Well, stables have shrines near them so getting to a stable ain't bad, and they're always on roads.

I mean, I get wanting the convenience of a magic horse, but I kinda like having the two modes of travel so clearly separated with each one having pros and cons.
Yea but that's not what I meant. You can get to a stable but when the stable is in the south and you want to go up north it doesn't really make sense...even if you fast travel to shrine.

A magic spawning horse already has a con, it can't navigate on mountains or let you climb even a small hill. Not letting it spawn just gives it an extra con over not using a horse.

If the hylian shield breaks who can fix it? Haven't been using it since I don't want to break it.

You can't fix it, but if you loose it or it breaks, there's a NPC that will sell it for 3.000 rupees. That NPC only appears when you finish
Hudson's Tarrey Town questline, he will be at one of the houses in that town.

He's not really silent in this game, either. There are full conversations he has that we just never hear or have text boxes for his half of the conversation.
Which is why I don't get when the developers said the reason they kept Link not voiced is because they didn't want him to say anything the player wouldn't. But then they do that anyways just without voice lines.

Yup. I'm even playing this game in the morning before I go to work. I haven't done that since my teenage years. This game... goddamn.

I got a carrying case for my Switch finally and took it to work yesterday and finally realized the potential this thing has as a handheld.

This isn't just the Wii U gamepad or a Vita with Remote Play, this is a proper hybrid device. It's dumb to say, but it was kinda magical having this realization >.>

How hard is it to get the Hylian Shield if you're underpowered?

Also, where can I get more bridles and saddles? I found the girl who will swap them out for me, but I don't have any other ones.

Huh, looks like that Ice Rod also doubles as a torch.

Y'all should embrace horses. They are beautiful and friendly and nice.

Though I get why they may not be very useful. I mostly kept mine because of how much I get attached to it lol. They're good for soaking in scenery though, since they navigate roads on their own.

Usually if I find myself wanting to get somewhere that to which I can normally fast travel, I take a horse instead. It lets me auto travel while looking at scenery.

Yep. Yesterday, I played through a dungeon on my lunch break, using the Switch in tabletop mode at my office desk. It was kind of mind-blowing that I was able to play through a dungeon of the brand-new 3D Zelda on a portable screen during at work.

Their auto-pilot feature is so amazing.

Yeah. Been that way for a couple games now at least if I recall, though the response options in this game are more varied and emotional than before. An evolution of Skyward Sword's options.

It was just amusing that they thought to give an explanation for us never hearing his voice.

it's great. but i find music is lacking overall...i know it's because of" breath of wild" but it is too discreet and/or experimental to my own satisfaction.
I actually really like the soundtrack. It's understated, definitely, but the tracks are solid and kick in at cool moments. It's very good at setting a mood. Like wondering what's on the other side of this mountain pass and as I edge closer the stable theme starts up and I run the rest of the way to rest up, give Beatle some business, grab a sidequest, and look for the travel point shrine inevitably nearby. Because it's generally ambient noise or soft melodies, when the setpiece tracks show up it's more noticable and more of a moment.

When I'm not playing I find myself constantly thinking about the game and waiting to get back to play it. Haven't been this addicted to a game since Bloodborne.

I was up in the snowy area trying to climb the tower when I realised it was surrounded by giant icicles that I couldn't get past. I've been carrying around a Fire Rod for hours, but of course I got rid of it at some point, and I didn't have any fire arrows. I did have normal arrows, firewood and flint, though, so I thought I'd start a fire then fire arrows through it. I got too close when I did it, though, and actually set my arrow on fire while I was still holding it in the bow, so I just kept 'dipping' my arrows in fire and firing them at the icicles :P

Now I'm wondering if I could have nocked an arrow, set it on fire, and then just walked up to the icicles and held the arrow up against them to melt them all without having to waste an arrow.

You could, but it'd take forever.

But the memories and
Zelda's diary
shows that he is genuinely mute most of the time, to a very strange degree. To the degree that
it freaks Zelda out, make her think he hates her, and she has to make an effort to get him to explain why he is that way.
That's not normal. So given that, a lot of the time you really can just assume Link isn't responding unless he does one of his "I'm speaking but no text box appears" animations.

It's pretty easy, you only have to kill one mini-boss and run past everything else. You may die a few times trying to get there and figuring out where exactly to go. If your underpowered be sure to save a lot so that if you die then you can restart from nearby.

It has a long cool down, at least 30 minutes or so,
if you die during the cooldown you'll actually die.
Funny story, the signal for the cooldown being over, at least on Pro HUD, is Zelda(?) saying
Mipha's Grace is ready.
First time I heard that it startled me so much I nearly fell down a cliff Link was next to thinking some enemy had gotten a jump on me. Deployed my paraglider, but yeah, that voice sample is distracting.

How are the loading times on BOTW digital copy?

Is there any benefit to buying the game digitally over the cartridge?

I already own the physical copy, but this game is worth double dipping if I will experience some kind of benefit.

Thanks for the tips! Maybe I'll save up for the stealth armor first.

Is there anything you can do with the explosive and electric Chu Chu? I mean I can throw them, but not very far. Can't I use it on a sword of mine or perhaps arrow?

Fast. From moment I boot from UI, I'm in-game in under a minute.

That's not Zelda talking it's
Mipha.

Wait, you can't go through the Goron mine without a full flame suit AND popping elixirs constantly? Jesus that's harsh.

Stone Taluses are kinda tough for me when their weak spot is on the back instead of on top. Hard to stay on that little thing to get in good hits, and I suck at jump slashes.

I have it digitally for the Wii U and the load times are quite fast for how open world this game is. Most games of this scale take quite a while to load, but BOTW is really good in terms of load speed.

I did that dumb tilt puzzle shrine last night (I hope there is only one), and even still, even after how aggravating that was, it took every last shred of my will power to shut the game off and go to bed at midnight. I really feel, like if I had marginally less self control, I would still be playing right now and probably be out of a job.

Will I get my ass handed to me? I only have two heart upgrades and one stamina.

You bet. The place is heavily guarded and everything will kill you in a single hit. It's still possible to go all the way to Ganon, it's just not easy. It's super fun though, sneaking around such a dangerous place when you shouldn't be.

There's such an easy way to make quick money in this game. I went up from 200 rupee to 1000 in about less than 5 minutes. Requires save scumming though.

bowling is way more consistent and easier to do......no need to constantly save and load either

you could have just......flipped the labyrinth over and use the flat underside to easily complete it lol

One piece of the armor is enough, or an elixer. There's a hylian in the first mini-town area you get to that has a quest for a free single piece of armor. It's worth doing it.

Are you using a sledgehammer?

Yeah. If they're up from the ground and sticking out the side of their back horizontal slashes don't reach. I usually try to stand on the top of the weak point and swing but it's significantly tougher than the great plateau weak point configuration.
