What the hell that was awesome

Spring of Wisdom quest spoilers

I decided to veer off to see what was up in that mountain by Haneto village and found this big goddamn dragon up there. I somehow killed it (which was a great battle by the way. Slow mo, arrows, flying, wow) using a lot of heat resistant food though and got the Frostspear

Does this thing break? I feel like it'd be such a waste if it did.

I need to know how some of the horses I'm trying to get are supposed to get tamed, I'm trying with a black one but I just get thrown everytime, any non-spoilery tips please?

Press L a lot of times really fast. Maybe it could help with more stamina.

Are you talking about the
flying dragons? I wasn't sure if it was possible to kill them or not. They always just gave me horns or scales. Or is it some other dragon?

Also, I don't want to get any hopes up, can I mount a
stag
?

You can, but you can't register/save it to ride later.

It does break sadly :( That spring of wisdom is indeed amazing the challenge of getting there is nice!

One up there was corrupted so you need to free it essentially

40+ hours into the game. Still new stuff to find. And now I have unlocked two new regions. This will probably be a 60-70+ title for me. Maybe even 100+ if the rest of the zones are as stuffed with goodies.

My Master Edition finally arrived today! One of the corners is a little bent but everything else is in great condition.

I am going to finally be able to lose myself into the game, see you all on the other side!

Hey, I found a
Great Fairy Fountain.

I guess this one has an added horse thing going on...

*Gives it rupees*

THIS IS NOT A FAIRY HOLY SHIT

I still haven't found the last
fountain
. Found one in
Akkala
,
Kakariko
, and
Gerudo Desert
...

Is there a prefered order for the dungeons?

I did the
Zora
one but I'm kinda lost now... I know the game is super open ended on purpose but I get anxious when I don't have a minimum of direction lol.

Regarding Hyrule Castle:

At the entrance to the Sanctum but haven't gone in yet. Can't tell if it's me not wanting the main quest to end or if I''m a bit too freaked out by the glob of whatever hanging from the ceiling. xD Either way, it's been an amazing ride. I'll probably come back for side questy things, but man was this an adventure.

Does
Zelda's horse
have a name? Feel's kind of weird registering it without
remembering?
it's name.

Don't think so.
I called mine Memory.

After I finished the Zora dungeon I decided to tackle the ones close to the next stop on the
City building
side quest. So Goron second, Gerudo third (I'm currently on my way to that one), and Rito last.

There is no preferred order. Just do whatever you want.

Just keep pressing L. Get stamina replenishing potions or food in case you don't have enough stamina, as you can consume items in the menu even when trying to tame a horse. (I had the same problem too until I tried this and tamed that fucker right away.)

Seems like most people pick that one. My second one was
the bird one in the west
and it's actually a bit easier. I liked heading out there after having been in the east for so long.

EDIT: I would definitely keep Gerudo for later.

Top left one is my recommendation. You get really good traversal skill after beating it.

Just got the collector's edition hardcover strategy guide. From the outside it looks and feels like the nerdiest year book ever. But damn it's packed full of info. Will definitely use it for some shrines and seeds, will not look for main/side missions.

On the Wii U you can use the activity log. There's no way to see it on the Switch outside of the parental controls app for your phone.

Ugh, it's so crazy how much they regressed the OS/functions on the Switch compared to the 3DS and Wii U. I would have loved another activity log. I downloaded the app, but it isn't retroactive with playtime afaik. I probably have clocked in at least 40 hours so far, but I'm not sure.

Regarding Hyrule Castle...

Is it possible to enter the area that has the final memory without triggering any story cutscenes? Also, is it possible to enter the area that has the Hylian Shield without cutscenes too?

You can get to the memory without activating any story. I have no clue about the Hylian shield as I had no clue it was even in there.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the horses in this game...

For once you have to nurse them around so I always feel limited in my exploration cause I don't want to go too far from it (I know I can get it back from the stable but that's not like there's a stables everywhere).

Once you're on the actual horse it kinda control terribly.

I really wish it was better cause I'm tired of running around on foot everwhere.

Okay. Since I'm just about ready to go to Hyrule Castle, but I wanted to name her something special, so I searched for known wartime horses and such, and got to name her
Verdun,
after a day in March 1916 during WW1 which killed an unusual amount of horses
, her being a war-survivor after all these years.

That's such a well thought-out name that I'm sad I didn't take the time to think of something better than superficial sentimentality. xD

BUT THIS FINALE THOUGH:

I screamed and cheered inside when all of the Champions came together and fired those lasers. Awesome sequence, and actually starts you off with half of Ganon's health taken! Of course, the hard part is pulling my own weight because Second Stage immediately wrecked me.

Yep you can even raid the hell out of the area without triggering anything story related.

Memory is great too! Something to honor her relationship with Zelda to, right?

I don't remember the last time a game made me feel this way about it's whole world,
and admittedly, it's driving my GF crazy since I haven't played videogames this much since we got together, over 1.5 years ago.

Dude,
its posible to get to the room of the final boss and no story cutscenes will trigger. Heck no one will warn you that stepping into that room means the game will end right there. It happened to me, I expected a warning because I thought it may be the room for a cutsene before the final boss but no, final boss battle started just like that.

So be careful.

Hint for this shrine along the path to death mountain - these platforms on columns that I can't get to, metallic boxes behind a keyed door?

I agree. It's one of the things I'm not too hot on in this game. Only being able to summon it from the stable and the finicky controls of horses are real weak points. I can't help but wish the chocobos from FF15 were here instead. Although this game does a million things better, the chocobos in FF15 did their job perfectly, as opposed to the horses in this game.

Ah,
I'm sorry if I spoiled that for you. :(

lol really? That's kinda weird that
there's no cutscene really until after the final boss battle.
