huh, I thought someone said white enemies only spawn after you beat the game, but I guess that's not true because white Bokoblins are everywhere right now.

They have a stupid amount of HP

Yeah they appear after you git gud. Not bad drops, either. Usually a weapon with a special attribute and a piece of rare ore.

Skipped the entire first OT. I think I'm ready to finally jump in. Gonna start needing all of them sweet tips. Probably gonna open up my Amiibo finally too.

I'm at least feeling better about my combat ability now. It's been a good while since I've died. Gotten bailed out by Mipha a few times, but I'm getting there.

Can't wait for me to get killed by arrogance. Time to start on the northern end of the map.

Im having a blast just going round and exploring so far, all good fun, i am absolutly awful at timing parrys though, i've even gone back to the starting area with the weaker enemies to practice and i still suck.

I just gotta say, this game is incredible! Honestly one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Last few years I've been slowly loosing interest in games, but this game pulled me right back in. Been playing 3-4 hour sessions everyday. Haven't done that since I was a kid.

It depends on if you want to upgrade other armor sets. Some of them (like the ancient armor) require star fragments as well. IIRC the ancient armor requires 9 to be fully upgraded.
No, the Ancient Armor doesn't require star pieces for the upgrades, only Guardian parts. The star pieces are for the amiibo outfits and the
tunic of the wild, so for the classic green tunics.
And you need 10 star pieces to get 1 of the 3 armor parts to level 4 (max. upgrade level). So if you want, for example, a fully upgraded OoT or TWW outfit, you need 30 star pieces.

Yes it does.

Just beat the
Gerudo portion
. Yet another amazing experience to a phenominal game.
Thunderblight Ganon
is imo the hardest boss so far.

Nope. I'm talking about the
Tunic of the Wild set. This games iconic green tunic outfit.

Yeah but they're annoying to get. You can also farm silver Lynels for them.

Can't you only get that with amiibo or doing all 120 shrines though? I thought the fully upgraded ancient armor was the most powerful one to get through more feasible means

Must say in terms of main story this game is pretty bland. Link is surprisingly lacking in character too (I suppose it makes sense since
he has been raised to be a soldier since an early age
. Frankly previous games did the story better (skyward sword, twilight princess, windwaker etc).

Zelda's English voice acting is completely bullocks.

Did we confirm that chest rewards are randomized? I know this was a suspicion early on.

Another thing: so there are a finite number of chests, right? There's no way to discover new ones or respawn them? Once you've opened them all, you've opened them all, right?

I don't know about that. Some of his dialogue choices are hilarious.

Just started this on my Switch.

Man the opening is cool, but hoooooly shit at the framerate when you start walking down the cliff past the old man. It's insane.

I'm assuming the game is good enough to make me ignore it but mannnn.

The Plateau has the worst framerate consistently.

I chalk it up to optimization, or a lack thereof.

Finally got into the monster parts store, now where are those people that avoid battles when their weapons are too good?

Wasn't a fan.

Game is at its worst when its raining.

But stealth
is way easier in the rain as the raindrops mask your footsteps
+ when there is a thunderstorm you could
levitate a metal weapon/shield etc. over your enemies and watch them burn!

I completely and wholeheartedly disagree.

Hanging those beautiful 2nd tier magic rods and those guardian shields on your home is so damn beautiful. I wish there's a way to display lynel heads there lol.

It can happen multiple times in one night, which from experience gets a bit grating.

It works with it's normal system where it happens every x amount of days, but having it multiple times a night is just annoying.

This is clearly a bug. It's not normal, so hopefully Nintendo patches it soon.

60 hours in and I've seen the Blood Moon ten times or less.

Question on Climbing Gear: it indicates it makes you climb faster. But is it a net gain to climbing? What I mean is do you cover more distance before your stamina meter runs out because you are going faster? Or do you climb the same distance per stamina as normal, just you actually perform the motions faster (so wasting less real life time)?

You move further and faster per unit of stamina used. For instance, I can scale many cliffs with the climbing gear in the rain that I couldn't wearing anything else. Timing my leaps right before a slip ans whatnot.

The game really gives me World of Warcraft vibes sometime with all the exploration and the distinct zones.

I wish there was some kind of fog of war system though... I can't remember all the spots I went and those I still need to explore more thoroughly.

And that's why I don't understand they insisted on calling him Link in BotW instead of letting us choose his name like in every game before. So they can use the player character's name in the voiced cutscenes? Just don't say his name, problem solved. Say "Hey you" instead of Link, say hero/ guardian/ friend or whatever fits in the respective context. Wasn't the official explanation from Aonuma that they wanted the player to experience Link's story this time and therefore chose to give him a set name? Sorry, but that is a BS justification. Not only did we always have a set story and a given background for Link, but he hasn't more personality here than in any previous Zelda game. I could've understood it if the game was much more story-driven and Link's personality would be essential for dramatic purposes, but in this regard BotW doesn't deviate from former games in the series at all.

Okay, so is there anyway to climb while it's raining? I made it halfway up a cliff only for it to start raining and kill my progress.

Is there any significance to three apple trees in a row? I've run into it (and a durian version) several times. My gut feeling tells me a korok is involved.

Korok Seed
There's are three boulders in a row outside of the second lab and then a decline and and incline. The incline has a place for the boulder. Am I really supposed to just hit it in there? It's really frustrating and I just gave up. Stasis is not that precise and I spent a good 10-15 minutes trying to get it in the whole and then it slides out and goes back down the hill... fuck that.

There's worse areas, unfortunately. I really hope the game gets a performance patch.

I feel like they have to at least address the blood moon bug some people are experiencing as well as the moblin freezing issue so hopefully since they should be patching the game anyway maybe they'll sneak some other adjustments in there

Your gut is right.

The puzzle:
Two of the trees only have one fruit but one of them has many. You need to remove the fruit on the one that has many so that all three trees are identical. Make sure you don't accidentally grab the fruit that needs to stay on the tree.

Yeah, while the game ran well enough most times, the
Korok forest
is the least Nintendo that Nintendo ever Nintendo'd when it comes to performance. I can't believe it shipped without just being toned down, and even out of the dock it runs just as bad.

With that said, I found the performance about 90 percent acceptable at least, but it certainly could be ironed out better.
