Have they included some quality or stability with this updated? The main UI on my pro has been lagging and not as smooth as it used to be after some older patch. I hope they fixed the lagging UI.

right? even with a closed beta you certainly have a dedicated group for QA not to mention UI designers whos job is to make good UI.
Yeah.. overall the update is excellent but they fucked up notifications.

Is it safe to put PS4 in rest mode while downloading games to the external? I don't have to cut it off/unplug or do anything special do I?
Lumped them all together under one big column and you can't erase any of them.
They're signed in on the mobile app.
It's a baffling change.
Did they really think this was an improvement?

You can press options to open up a Downloads or Uploads specific page. Although they still show up on the main notifications page.

Then again...they did the same thing with the What's New feed in 4.0 and not that many people seemed to mind.
I hate the What's New feed now. I can't eyeball anything at all...gotta scroll scroll scroll. At least make the freaking tiles smaller...The more friends you add the more useless it gets.

Not usually one to bitch about a console UI but I agree that Notifications is a step backwards. I have a million that I have never bothered to clear because they were all grouped in their little areas and now they are just barfed into one big pile of garbage. My top notification when I logged in was some shit from 2015 when I ran out of cloud storage.

I like to put movies and TV shows on a USB and watch them on my PS4. MP4 videos don't work a surprising amount of the time. Anything in this update that will fix that?

it was slowly improving. i used it!
my conspiracy theory is that they redesigned it to limit the load on the system. less tiles to load and only loaded on demand (i.e. scrolling). what's new would be like the first thing they disabled when psn had issues.
So dumb. Just why?

That's...one of the stupidest possible changes that they could've made, and now I'm left to wonder why they did it in the first place.
