Where can i get even warmr clothes than the ones you need to survive at the beginning of the game?

I got the the snow mountain and lose health with the Warm Doublet

Don't worry about clothes for now. There's a whole bunch of hot peppers you can cook just outside the snow mountain to keep you warm for a long time.

Are you able to cook before leaving the plateau? I was checking in at fires to see if it ever have me the option but I never saw it if it was a prompt that pops up.

Lot of apples were chugged getting to that last shrine.

Yes, you can cook. It would made you life easier if you made a certain recipe and gave it to someone ;)

Rito Village
sells a set that lets you go to any cold environment without losing hearts.

You need to wear two pieces of clothes with cold protection. You can get armor with that attribute at
Orni Village
. For now you could also eat food with Cold Resistance Lv. 1 buff (while wearing the Warm Doublet), food with Cold Resistance Lv. 2 buff (if you want to wear some other armor) or carry a lit torch, a fire rod or whatever fire weapon you have at hand (while wearing the Warm Doublet).

EDIT: You could also draw your bow and walk around with a fire arrow to warm you lol

That's an area where the game didn't have to be as obscure. It should just be a prompt when you walk up to a pot . Hit it and it auto opens the food menu.

Meh, i disagree. Holding reagents in your hands is also used in some Korok seed riddles.
I like how the game tries to do not do "press X to ..." when it's not needed, and much more charming via just using the physics system.

to properly "cook" (a dish) and not just "roast" (indivdual items) you need a cooking bowl with a fire lit underneath.
afterwards, you pick your ingredients by pressing X in the inventory screen, choosing to carry up to 5 ingredients in your hands, which you can then drop into the bowl after leaving the inventory screen.

I've only ever roasted an apple. What else can I roast? Is raw meat roastable?

I don't think so? I know for sure that I've lost other ingredients before realizing I needed a fire w/ pot, because they just disappeared when they burned up. Whereas the apples changed to roasted apples

Pretty much all items has a purpose other than just selling them. I think ores are the easiest to obtain if you need more though that's why I sell them for money.

Two quick questions:

- Is there a way to get a portable cooking pot to actually cook shit on a campfire on the go rather than only cooking in fixed places?

- Are the sell prices for gems all the same in the world, or is there a best place to get the best price for them?

The physics in this game are insane.

Yes you can roast raw meat. You can roast literally everything edible.

- No.

- Fixed shop have fixed prices. But some other NPC will give you better deals.

It is. Generally you don't want to roast anything though, even the shittiest recipe will net you more health than a roasted ingredient.

But if you're in a bind and need extra hearts and don't have a cooking pot you can always start a fire and roast shit by that.

Holy Shit! That feeling when you finally find a way to climb the Akkala tower - and I'm not even sure if that's the way you're supposed to do it!

Heh, did you find that rubble area with about inch not covered in corruption that somehow you could climb pass without being hurt?

I felt like such a badass when I shimmied past it without a scratch hahaha.

Is it really up to me to sell stuff like Amber and Opal to get Rupees? I'm barely coming across any Rupees.

Sell those or food that you've cooked (like 5 bird drumsticks cooked together) to make money. Aside from some chests or rare occurrences you won't find many rupees lying around in the world.

- i think so. I'm constantly selling shit (mostly bokoblin parts) at all kinds of vendors, and they're always the same sell price.

You can only cook basic stuff that way though. Making dishes which increase your resistances is out. Those are often the ones you need most when in a bind somewhere out there!

when you kill a blue slime with a fire weapon, you get red slime leftovers.
MIND = BLOWN

also it took me like 3 burried chests to realize I could lift them out of the dirt with my shieka slate

Started playing this morning around 8: finished the first dungeon, did some side quests, got some seeds, did some Shrines, found some new places, found another Fairy, upgraded gear.

Look up and it's noon, and I wasn't even bored of playing, when I'm usually bordd after an hour or two of other game sessions.

Only pulled myself away because I felt like I needed to and to get something to eat.

Nintendo has sold crack in digital form.

On one hand I'd be happy with them adding more stuff and giving more of a reason to explore the world. That was the biggest let down with the lack of GTAV single player DLC. But man when I look over the mountains and see the rolling greens beyond Hyrule. They need to Majora's Mask that shit.

Wait, how did you even do it other wise? The various ways you can achieve the same goal in this game are awesome, I love the feeling of "this is so crazy, I can't be doing this the intended way. Wow! It actually worked!" that this game continues to give me on a basically daily basis.

Yeah you can also use rods on them to turn them any element you like. And regarding the chests - you can burn wooden chests to reveal the item within - that happened by accident the first time but was pleasantly surprised.

Done all the shrines

I like the gift at the end, but now I want to power that up before I go face Ganon. Time to go hunting for dragons

I have almost nothing but love for this game (this is all-time great stuff right here folks), but I have to say one cool moment was kinda ruined by bad framedrops and it was
in Korok Forest, I kinda stumbled upon it and came to it and was like "oh is this...?!" It could have been an amazing moment if the framerate didn't absolutely tank in this entire area.
I've been able to look past most framedrops, but this almost ruined an iconic moment for me and it sucks.

I'm starting to hate some of the mechanics of this game. I had to leave half-way through my first dungeon in BoTW because I realized that I literally had no weapons left to carry me on at that point in time.

I mean, I understand the reasoning for it, to give the game more depth and complexity but it does become cumbersome after a while, especially when you can't buy weapons from a store.

Don't have a sword or a bow? Go out and hoard one.

Don't have any arrows? Buy some or find some.

Don't have any money to buy arrows? You better find some minerals or a whole lot of apples to sell.

It's just tiring, man.

Just all of the smaller things in this game add up too.

Want to cook something? Watch this animation or wait five seconds for the game to tell you what you have. Want to cook multiple things? lol good luck on that. BTW, you better remember what recipe it is because the game isn't going to track of that for you. (The only game that I can remember that does this right is Dragon Quest IX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vETEnQ-qUFs)

Want to climb that mountain? Nope, it's raining. Wait or come back later.

You hear that? It's a blood moon. Watch this cut scene again so I can remind you.

Seriously, fuck.

Were you able to find them without outside help? I'm thinking of doing this before beating the game.

This your first open world game? Heck, is this your first video game?

Why should these things just be magically handed to you? If you're going into a dungeon and you aren't prepared, how is that anyone's fault other than your own? I mean, the game goes out of its way before you entire a Divine Beast to tell you "MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED!"

Is there a secret to taming horses? I swear to god I have upgraded my stamina four times and can have about five stamina replenishing meals and a horse still bucks me off.

But when you only have a few hearts anyway, it's so much faster to drop five fish on the ground and cook them all at once. Cooking in a pot in mass amounts is so cumbersome. :(

Yes, too bad you bought the only part that can be replaced by one you can find in a shrine. :P

What's this about? I would like to know what you mean so I don't waste my parts.

The dungeons don't even have many enemies.
