I really enjoy these shrines, there like bite sized dungeons. But some do make me feel stupid, though. Right now, I'm stuck at this one. Can someone tell me whether or not my solution is correct or not? I want to solve it for myself so please don't tell me the solution. Just whether or not I'm doing it right:

Dont have the name of the shrine with me right now. The shrine contains a pool. In the pool are three orbs. There's dish on a raised platform with a fence around it. I believe one of the orbs needs to go over the fence and into the dish, in order to lower the water or open a gate in the room.

What I'm doing is using the cryo (ice cube maker) module to get an orb out of the pool. Then I freeze the orb in time with the stasis module, and hit it until the directional arrow turns red. However, every time the orb unfreezes it shoots against the fence, never over it.
Am I doing it wrong? Should I go about this differently?
Just use the dish to pick up a ball.

Wow im an idiot. So im busy going for my first divine beast
elephant
. Little did i realise i could break ice blocks with cyonis! So i depleted my shock arrow stock basically destryong all of these ice blocks and gaining entrance. Finally clicked when i was fighting
waterblight ganon
that i could use this ability to break those ice blocks. Fight would have been much easier otherwise. Ha!

................Damnit

Exactly my thoughts haha
This is me too, but fortunately I'd stocked up on arrows. I still feel like a dummy lol

Yeah this is the only thing that makes me happy, I had like 100+ arrows so using those wasn't too bad.

I spent forever trying to maneuver with the
Zora
I was riding on. I thought my controller had stopped working.

It took me a few minutes and a death to figure it out.

You have it all wrong, my friend. (If I'm remembering the right shrine)

The idea is
to take the dish and use it as a scoop.

So the further I am in the game, the easier I feel it gets, or am I just not doing in the dangerous spots?

Also, Lynels. Holy shit, Lynels don't mess around. They will fuck you up.
That should be the intention behind it. You should feel more powerful as time goes on.

I also didn't know how to destroy those ice blocks you're all talking about, it drove me crazy trying to hit them with my sword, then I took a quick look in my strategy guide and immediately felt like an idiot.

This is the only game with a weapon durability system I haven't hated. Although sometimes I do wish things had just a bit more durability.

It can be a pain, but then you get into a fight where you plan out who to take out first with your low durability weapons, so you can get their weapons and take out the rest of them, and it becomes kind of fun.

You're using the wrong Runes. Try another one.

It is too easy by the time you've found about 80 shrines, though. Still harder than any other 3D Zelda, but too easy by comparison to what it's like at first.

At this stage the only enemies who cause me problems are
white-maned or silver lynels
. Everything else is a piece of piss. You've got so many tools at this stage... You have
auto-ressurrect, fly out of danger, total shield guard and mega lightning abilities.
If you can't handle enemies given all of those tools... I don't know what to say.

Also, once you learn how to dodge or parry for flurry rush the windows for those seem a bit big. I'd love hard mode to reduce those windows.

Ran into a
Zora
last night in a swamp-like area, so I guess I'm headed towards
Zora's Domain
now. Fought a little area boss,
Hinox
, which was amazing - even if it wasn't a super difficult fight, it felt incredibly dynamic.
I'd run and gain some ground/distance, turn around and use Stasis+ to temporarily freeze him so I could shoot his eye/throw something in it. Felt like Dio, freezing time and throwing blades. It was incredible.

Enjoying the game. Playing pro hud. Works well.

A couple of things I wish were available.

More collection lists. Such as:
Recipes
Items
Weapons and armor
Enemies defeated with drops

Also, way to see horses.

I think the game does this maybe on purpose. Make you focus on current survival, Not collection.

Also, dont like multiple save files. Give me classic zelda file screen with progress. :p

Lol. I feel kinda guilty for getting the 20 lightning arrows without taking out the enemy. Kinda dumb luck as in the frenzy of the fight I grabbed like 4 arrows from a tree and then the quest line updated.

I'll come back to defeat it later. Already spent like 30 minutes getting my ass handed.

In French Sidon give you a strong hint that you need a special way to destroy the blocks, do people overlooked it, or is it not as obvious in English?

Adorable my ass. I pray that when I pick up a rock one appears just so I can throw a rock at him and hear his 'ow' with the thud lmao

I do this every time lol. I mash 'B' to get the conversation overwith, and when it transitions back to gameplay I'm still hitting the button, making Link drop the rock right on the wee guys head. Cracks me up every time.

Holy shit I'm an idiot. I finished the divine beast now and I didn't use cyonis once in combat, in fact i forget most of the time you can use the Sheika slate in combat

Thankfully I only wasted most of my normal arrows. But goddamn does that make me feel stupid.

