I used one to knock over a tree bridging a gap between cliffs to walk across. Anyone can use an axe to do that. Hah. Tree bombing is where it's at!

I kept breaking my axes like a sucker. I found out you could bomb trees by complete accident. Same with using bombs for mining as well.

Gaf!
I have emerged from cryo-sleep from the only thing that could possibly wake me from my deep deep slumber. An open world Zelda! I just got my switch and the game. One question my good friends. Before I fire this up are you playing it mostly docked or out of dock mode?

I'm doing dock because I love playing with the Pro controller. The game looks much better on handheld however. I've done the latter a few times and its a joy to just play in bed.

Holy shit.

That person who made the thread about playing without the HUD wasn't joking.

This game is bloody glorious without the HUD!!! So playable, so beautiful, feels even more loose and explorational than usual - truly feels like Shadow of the Colossus or something.

Put on Pro HUD, pick a direction and just explore. Best way to play the game!

This game!
This fucking game!

I don't know if it's spoiler or not, it's really what I did on my way so far.
The way I started it, I went out of the first cave and promptly tried to climb the walls of the cave from the outside just because I never saw anyone doing it.
Progressed a lot in the plateau and I can confirm you absolutely CANNOT leave the plateau without the paraglide.

Went off the plateau on the north side, got the blue horse (Evon) and found a stable to register it a little farther north.
Went toward the village they say is the next main event.
Went to another stable where a guy says that there's an entrance in the castle that the royale family used to flee.
I go there, at the bottom of one of the big pillar next to the castle.
I fly my way into the castle.
I managed to sneak my way to the library, was swarmed by lizalfos and decided to teleport back.
I'm at the official entrance now...
I get out and see the Twilight Princess fountain in ruin...
I'm literally chased by guardians, I decided to just teleport out of this nightmare.
I go north, from last stable (there's a shrine there).
I meet a Zora who tell me to go to a bridge or something for the prince.
I go there. and decide to go farther north because fuck Zoras.
I see a couple of girls assaulted by a blue bokoblins that I manage to kill because I had arrows and stuffs to throw at it.
They're out finding shrooms out in the open and don't even give me anything!
Continue up north, cross a river, find a fort.
There's a tower there, I climb the fort to get to the tower.
I can't reach the top because of that shitty goo everywhere.
I don't even try to kill anything, I'm just sneaking my way to everywhere.
I decide to go to a 'nearby' shrine a little east and south.
I'm killed by wolves, I try the shrine and fail and continue south.
I can see the strange island everyone talk about (I assume it's the one).
it's in the distance and I can't possibly swim that far.
I'm at a peninsula with a big monster that I'm letting sleep.
And try to come back toward the river nearby.
A shrine later I manage to get a deer and Mononoke my way back to the Zora tower that I climb and THEN I realize that the yellow dot for next objective is NOT the Kakarico town!
So I change objective and go south (deactivating that shitty shrine compass btw).
I manage to find the village and quickly go back to the twin mountain.
I spent last night doing that and I basically did nothing in order.
This fucking game!

I had to share this somehow.
Oh and weapon limitation is working to my advantage so far too!

Hey guys,

Side quest question: Where does Finley go after
the paedophile gets her letter at the bottom of the river
?

The log says go back to
Zora's Domain
but i have done so, ran around everywhere, and even went back to where she initiated the side quest etc, but i cannot find her for the life of me.

chest

How do I get this chest behind the gate?
Do I have to come from the outside? Somehow open the "wing" thingy of the titan?

Awesome. Can you dye this stuff?

Also, Target's buy two get one free applies. So I'm ordering the Toon Link/Zelda double set, Gannondorf and OOT Link. I already have Link from smash bros (so TP Link) and 8-Bit link. So all I need now is Smash Bros Zelda.

I haven't tried dyeing mine but I'm sure you'd be able to.

Amazing. This was me a few days ago. So satisfying to free them.

There's still a few I couldn't bring myself to open for some reason, like Shovel Knight, Chibi-Robo and the 30th anniversary 8-bit Link lol.

But they do look very cool all together and out of the packaging so those might have to come out too.

Dye the Hylian armor and hood green then dye the pants white. Looks pretty good ingame.

Will try this too.

You can't dye the amiibo gear, one of the first things I did was try to make my Hero of Time cap blue

I don't really understand why... all of them have canon recolors in their own games!

Lol, just looked up amiibo prices. All of the Link ones that aren't from the new set are sold out online and being scalped for like $60+. The SMASH BROS Link amiibo that's like over 2 years old is being sold for almost 80 dollars.

Do you need the amiibo to get the costumes or are they DLC too? If its the latter, talk about missed opportunity because I am not hunting down those things while conversely I would easily pay 20 bucks for a costume pack (And I NEVER buy cosmetic DLC)

So much for that then

Any link to the stats/durability of these weapons?

e: I really wish there was a way to get these without buying fuggin' amiibo..

There are other ways but they likely aren't legal if you don't already own them

Based on past amiibo functionality + no word from Nintendo that they're in the DLC it's safe to say they're amiibo only

You need the amiibo.

I think I would have preferred it if they gave a green tunic after clearing
the Korok trials.
You get a shitty sword, shield and bow instead.

Where exactly does the guy go that expands your inventory after you first meet him then he leaves?
From anecdotes I think it's random. Check the fields around the stables along the Hylian river first.

The costumes are actually pretty bad to use in the game. They require stupidly hard to get resources to upgrade and they only provide base armor values. They don't have set bonuses or any abilities, and other than maybe the TP gear, the costumes kind of clash badly with every other piece of clothing in the game since there's no real dye color that matches (and the box art armor can't even be dyed)

Which is a shame because green box art armor + Twilight hat would likely have been my go-to for this game, but they all just clash way too much

Plenty of the amiibo aren't hard to find if you really want the costume.

Any idea where i can find lots of swift violet? I can find them but they're very rare, even with the radar it's pretty painful to find them (always on a cliff side)

i need 45 of them, it takes so much time!

Some help is required if anyone is able.

Doing the mission Under The Red Moon, but I just can't get the Blood Moon to activate. Anyone have any ideas? I've sat at a campfire on the area at least 40 times by now with nothing...

The only one I could readily find was Gannondorf. SSB Zelda and Sheik are like 30-80 bucks, OOT Link is nowhere to be found and the dual-pack of Toon Link and Zelda is sold out everywhere. Meh.

You should be able to select the side mission on your Adventure Log and the waypoint will update to her new location, i think? Otherwise just look around on the outer walkways/catwalks of the Domain.

I believe the Blood Moon spawns when you have killed a certain population of enemies. Since the function of the Blood Moon is to respawn enemies you have eliminated from the overworld, it could be you haven't killed enough monsters to necessitate one.

So I'm pretty sure I'm exactly at a place where there should be a memory, but where is it? I haven't found one yet, do you have to activate the tower in the area?

The
shiek hood
fits perfectly with a particular early on armor set ;)
