction it's throwing me around in and everything. Thanks!

I ran into a streaming issue twice so far. When gliding a long distance the game simply completely paused for 3-4 seconds and then resumed. Not a frame rate drop. It just totally stopped for a few seconds.

I wish there were more environmental based enemies/enemies in general. Not a big fan of having mostly moblins/bokoblins everywhere.

Does anyone else just feel brainless with these dungeons? I'm at
the camel in Gerudo desert
and just kinda stumped with the gimmick.

It's just a bunch of consumables and a slight chance to get a special exclusive item. But most of the time it's just fire arrows or a low tier sword.

And those special exclusive items aren't game breaking. I have 2/3 of the Hero of Time pieces and they have the same stats as early game armor you can buy in Kakariko. Also they don't really match anything else, so I don't bother wearing them.

Epona is really the only amiibo reward I'd consider actually kind of cheating.

I love the environmental story telling in this game. It makes finding new locations even more rewarding to me.
Like all the Guardians outside Hateno fort. It's easy to tell that there was a major battle and that a lot of Guardians were destroyed trying to get over the wall. As you continue you learn that Hateno was largely unaffected.

So, I got to the
Akkala Ancient Tech Lab
and the guy there said he wanted to see
the 100 year old wounds
before he would speak with me.

Is that tied into
finding the memories? Do I need to find all of them?

Not being able to dye the cover art clothing is disappointing.

I wanted to dye it green...

I ended up making it work though. Brown hood + tan knight armor leggings and the entire outfit looks really great and perfect for adventuring. Too bad though, I wanted to actually use my Hero of Time/Twilight/Winds hats I managed to get and not have them clash horribly.

Argh, I need one more Ancient Core to upgrade stasis. I got 2 from random chests in shrines, but there's gotta be another "for sure" way to get one more.

(Also, I probably can't kill one of those large guardians yet). Any ideas guys?

Link has the wound regardless of memory, you just need a way to show it to him

I think my favorite moment thus far was in Zora's Domain.

As part of the main quest, when they talked about getting Shock Arrows, I was like, I just bought a ton of those! I sure hope I don't have to go on this quest to get more. And sure enough, at the end of that convo, Sidon was like, "Whoops! You've already got some! If you need more, go to the place and get more though!"

I love when the game notices stuff like that.

Grab the best weapons you can and go learn how to kill a guardian.

They drop them like a pinata, and once you figure them out they are easy to kill.