Did you unlocked the compendium? You've to fill it by taking photos.

Loving this game so much! Finished my second Dungeon/Divine Beast last night. One of my favorite things to do after finishing something big is to just start exploring and get lost. Nintendo has created an open world that is massive and vibrant. There's so many little things to discover and do.

The Blood Moon appeared just as I was finishing up on Eventide Island. Had I delayed another 10 minutes that last section would have been frustrating.
I'd spent the last 20 minutes or so stealthily taking out all the moblins and was in the process of removing the cover from the orb pedestal.

I wish that using the tracking system didn't involve you taking pictures but simply acquiring the item. It sucks when you have a small creature that runs away when they see you and are hard to catch. I don't want to remove them from my pack and try to run to get the picture taken before they run away

Did this last night for a Tireless Frog. Had two in my inventory but I lost both just taking pictures. Finally got the leg of one and it counted, though.

Lol @ guys not remembering to use Crionis to shatter ice blocks. That was evident to me...though on my way to the Death Mountain Divine Beast
I used the cannons to take care of the flying sentinels at every ocassion I could. I thought it was an awful mechanic because you have to shoot as the cannons are turning and it´s really hard to get the shot right. BTW, I thought the cannons were only for that, so I didn´t shoot the Divine Beast not even once. When I reached the last cannon I couldn´t continue as the beast hadn´t moved around the mountain, so I spent almost an hour going around the mountain not knowing what to do. It´s not like the Goron chieff and Daruk´s grandson repeatedly tell you many times that they use the cannons to shoot at the beast :S
/s

I met him once on the road to Kakariko, after that I didn't see him again until I got to the Korok Woods. He's just sat there permanently now.

He appeared on the road to Kakariko, then next to a stable and haven´t found him since. I´m going to follow the path to the Forest, maybe I´ll find him again along the way. He said he was lost the last time I met him, so I suppose you may find him in different locations until you reach the forest.

Spoiler about a shrine quest:

Anyone that has solved the master of the wind quest? i've broke all the rocks with the bombs but now what? do i need some special object?

Re weapon durability

The Mastwr Sword can get repowered but honestly it's a pretty op weapon and I've gotten it before doing the beasts. It's understandable the limits they put on it when it's vastly lopsided

You think that's bad?

I had just finished an all out battle against the monsters on the mountain, used up half of my weapon, and fell down the cliff. It starts to rain and I say, fuck it, I'll rest by the fire and climb back up in the morning.

NOPE! Blood Moon.

I just ended up taking out the guys with bows and running in circles to avoid the melee dudes.

Question regarding
Vah Ruta
, I didn't activate the Sheikah slab before I left the area. How do I get into the dungeon now? I've tried climbing, swimming, even talking to Sidon.

You break all the bombs and then you use it to glide too the orange pad.

i folded and got the game lol. i preordered the switch so i could sell it for profit. saw the reviews for Zelda and now im hooked

Jesus, just finished up that island in the
southeast
. I am IN LOVE with this game
Going all Robinson Crusoe and having my equipment taken away, surviving a full day of thunderstorms, stealthing my way through the moblin camp, snatching the orb from dat fucking Hinox
, it was all such an amazing experience. And a blood moon came out right after I finished, so I got to kill everybody all over again! The awesome minigame that opened up afterwards with that lovely music was just the perfect cherry on top.

I must have played for at least 25 hours, but I haven't even laid eyes on the first dungeon yet (although I did have a whack at Hyrule castle and got to the boss). BotW is consuming me.

I love this game. I really like the side quests that don't show up in your quest log. The first example I found was on the Great Plateau
with the book in the woodcutter's cabin
. The next one I found, earlier this morning, was
a stone referencing the Zora helm
. Figuring out the solutions to these is super satisfying.

Hah I actually had the blood moon come up about 20 seconds after I killed a black Hinox, and apparently I was standing where he was to respawn, so I was within him for a second. That's one of the only two "open world bugs" I've ever seen in this game. The other was me picking up a moblin arm which appeared on my back at all times, even after it nearly broke and I threw it away. Had to restart the game to get rid of that one.

You're using the wrong Runes. Try another one.

I will as soon as I get home. But are you suggesting I use the magnet module? Because those orbs are only sensitive to the stasis module. That is, I thought I could lop them over with the magnet beam, no dice. And I've tried freezing them in time and blowing them up. But they keep bouncing off the fence.

I thought it activates in a cutscene, you should be able to warp to it. If you've tried that already I've got no idea.

just realized i made a big mistake by going on my own after kakriko village..missed all the updates of the sheikah slate, only got them now but when i think about all the things i would have already put in the compendium...
