The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| It's 98 All Over Again

Likewise, it's perfectly valid for me to think that "but I can't keep the cool ones" is a dumb complaint and that, if as a reviewer, you aren't able to step out of your comfort zone, your opinion doesn't really hold a lot of weight to me.

I agree with you. It's the people that seem to think he should have his platform taken away from him that I find unreasonable.

|OT3| Paragliding into ya DMs like

Whenever I knock over a Moblin with a 2 handed weapon, my game could freeze for 0.5 to 1 second.
It's much worse on Fire/Snow mountains. I don't always get freezes outside of those places, but it's getting even worse there. My game froze for almost 2 seconds on Hebra. Thought it was gonna crash.

I had the game momentarily freeze while getting a spirit orb. The screen faded to black and stayed that way for like 20 seconds. I had to go back to the Switch dash then back. Got scared for a sec. Happened on handheld.

For the gerudo dungeon

I did the last authenticated slate for the dungeon, then one where you have to give electricity to two poles to open the door. I used a ball for one, and a trail of metal swords, shields and even a treasure chest lol and it worked. That was awesome

But was that the right way (as in, was there another way), or did I cheat my own way to it

Either way awesome xD

Maybe hughesta just thinks that his opinion is absurd? Why can Jim have an opinion but not hughesta?

Um, because only one of those opinions respects the other? I'm sure you think you're making a great point here, but it's nonsense. You're arguing for hughesta's right to have an opinion, when their opinion is literally "Jim's opinion is wrong."

You can fill both rows in full and have 4 stamina circles (if you rest at Gerudo or Goron village and pay extra)
What is the maximum number of (real) hearts and circles you can get via shrines? Is there a choice involved (meaning you have to choose between one or the other)?

Also, the game keeps giving me hints that someone
that isn't a goddess can gives you heart
...

Is it really useful to pay to sleep, seeing how a simple recipe like 1
max durian
+ 1
max radish (?)
, both easy to collect, gives you full recovery + 8-9 additional hearts...

...then how does he benefit from it exactly? lol

Getting your name out there doesn't really mean anything if you can't leverage it for something. And the guy is already fairly well known, I'm not sure how being the Armond White of video games is exactly beneficial to him.
At the end of the day it's driving attention toward him and what he does. You'd be surprised how much positivity can be derived from controversy for the source of said controversy.

Or maybe he just liked Horizon more? But no, that's crazy talk right? Not unexpected to see these kinds of posts in here but a bit disappointing nonetheless.

Maybe he just like games more story driven because I remember that Ori didn't clicked with him at all he said.
Oh well whatever.

Can the review stuff be kept in the review thread? Or just anywhere but here? I want to read about people actually playing the game, not discussing when a 7 means 7 or when 7 means 5.

Yeah totally agree. He's entitled to it but just gonna unfollow him on all his things.

But maybe he just enjoyed Horizon more. Personally I'm enjoying both games about the same. They both offer very different things. The two games aren't really anything alike outside of sporting an open world design.

But to shun him or his opinion seems a bit harsh. Like some in the thread have said. His experience mirrors theirs. The game has a 97 on meta and will most assuredly take home many GOTY awards.

His review, especially coming this late means jack shit to anyone honestly.

Maybe hughesta just thinks that his opinion is absurd? Why can Jim have an opinion but not hughesta?

He said that he respects his opinion when that is clearly not the case and "absurd" is a weird word to use for a 2.5 difference in score for a videogame.

You're absolutely right, I'll refrain from commenting on this any further.

There's
a second ball. You are not the first person I've seen who cheesed it like this, it's easy to get turned around and not realize you haven't been in the room with the second ball.

I'm not sure this is true, if only because I had like 80 shrines done by the time I did the Goron area and I was able to take off half its health in a single cycle while barely trying.
Maybe the gerudo boss is just a lot harder than all the other ones, because even with a triple attack boost, barbarian gear and the master sword it took a lot of hits to kill him (like, 4-5x as many as the other bosses and I used weaker weapons against those..)

By the way is there no way to stash items you don't necessarily need at the time but don't want to sell or because your inventory is full? For example my armor tab is getting pretty crowded. Will I just be able to have unlimited armors then?

the review thread is closed, and I think it's better to not make a new thread, things can get a bit ugly knowing some Zelda fans.

.... No, that wasn't the way they wanted you to do it.

There were two balls.

I have the Wind Waker Toon Link Smash ammino, is he supposed to give me a classic costume or only the newer toon link amiibo? I've scanned about five times , I just get materials and a bow.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| A 60 and a 70 and it still only dropped by 1 point

Didn't know a 60 came in but I knew when you said that it had to be Slant Magazine. I've never disagreed with a publication more across every game then them and I also can not stand their prose in their reviews.

He said that he respects his opinion when that is clearly not the case and "absurd" is a weird word to use for a 2.5 difference in score for a videogame.

I don't care about the score personally, but I'd call it absurd too from what I read. Just my opinion though.

97 is still outstanding though. Life's too short to get worked up over this kind of nonsense folks.

So I've seen people having a wolf companion. Never seen one. How do you get it?

Yeah I'm not sure. I've definitely found wolves so far, but I haven't been able to befriend them...because they just wanna kill me instead. :(

Wolf Link amiibo will spawn him though. I haven't used him yet, I'm kind of tempted to.

Yeah I find it hard to believe. The last boss I fought (the one in the Gerudo area) got stomped really hard.

You cannot max both hearts and stamina, one will always be slightly lower. The full stamina bar is three extra layers, the full hearts are like two rows of 15.

The hint you're talking about is
a statue near/in Hateno Village that a kid near the entrance gate can lead you to. You can sell your heart and stamina containers to it for 100 rupees, and then buy them back in whatever form you want (ie, sell two heart containers and then buy two stamina containers) for 120 rupees each. It essentially lets you "respec" Link or make the game harder for yourself if you want.

So the feature is locked behind Amiibo use? :-/

Armor is unlimited. There is a side quest that will give you storage in a fixed world location for an additional 3 weapons, 3 bows and 3 shields. It's not much, but it's something I guess.

Amiibo chests are completely random spawns. Classic gear (armor & weapons) are on the rare side of the spectrum.

Speaking of cheesing that part, you can even simply hop the fence the terminal is behind using Revali's Gale.

I've found the first moment where I was disappointed that Nintendo failed to account for something in the environmental interaction in this game. I was going on a path through a tropical-ish location when I stumbled upon two sisters being attacked by monsters. After saving them, I found out from them that they were searching for hearty truffles. One sister just wanted to go home, but the other sister said that they couldn't go home until they found some truffles. I happened to have some truffles on hand and so decided to drop them in front of them to see what kind of reaction they'd have. Turned out there was no reaction. This seems like an obvious oversight; surely there should be some kind of reaction from the sisters, even if it's just "it doesn't mean anything unless we find the truffles ourselves!"

I need an idea of how tough Ganon is. I'm pretty much ready to go and I have about 20 hearts. I'm going to upgrade my armor, buy some arrows and start cooking. Any tips before I go in?

Yeah. Each boss has been more challenging than the last, the third in particular kicked my ass. It might have just been the order I chose.

Those two appear all over the world getting attacked by Bokoblins, and they usually just serve as an indicator that truffles are nearby.

The one (well, two) times I got disappointed in a lack of interaction was when the game wouldn't let me ride
wooly rhinos or moose.
