Where are the ten cuckoos?

It wad a lot easier than I thought it would be. They're scattered nearby, so you won't have to stray outside of the near immediate surrounding of the pen--they're all in the village. Hardest one to find is on the roof. Look around the vegetable patches too

A lot of complaints towards this game have been weird so far. Like yesterday a person I follow on Twitter said that the game "needed an XP system" and then today somebody was complaining about the save system. Am I playing an entirely different game?

I can understand the save system thing because that comes down to personal preference, but the XP thing just comes from someone who wants to see bars fill up.

Been exploring Hebra, this place is really cool. I love the little hideaways scattered about, feels satisfying to find stuff at the end of them. Shield surfing game was fun.

i have no idea what im doing

It's amazing that this is even possible.

OHMYGOD
I just found a town i didn't even knew existed!

lurelin village

Yeah, no one gaf ever talks about that one so I was shocked when I found a village that wasn't for one of the main races, Kakariko, or Hateno.

Just beat the game. Don't know what the hell is gonna beat this for GOTY.

I still want to play the game but I doubt I'll end up doing 100% side quests and shrines. It just seems way too daunting and some of the side quests I've unlocked seem quite frankly boring to complete.

Just got done with Ruta. One of the more epic things I've ever seen a Zelda game do in terms of mechanics and presentation.

And that was my first dungeon. Good stuff. Cutscenes in general got an upgrade and I feel they're way better with the camera angels compared to previous Zelda's.

Loved the
elephant climbing up the mountain and taking position against Ganon.
Twas cool.

Yea an XP system would just amplify all the games problems. The best parts of the game are because the game doesn't constrain what you can do.

Has anyone experienced issues using the same exact ingredients in the same exact quantity and order but get different results? I had made an elixir that grants speed boost and once I made it and noticed how good it was I decided to make another one. I used the exact same items but the 2nd one of a lesser quality/level. A possible bug, but just wondering if anyone else have experienced it as well.

Got to the Gerudo Village.

The whole "only" female thing is interesting. I really like the look and feel of the village too. Link looking pretty good in those clothes eh :P

I noticed some variance in the effect length but the effect itself seemed to be consistent.

I have, my guess is when you make a dish, there is a random chance you will get a better version (listen to the music clue). I'm not sure how to make consistent superior dish though.

Anyone have trouble with the korok seed in the water area next to
Breman Peak, East Necluda
? It's one the basketball ones. I found it harder than usual because you couldn't just throw the stone in. Using stasis, I couldn't get the right distance to bat it in. It was like the game was taunting because it would inevitably bounce of the edge, no matter the angle.

Finally, after 15 minutes of trying, I thought of a new strategy: hit it the lowest amount that would shoot it passed the goal (4 or so) and stick an octoballon onto it at the last second of stasis. This slowed it down slightly. Then I jumped in the air and sniped in slow-mo when it was just above the goal. Another neat combo discovered. Not sure about combat implementation yet.

Despite the game looking super inconsistent
The brightish red, lava filled landscape of Death Mountain is beautiful i honestly don't even think it looks much worse than Ratchet and Clank on PS4,a next gen game with a similar bright red lava level.

its like, the lighting and art direction really flourish here, compared to other areas.
snow, canyon and rain look like ass :S
The rocks,particles,lava,and mountain.
this gives me hope because if BotW is the least we can expect from the Switch, good times ahead.

Im mostly talkimg about the city, abandoned mine and mountain area.

Not a bug, there's critical cooking in the game

I'm taking my sweet ass time with this game and I'm perfectly fine with that. I want to explore every inch of Hyrule. I may not finish this for MONTHS and I will have no regrets if that ends up being the case. The world is so rich and mysterious, it begs to be explored. I'm loving every damn minute.

Elixirs and meals made during a blood moon can be more powerful.

I've heard that cooking on the night of a blood moon has different effects on the results, that may be it?

What do the
four Divine Beast power upgrades
do?

I have Mipha's Grace and Revali's Gale. I haven't done the other two dungeons, but I'm at 113 shrines. I'm realizing the rewards of the last two dungeons maybe make shrine-hunting more fun. But I'm so close to 120 I kind of just want to finish the shrines. What powers am I missing out on?

The goron gives you a automatic countering sheild and the gerudo gives you a strong lightning attack

Did the music change when cooking? Sometimes you get a "critical craft" with improved stats.

I got the
master sword
, for all the the trouble it doesn't seem like it was worth it.
Does it also break?

Yeah, the first item was a Superior, but then the 2 ones using the same exact stuff were of lesser quality.

It's really, really
worth it when fighting Guardians. It can chop off their limbs. It also gets a pretty strong buff when inside of dungeons/fighting any Malice enemies (things made by Ganon).

It's a little OP in my opinion.
It does break, however it recharges after 10 minutes. Having that weapon means you can do weapon hoarding. Plus it doubles its strength against malice-induced foes.

Judt got to the
Gerudo Desert
. Hoping to clear the 3rd main dungeon by the end of the weekend, but so far I have 13 hearts and an additional circle of stamina. Still cant put the game down. :)

I found a quite hidden Korok Seed in Zora's Domain.
On the giant fish structure above the throne room, there's a Korok Seed in the flower thing on its head. I found this after escaping from the Lynel, I jumped like a madman and glided back to Zora's Domain lol
.

I got a type of "critical" dish like someone described before, it was a sun elixir thing but instead of one sun icon i got two, so I guess it was more effective. Must have been lucky! And it wasn't on a Blood Moon or anything.

Any particularly meaty or memorable ones? A fair number are the "bring me gourmet meat" variety, and I can pass on those.

Its hard to say since a lot of them open up other quests and bring context and round out other NPC stories. The Kakariko kids for example.

I just do them all. Or as much as possible.

I'm oh, 30 hours in and just about ready to start the camel divine beast. Been shrine hunting, treasure hunting and generally exploring and loving every second of it. I don't want this game to ever end. For me this is gaming perfection and Nintendo's crowning achievement. Well done guys. Come a long way since trading cards.

Omg that
Lynel
by Zara's Domain is legitimately one of the hardest fights I've ever had in a game not Soulsbourne related. Took him down though. Only had to eat 7 or 8 plates of food and break about 5 weapons, 2 shields, and a bow!

Also, super cool to see such a classic enemy brought back.

Critical cooking is legitimately a thing

There are worse versions of that if you look around :)

l think it's a giant disappointment personally. l was really looking forward to it as l love Snowpeak in Twilight Princess and from what l've seen of it it's the most uninteresting region in the game.

They get a lot nastier.
There's a blue one in Akkala that will wreck your shit.
On top of that, in the late game,
you can face up to a grand total of three black (or silver) Lynels if you enter the various coliseums in Hyrule Castle.

Also, kinda surprised how many people didn't know Lynels (and Hinox) were in ALBW. More people need to play that game; it's easily my favorite Zelda game after BOTW. Not faulting anyone, but it was (in my opinion) the best game on the 3DS.
