Bought the BotW Zelda amiibo from Walmart just now that I happened to pass by.

What say you guys, worth it? Shield, rare gems, and vegetables.

I think it's okay, I like the amiibo too. The Archer Link might be my favorite of the series though.

Oh man, the themes in
Rito Village
and
Hyrule Castle
are epic.

Also exploring
Hyrule castle is so depressing. Especially when reading the journals. :(

Anyone whose watched the Dunkey video wanna say how spoilery it is? His Resident Evil 7 one literally shows the final boss so I don't exactly trust him that much.

Huh... learnt something from that I didn't expect. Dogs won't chase after sticks you throw. given everything in this game I thought they would do that.

I like them. They can be helpful. I have all of them except the Guardian. Wolf Link is the most unique although his hearts all depend on your status in TP HD.

I cannot get over how big this game is. I mean I heard it was big, but there must be in excess of 100hrs solid in this game at least if you are trying for most items and thats ignoring Korok seeds. Its just fucking massive.

I only realised theres 3 large portions of the map I havent even touched yet. I havent even met any Gorons or Gerudo.

Two other things boggle my mind; Korok seeds. Theres what, 900 arent there? I expected to ve tripping over the things everywhere, hasnt been the case at all, think Ive only found like 50 in about as many hours played.

The other thing is how the game never feels grindy. You just keep finding more and more things in the game world and its not even like they are things you've seen elsewhere, it just keeps throwing new little ideas and twists to the game world at you, most open worlds the scenery changes but theres rarely much that you do there than you find elsewhere, with this game though you are constantly discovering new bits and pieces all the time.

So far the side quests haven't been annoying or anything but they definitely are fetch quests. I probably need to find the meaningful ones because so far villagers either want me to clean up an area of monsters so they can fish there again or hunt a certain animals to bring them the meat. I don't mind them though, I do hope however there are really good ones too.

So upon researching a recipe, a spoiler was brought up to me regarding a certain item.

So once reading you must have 13 hearts to obtain the Master Sword, has anyone else made it their mission to get 13 hearts before adding anything to stamina?

I went out of my way to get this spoiled to me before even getting the game and it has been my priorityso far, I have done nothing else but work towards that goal (and have a lot of time on the way).

Well I solved my money (Rupee) problem. Found a guy on a snowy mountain, near Hebra Tower (top left of map) who charges 20 rupees to play 10 pin bowling with a giant snowball and a strike = 300 rupees, a spare = 100 and 9 pins = 50. You can do it as many times as you like too.

Just have warm clothing and maybe some cold resistance meals handy.

Just finished my fourth divine beast. I've been exploring some more before heading to the castle. I must say my biggest disappointment so far is the reward for doing the shrine quest involving the flying beasts. Given their names, I thought it would be something special in the shrine

The shrine quests have been faaaar more interesting than the regular side quests to me.

I don't know, those fights are really fun, plus the assassins are always hilarious.

Also a good source for decent equipment. The one-handed weapon has a very high attack stat and the Windcutter katana is at least decent statswise and has a cool unique attack.

Fininshed the main game stuff and story and these feels omg.... This is the best game ever i am in tears...

Still gonna explore the world and try 100% but jeez this game man.... It's the closest game to perfection in gaming yet imo.

This is also the first time ever i am sad that a game ended.

Sometimes while playing there's this noise that I hear in some places. I'm not sure if I can describe it, it sounds kind of sparkly or magical. Does anyone know what it means?

Also what's the deal with those huge flying
dragons
? I've seen two of them so far in the distance.

Thanks.

Think of them as portable mine deposits. They drop rare loot which, in turn, is used in various side quests/upgrades.

There are. One of the beautiful things is I can look at my quest log and say, what do I feel like doing? The rewards may never be much but I always enjoy doing them. Not once have I felt like I grinded for something. I did get frustrated one time with a shrine quest but ultimately I got it figured out and it was awesome.

Damn this game is pretty good guys. Just got my Switch today and started playing it - currently finished my third shrine. This is my second Zelda game (after ALBW) but I prefer how this starts out - it seems completely disconnected and it's own story. Also not really and handholding, I love it. This game is going to consume me.

I just couldn't say no to Cottla and Koko after hearing their story.

Is there a secret to taming horses? I swear to god I have upgraded my stamina four times and can have about five stamina replenishing meals and a horse still bucks me off.

Quick and dirty way: steal a horse from a riding bokoblin. That horse has been tamed already.

Yep. I love Nebb's quest in Hateno (which I will ALWAYS pronounce "Hate-No" because I'm hilarious) and that's simply a weapon finding quest. Super easy to find weapons while exploring, no effort really required thus far.

Just completed the map. Have a little over 50 Shrines. Around 100 Korok Seeds. Completed house. I've only done one Divine Beast so far.

I don't want this game to be over. I've probably put 60 hours into it already. I hardly ever do that with single player games. 20 hours is typically my max before it just becomes dreadfully boring.

Love this game so much.

That being said, fuck the rain, and fuck blood moons that stack back to back within literally a minute of each other.

i wouldnt mind the rain as much if it didnt make most places ugly.

Does everyone get the same weapons? Because i've had to show him a couple of rareish weapons

Man I am absolutely LOVING the fact that Nintendo took the plunge into voice acting... but dammit all, probably 30+ hours in and Zelda's voice still hasn't grown on me :/

I've loved every other voice but Zelda's just doesn't sound right. I felt this way back when the Switch presentation trailer premiered and I really hoped it would grow on me, but she just sounds... off. Maybe I just don't know much about British people but she sounds like a 20-30 year old to me. Definitely hurts the illusion that she is supposed to be 16/17.

Do spears do more damage over time compared to axes of the same stats? The attack rate is much faster. I'm guessing swords are somewhere in the middle.

Did you put your switch on sleep mode without closing the game beforehand?
I have not had the blood moon glitch since I started closing the game before putting the console into sleep mode.

Can someone give me a hint? (don't outright tell me.

So I found the Spring of Courage but I need a Farosh Scale. Seeing as this is similar to Mt Lanaryu I assume I need the dragon I saw briefly flying around Lake Hylia. Can I get a small hint about how to find it? it isn't even there anymore.

If you ever see it again, even by chance, take a photo of it and read the compendium. Also talk to the people around the area.

I was gonna ask if anyone else noticed this but was worried it was in poor taste because the characteristics that make him seem gay are pretty heavy stereotypes.

It is, but I think it's done in the right way. He isn't the subject of ridicule, he's just slightly outrageous and campy. I'm gay and I don't think the portrayal is inaccurate or out of line in any way. Finding him was an awesome surprise.

Goddamn the Sheikah Sensor is hot garbage. You have to be so specific in where you're going and where the camera is that you might as well not even use it. It really should have just been a proximity sensor instead of this weird mish-mash.

I can't get my amiibo to scan either in tablet mode or on my Pro controller...

I have amiibo turned on. I have the rune selected. I have the yellow pulsing circle indicating it can be summoned there. But nothing happens. The amiibo never scans.

What am I doing wrong?

You were not joking. Made 900 rupees in a single minute. WTF
