I'm never going to get good at
parrying Guardian lasers.

You will, at first it seemed like it was going to be easy to just time it right with the bright light above their heads right before they fire, but even that needed some extra timing to get the hang of it for me. Now though I'm probably connecting on 80% of my parry attempts.

quest:

I picked the sunshroom behind the lab before I even received the quest to take a photo of it.

So now I can't
take a picture of it.

What do I do?
Does it grow back? Do I go search the universe for another sunshroom?
uh
drop it.

You can just drop it and snap a pic :)

This damn game though...... killing my production levels of anything else. Last night boot it up around 12:30AM thinking maybe I'll just play an hour, 4:30 rolls around and I'm just getting to bed. Up 3 hours later for work

Part of the problem is that I get such a brief period to practice before I run out of shields.

Natural items do respawn. That includes trees as well.

Man I thought I had it bad repeatedly staying up until 1-1:30 and getting up at 7-7:30 for work.

This game is amazing.

Getting in a new region without unlocking the tower is stressful. At one point I had to decide if I wanted to go after the Tower, a close Shrine in the opposite direction, a near stable, check some suspicious ruins or go to the mountains to check an strange blue light. In the end I opted for the light, but saw a cool maze in the way and changed targets, then got sidetracked by some ore, a Fairy Fountain, a new animal I had never seen before, a hidden Shrine...ended up miles from my initial destination and didn´t care. I really can´t understand how people can say the world is empty, every step there are 3 or 4 different things calling to me to go check´em out.

I´ve been going to bed at 2:30 and getting up at 6:50 all week :S I took tomorrow and monday off, hopefully I can get enough of the game this weekend so it lessens it´s grip on me :P

Some of armour sets being scattered all over the world is kind of irritating. At least with the Zora set you get the whole thing doing Zora stuff. I'd rather not look up where they are since that takes the fun out of it

Ah well, another 80 shrines to go.

You bet. The place is heavily guarded and everything will kill you in a single hit. It's still possible to go all the way to Ganon, it's just not easy. It's super fun though, sneaking around such a dangerous place when you shouldn't be.

Nice! I think I'll mess around there and see what happens.

I wish there was a fur lined version of the Hylian Hood though, that offered warmth

Oddly, none of the warmth providing head items provide any kind of head coverage at all. As someone who lives in a cold climate, there's no way Link is out there in sub-zero temperatures with just a silly tiara or a brooch keeping his head warm.

I wanted some Ice Climber style hood. So very fur lined, but no, instead a circlet with a magic stone in it will do.

Can anybody please give me a hint for the missing Zora
wife
sidequest? I figured I should find her near Lake Hylia, but I've already sailed through its entirety and was not successful.

They should have just stole the Ice Climbers parka from Hyrule Warriors. Painted brown or green would have been exactly what I wanted.
Although the Rito armor is close enough to what I wanted.

The reason the lack of a warm head piece is irritating is because the boots made specifically to walk on the snow do not provide warmth, despite being thicker than the pants that do and you know, literally being made to wear exclusively in the snow, and so I need to equip two warm items to stay warm and all that's left is the circlet or the Rito headband thing...

If there's no fishing in this game, where can I get seafood?
I've been shooting them with arrows. Arrows seem to penetrate the water a little.

That's probably why I'm always short on arrows. I wonder if I can craft more? They're pretty expensive to buy, too.

Someone explain to me how in the living fuck did gbatemp's "review" get counted on opencritic

Like what

lol

Hey, they got opinions man.

I mean, I disagree with virtually everything they said and some things they said about the combat is factually wrong, but whateves.

I am loving the snowy regions. I decided not to spend all my rupees on a cold resist set since I got a fire rod from a chest in a cabin. With the warm doublet I don't take damage but I have to switch my weapons if I want to battle. Makes the road to adventure even more memorable.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild is what I wanted from the Witcher 3. A huge open world worth exploring. Not because your map had hundreds of markers, or the infinite amount of fetch/kill quests, but because the world itself is interesting. I don't think traveling an open world game has ever felt so amazing. Maybe it's because of the lack of map markers, or the lack of hand holding mechanics, but BotW might be the best open world game I have ever played.

The game makes me feel like a kid again, a kid with a map, some tools and off on an adventure.

How does everyone feel about the shrine music?

Personally, I didn't think anything of it until I did a bunch of shrines and I actually like it.

Snow/ice is usually the best area of any game <3

You could build a fire to keep you warm? Just a random question from a curious non-player.

That guy keeps talking about the Great Fairy fountain I already found. Not sure why.

Hmm, that's part of a sidequest that's meant to be your introduction to the Great Fairy Fountain, not sure if there's anything you need to do to get him to shut up about that. Anything in your quest log?

He appears at various stables and other locations throughout the world. At each location, he'll point you towards a different memory.

just had an intriguing loading screen... it talked about precious container / receptacle, found at the edge of the world! I didn't have time to read it fully!

Any idea what it is?

Also you guys should visit the really small forest all the way north on the map (even after the great forest), there's something really cool there

Eventide Island was pretty rad.

How did everyone nab the orb on the Blue Hinox? Me, I just paraglided off a hill and snatched it from him before he woke up and found me. Also, I used Stasis to knock the orb onto the island with the...what're they called, again? The spots you lay them in.

One of my favorites!
