Guys, I need help with a very crucial decision (lol)

I really want to be wearing a traditional tunic, and so far I haven't found it in the game. I know you can have a chance at unlocking some through Amiibo, but I haven't opened any of my Amiibo apart from Smash Bros. Mario and Link. I used the Link one already without knowing you got Epona, and lost her because I just didn't even think about registering her at a stable. And I don't even think I was close to one.

Anyway, I have a share of Amiibo still in the packaging, but I really want to take them out and use them on this game just to see what all I can get. I've seen some really cool Amiibo display with them taken out of the package and was just wondering what everyone else thought about doing this, if I should keep them packaged or if it'd be cooler to take them out, actually use them in games and come up with a neat display for them all.

Take them out of the box, use the thing you paid for. They look much nicer out of the packaging than in it, imo.

I can usually still find a way to make it up whatever I'm scaling even when it is raining. You just gotta push. I also have tons of stamina now so... That's probably it.

Resell them for £100 on Amazon like everybody else.

If you want a green tunic you can just keep scanning your Link one, it gives the Twilight Princess outfit.
There's also one for beating all shrines.

Gaf!
I have emerged from cryo-sleep from the only thing that could possibly wake me from my deep deep slumber. An open world Zelda! I just got my switch and the game. One question my good friends. Before I fire this up are you playing it mostly docked or out of dock mode?

Looks like I just accidently beat the game >.<

I was looking for that one memory location in what I assumed was Castle Hyrule, entered a building and BAM boss fight. Must have taken me about an hour o.O

Thank Hylia for Mipha's Prayer

I would take them out of the box, they take up much less room out of the box, plus you can actually use their functionality.

The amiibos wont give you the breath of the wild green tunic, you will get the green tunic from other zelda games.

Maybe what you want is
to finish al shirines

I have to be the oddball here. I have not played my Switch yet in docked mode.

Yeah, I think I agree with this.

By then I'll be like done with the game probably :p I'll still do it but I want one asap.

I really thought I would hate weapon durability in the game. I am surprised that it has not negatively had an impact on the game for me. I actually like that I am forced to cycle through weapons and pick things up in the middle of multi mob fights.

Holy shit.

That person who made the thread about playing without the HUD wasn't joking.

This game is bloody glorious without the HUD!!! So playable, so beautiful, feels even more loose and explorational than usual - truly feels like Shadow of the Colossus or something.

Then scan your Link one from the Smash series...you can have a full outfit right now.

I have for the past few days, only got Epona the first time and junk after that :( will try again today though. I'm probably going to open some of my others here in a bit to see what I can get. I have most of the Zelda ones.

Spoiler tagging in case you want to discover on your own:

When you block an arrow with a wooden shield, it's added to your inventory when you lower your shield. I found a low level bokoblin camp on the great plateau and positioned myself between 2 archers. Only took a few minutes to get 50 arrows.

Does anyone know if there's a cap on arrows you can hold?

That is awesome. Now you have to answer your own question for the rest of us.

Docked. I played it a bit in handheld mode and it's great as well.

Save scum it. Save before tapping and reload if you don't get the piece you need.

Also it's based off of system clock at midnight so you can just go in and change it until you have the set.

Same - I love weapon durability in this game. It was merely an annoyance in, for instance, Bloodborne - but in Breath of the Wild the fast pace of weapon degradation really forces you to keep your combat strategy varied and experiment with different weapons.

I hope some people being closed minded about it doesn't cause them to remove the mechanic in the next game. It's a bold design choice and I am really enjoying it.

Not sure what happened, but I've seem to have lost my
Hylian Shield
. How can I get another?

You can't get another one in the game unless you
buy the house from Bolson, do the entire follow up quest with Hudson and purchase it from Robbie's son for 3000 rupees.

It was always, absolutely, 100% bogus.

The only game that ever had a big turnaround in public opinion was Wind Waker because of the awful reaction to the reveal and then how well the visuals aged so well with time.

There's a group of Zelda fans for every game who dislike it, but it's not like their opinions change as a new reveal comes out, it's just which group people decide to listen to changes. That's all it ever was.

The Zelda game I've always disliked, for example, is LttP. Disappointed me on release day as a huge fan of the first two, and disappointed me every time since. Proof that fir every Zelda game no matter how sacred you'll find a group that doesn't like it.

Agreed. Mind you, I do believe it's possible for someone to change their opinions on a particular title as their tastes mature over time (as I did on WW, but that was also a result of the HD remaster fixing my issues with sailing and the triforce quest which made me look at the game much, much more favorably), but this notion that a large portion of the Zelda fanbase just shifts their opinions as soon as a new entry arrives has always been ridiculous to me. It seems when a franchise with somewhat "divisive" entries gets a new divisive entry and fans of the previous game start showing up and criticizing the new one, the default reaction is to cling on to the idea of a cycle. I've seen that happen with the FF fanbase a while back when XV released. Hopefully they got over it.

I'm playing both pretty equally.

Dye the Hylian armor and hood green then dye the pants white. Looks pretty good ingame.

Almost exclusively docked here. Portable for bed and bathroom. Going to try playing on the train today on my way home. Otherwise dock all the way.

Lol, just looked up amiibo prices. All of the Link ones that aren't from the new set are sold out online and being scalped for like $60+. The SMASH BROS Link amiibo that's like over 2 years old is being sold for almost 80 dollars.

Is there a reliable way to get strikes playing snow bowling? I was told it's a good quick way to get rupees but I just keep losing. I got a strike on my first go but every time I throw it from the same spot it misses all the pins.

Question about shrines:

Is there a systematic way to find all the shrines? I understand the Sheikah slate beeps when you're near a shrine, but let's say I'm going for 100% completion... how do I know I haven't missed some shrines in a particular region? Especially the hidden ones that requires quests. Do I need to keep just running around hoping to find stuff?

Basically I'm asking whether I should use an online shrine map, or whether there'll eventually be a game mechanic to direct me towards missed shrines.

I should've bought it when I had the chance.
Honestly you can probably find some in store at TRU or Target. The stock don't reflect what's available online even thought they do in store pick up.

I had seen tons last week and yesterday all amiibos related to Zelda were gone. Crazy.

Really. I can still find them in stores for €12-15. Maybe not Ganondorf though. I think I'll just scan the Sheik amiibo for
the Sheik Mask.

World record for the game is around 1 hour and 10 mins. 1 upgrade on stamina and thats it.

I myself beat 2 beasts befor heading to the castle, so I fought
only the 2 dungeon bosses i didnt beat. Also calamity ganon starts with lower hp because the divine beasts you recover will attack at the start.

I actually parried back his projectiles to make him vulnerable in the last part.

Man, I didn't even know you could do this since I was so scared lol

All these interesting game mechanics that I haven't even touched yet :v
