PS4 Update 4.5 is coming tomorrow, details inside

So I've noticed the biggest issue I have so far with 4.5. When you rebuild the database, any games installed on an external HDD get removed from the folders you've placed them in.

Why does it matter why I rebuild the database? It's a silly oversight considering rebuilding the database doesn't remove games from folders that are installed on the internal drive.

Because if you have a legit reason to keep rebuilding it then you probably have other issues.

I don't have other reasons, and I'm not frequently rebuilding the database. I noticed it happened when I had to update from the beta version of the firmware to the final version and it happened again earlier when we had a random power flash off and on while I was playing and the system did a system check and rebuilt the database when powering on.

I have multiple folder setups and a good chunk of games installed -- its annoying to have to re-do all of that whenever a database rebuild is forced.

Gotcha, I think Nitty was assuming you were rebuilding the database often. That is pretty crappy though and does seem like a bug.

Switched from my powered dock to a Rosewill Armer RX200-APU3-25B over the weekend after getting my HZD Plat. Got a bit of a scare after rebooting, I could see the storage in "USB external storage" but nothing was happening when I said "Use this storage". One reboot and the drive came back and all the data was accessible.

This might be comforting for anyone that need to change their enclosure. No issues whatsoever in multiple startup, startdown and rest mode all week since (never had any issues with the powered dock either).

Have a weird thing going on. When I try to install the 4.5 update, it just goes to a black screen. I wonder if the file is corrupted? Is there a way to delete an uninstalled update file and force a new download?

Anyone notice that download speeds to the external HDD seem much slower than the internal drive? I'm tempted to just disconnect it and then move the install after it's downloaded to the internal.
