Am I doing something wrong?

Enemies occasionally kill me with like one hit, or very nearly. And I'm not talking about the larger enemies, but some of the ordinary ones (though more difficult versions of 'em, maybe).

Example with location spoilers:
When I first moved toward Goron City I encountered these sort of early enemies that totally beat my ass. Even the winged ones do A LOT of damage if they erupt with a shock attack or similar. At one point I decided to try to go to Akkala instead, and on my way there – beaten to a pulp. I generally use the gear meant for the region and I've got them boosted by the fairy too.

Eventide Island was pretty rad.

How did everyone nab the orb on the Blue Hinox? Me, I just paraglided off a hill and snatched it from him before he woke up and found me. Also, I used Stasis to knock the orb onto the island with the...what're they called, again? The spots you lay them in.

One of my favorites!

it's way simpler to just cut a tree to make a small bridge to the pedestal, love this game physics!

I'm still early on, only completed
12
shrines total so far, including the initial 4. Some in areas I clearly was not supposed to be in, damn guardians!

I have a quick question, is it important I keep the Amber, opals and other gems, or are they mostly for selling? I figured they might be used for armor upgrades later.

I shot him with an arrow in the eye and stole one of his nice weapons while he was crying about it, then waited around for a thunderstorm and magged a metal box onto him so it struck him with lightning a few times, then beat him to death with the metal boxes from the ledge above + the sword I nabbed off him, plus some of the lightning chu jelly and fire chu jelly that I had laid about him as traps. I felt like a proper hooligan harassing this poor cyclops with virtually everything I had.

As for the hole you put the spheres in, for the one that's off shore, I attached an Octorock balloon to the sphere and blew it out there with a Korok Leaf.

My method proved foolproof, as when I tried to cut a tree to make a bridge it kept washing away :(

keep them, they serve for sidequest, upgrades, and so on (after a while you will have enough to sold them if you're short on money, but for now, keep as much as you can)

Amazing, didn't think of that at all

I had a theory that breath of the wild is not in any specific timeline but rather that it is the inevitable conclusion of all the time lines.

It's why there are references to nearly every single zelda game in it.

It's why the geography doesn't really add up perfectly with any of the games.

It's also why most of the events referenced directly in it are from the zelda games that take place in all timelines (with the reference to TP being the only one screwing things up)

Think about how weak the master sword is in this game, it might be nearing the end of its purpose. Think about how hard it is for zelda to make a connection to the goddess, maybe because the people of hyrule are moving on from needing the gods? And to top it off this might be the first time where the objective wasn't just to seal or defeat ganon but rather to annihilate.

Skyrim - 15 hours and quit, never played it again

GTA V - 13 hours and quit

Xenoblade X - 18 hours and quit

Breath of the Wild - 30 hours and only done one dungeon and not burnt out at all. What's that different that makes me love this open world when I generally get so bored?

Almost to my second dungeon. What is consensus on these inclusions. Perfect amount for the game, should have been more? Should of had less shrines?

At which point should I stop fearing the Guardians and start counter-attacking them? Is there a number of hearts I should have? Availability of
Ancient arrows, shield or other gear
Or should Injust start practicing the perfect block and go for it?

(I have 7 hearts and
the Mipha healing power
as well as 'armor' in the 15-range and some weapons in the 20-25 range, but only one of the aforementioned arrows.)

Cool, thanks. I haven't had to sell them, as I haven't needed to buy anything, besides my first set of armor, which I'm sure I could have just found for free. I was ready for a visual upgrade as well, lol.

LOL, can't believe I didn't think of something so simple.

lol, poor Hinox. Had no idea you could attach those spheres to Octorock balloons!

Why would
Zelda need to make a connection to the goddess when she is the goddess? According to skyward sword. Also how does the to reference mess with anything? The twilight realm is practically another dimension anyways.

How the hell are all of you sneaking up on enemies. Every time I try it they instantly come running towards me as soon as I am in sight. Even at a good distance they see me and my stealth mission is over.I crouch, walk slow, hide behind what I can, it doesn't matter.

