It's hard to top last year the game was brand new.
That's the mix-up at that high level of play, but the reason that it was such a big mistake is that this is Fuudo. The guy relies on his patient play and footsies. In that crazy situation, it is uncharacteristic of him to rush in like that when the option was on deck. It's about mitigating risks, so it would have just been best to sit back and rely on what he does best instead of trying to close it out asap.
