Is there something specific I need to do to get Kilton to sell the D
ark Link set
? I've found him in two seperate places now and his inventory hasn't changed. Do I have to buy out a certain amount of his stock? Or is it progression based?

So I just spent like half an hour completing the Ishto Soh shrine and I felt so satisfied at the convoluted solution I came up with to that demonic puzzle... until I saw videos on youtube afterwards and I am SCREAMING at the faster and more clever methods other people have used.

Goodnight.

I gave up trying to solve it and just shield jumped up the last set of stairs/blocks. Fuck that shrine.

You could try leaving stamps on the map to indicate the areas where you've been. I find the more I play, the better sense of direction I have.

I'd thought about doing that. Only used stamps for towers, shrines and tough enemies for now (guardians, a few mini bosses). The problem is, it wouldn't really help me I think. I know roughly where I've been. But have I already climbed that mountain? Did I search this lake for hidden treasures? What if there's a Fairy Fountain in the Woods? Better check in case I haven't been in this part of the forest before. Those are the questions I ask myself constantly.

In truth, I know this games is all about exploration and not intended for you to find every little secret. But in general I always try to find everything, because I absolutely hate to miss stuff. It's hard for me to let go of that habit.

I bought one of every item from him and sold over 1000 mon points of stuff to him.

So that might help.

I also visited him in 4 different towns.

I found this awesome weapon near Spring of Wisdom and I really don't want it to break. There was a way to repair them via certain Octorok? Where are they and how?

Did you find it lying somewhere in the open? If yes, those weapons will respawn. You will probably find another at some point, though. I haven't found but one truly unique weapon so far.

So, what are you guys trying to have on hand at all times?

For me, I have a Korok Leaf for rafts, something blunt to get materials, torch/wooden thing to light fires, elemental rod(s), a few good weapons for bosses/guardians, one hard hitting big damage two handed weapon for big foes and the rest replaceables for general enemies that I swap out when they go bad.

Anything I'm missing? Should I carry a woodcutters axe?

He gets something new each time you
defeat a Divine Beast. Bokoblin mask, Moblin, Lizalfos, and then Lynel. I'm not entirely sure what unlocks the Dark Link outfit but I'm 99% sure I bought everything in his stock before it showed up so...

It's not tied to how much has been purchased.

i don't feel like grinding out for Ancient Armor, what's the second best armor when approaching end game? Barbarian?

No reason to have all that really. You can chop down trees with any bladed weapon or bombs. Arrows of all kinds are really handy to have, as are flint and wood. Korok leaves are nice but pretty easy to find, so there's no reason to always carry one. I didn't find the rods to be too useful, and weapons are a dime a dozen, so I just kind of travel with what I pick up as I go.

How have I not thought about bombs for trees? I am so stupid.

I like having the leaf handy because you nevere know when you'll find a raft!

Clear all 4 dungeons. New stock is added every Dungeon you clear.

But do we get a unbreakable weapon at all in the game or nothing like that? I keep getting these awesome spears and what not, not the standard ones and I want to keep em :(
Don't worry. You'll find more as the time goes on. There will never be the right time to use them, so just use them to make clearing out a camp that much more memorable. :)

Honestly try without the HUD too, it feels like a different game. Pure, loose exploration.
I wish manuals were still a thing... I was wishing a couple days ago that you could get rid of the HUD. Now I learn you can... Damn. How did you discovered it, I tried all buttons?

Just would like to chime in, played the N64 Zeldas, and again on 3ds. Gave a couple others a chance they just never clicked with me. This one however I'm having an amazing time with. Frame rate aside the combat is just great, I'm really enjoying the puzzles, the big world, figuring out the right way to go about things etc. I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse when I say this but it really is such a great game. Playing on WiiU btw also.

Not unbreakable but you get a self repairing weapon and othera that can be repaired by a NPC and other weapons that seem to last forever.

Is there any reason to get all fire resist gear from
death mountain
? Is the chest piece good enough or should I fork over the 2700 rupees for the full set?

Huh. Never would've guessed that
there's a Shrine in Hyrule Castle

Every time I wathc someone play this game it feels like I've missed 2-3 other things, which encourages me to catch up.

There's a shrine I'm having trouble getting to.
East of Rito village, its I'm a small cave in the snow surrounded by ice water, but the openings aren't big enough for Cryonis to work.

Can someone tell me what the power you get from the
Rito divine beast
does? I never remembered the game telling me what it does but I see it on the side of my screen with three uses.

I believe you just have to swim. There's a gap on one of the sides of that cave that's a shorter distance from the shore to the shrine. Just swim and eat to stay alive.

Alternatively, wear
a full Snowquill Set
, which I believe protects against freezing.

Rule of thumb when popping in a new game: look at all the setting options before venturing forth.

Todays progress: Beat the boss of
Zora's
Domain! Did a bunch of sidequests there afterwards. Looked for the
trident
under the bridge for an hour. Eventually I realized "
magnesis
is a thing!" and got to it by making
water pillars
then pulling it up from there. Ventured towards the north, closer to Death Mountain. Found a few shrines and Koroks. This game is still amazing, now I need to work but all I can think about is Zelda...