I think the problem is not the number, but some people will have issues with them looking samey along with the shrines, same as the bosses

The master sword isn't really weak though. It gets double damage against Gannon and his minions, which fits with the lore. Against everyone else it's 30 power, but against them it's 60. If you were to get it before doing the dungeons you'd plow right through them no problem at all.

I really like the concept of the dungeons, these giant interconnected areas where each thing influences each other thing, but they could be done a bit better. I wouldn't give up any shrines for that though.

They should just give the game the Majora's Mask treatment and use the basic open world, just redo the buildings and stuff in it.

You can just run up to them and slice their legs off or bomb them. The more legs you take off the more likely it is for then to flip over and become helpless.

Stealth armor helps a ton!

How does everyone feel about the shrine music?

Personally, I didn't think anything of it until I did a bunch of shrines and I actually like it.

Heard it more than enough at this point. Could have used a few different arrangements at the very least. It isn't offensive but between the music and the same tile set over and over, all these shrines are merging into a giant blur.

Question about the
photography feature
on the Sheikah Slate, which I have yet to obtain: since I have been avoiding most external information about the game, I hadn't heard until just now that it allows you to
fill in an in-game encyclopedia.
Given that I've played about 80 hours of the game already, including some content that disappears from the world and is presumably non-repeatable like the
Yiga ninja master
in the southwest or the
dragon on Mount Lanayru
in the east (unless absolutely everything respawns with the blood moon and I just don't know it), have I locked myself out of
a 100% completion? I ask because this was definitely the case with the Nintendo Gallery quest in the original Wind Waker, where if you miss a photograph of a boss, you can't obtain it again until the New Game+. I've been playing as much of BotW as possible without properly reactivating my Sheikah Slate, but if this locks off any content at all, I'd prefer to know now rather than later—especially as I still have all four of the Divine Beasts ahead of me.

I mean, you have to sneak up from behind, and also watch your noise meter. I believe heavier armor makes it harder to sneak so consider that as well.

If you're having too much trouble, try sneaking during a thunderstorm, enemies can hear shit if there is rain and lightning and thunder pounding around.

No
there is a photography quest and once you complete it then you can buy or trade photos that you don't have. I am honestly not 100% how it works I haven't gotten there yet...

Reposting my question for a new page to see if I can get some help:

I'm trying to get somewhere that requires a lot of stamina recovery or boosting. Unfortunately, I've run out of Stamella Shrooms and Beedle is all out of Restless Crickets.

I'm around (very early game location spoiler)
Dueling Peaks
. Can anyone give some guidance on where to find ingredients to cook stamina restoratives?

EDIT: Shit! Top of the page...

It is weak enough that it failed the first time and link got KOed for 100 years

I meant that more in the "awaken her goddess powers" kind of way, and yeah I guess you're right about the twilight realm

I just beated my first Guardian yesterday.

The key is have some good weapons and just go for it lol.

I actually enjoy the guardian fights becuase how relentless they are and how they react to your attacks.

boss pictures can be purchased after fighting the last boss. The dragon doesn't die.

does anyone know where I can see the korok seeds on a map? someone posted one guides image pages back, but my google foo fails me

I tried using bombs on ore once, but I got nothing. It's not detrimental to use them?

It's easy to blow the stuff you get from the ore to kingdom come if you bomb it. It won't be destroyed, but it'll go flying if you aren't careful.

Found a spear weapon that's even more effective than the Sledge for ore though, and I'm going to use it on the rock mini-bosses next.

Sometimes it can get a bit stale to get a shrine (or a korok seed) as prize for a world puzzle. But at the same time I can see why it had to be done. It's a fine compromise for having such a huge world.

Dungeons are amazing though. The first one I encountered was
the camel
which is probably the hardest. Took me a while but it was a lot of fun.

You can go for it whenever. I have less hearts and worse equipment than you and I just fight them now. Parrying the laser is really easy and kills them quickly.

EDIT: Shit! Top of the page...
My advice is to
work on the main quest line until you get the camera. It allows you to take pictures of things and dowse for them. That way you can find more stamella mushrooms easier. It doesn't take long at all to get to that point.

The fact we can even talk about doing shit such as this as being possible, worthwhile and normal speaks volumes for how versatile and free this game is.
