LMAO this Lynel is some Dark Souls shit when you only have 4 hearts. Destroying my best weapons on parry flurries after only doing 1/8th damage to his health bar (I get the concept but weapons break like 10x too fast in this game). Died like 50 times but no rage, just obviously won't get accomplished at this point. I don't belong here yet. Sorry Zora peoples, gotta bail for now.

Potions man, the key to any situation. I killed him when I had four or five hearts. Def x3 and like 15 extra hearts potion. I was a tank. Almost ran out of weapons though.

he does have a weakness you can exploit, I'll let you find it. It's awesome. I'm a lynel killing machine now.

I just got the house. Its nice for this Link to have a place to call home after all he's been through. And some of my weapons look super cool hanging on the wall. Blue light filling the room!

Go there at night while it's raining, sneak around and collect all the arrows (they're stuck in trees). You can come back later and smash him when you've got better stuff.

I've been seeing a lot of people saying the final boss is disappointing. I thought it was pretty cool and a fun challenge, but I went to Ganon early so maybe it's lame if you play the "right" way.

If you don't finish all the dungeons, the boss of every dungeon you didn't clear shows up at the sanctum and you have to fight them all in a row followed by Calamity Ganon with no breaks. And of course, Calamity has more health. So if you go straight to Ganon, you're greeted with a 5 part boss rush which is pretty crazy.

If you do clear all the divine beasts, you only get 1 fight which I guess is pretty basic by Zelda standards and why people are disappointed.

Beast Ganon is pretty lame and just a set piece so I barely even count it as part of the final boss. Calamity is the real boss. If you were expecting more from this and that's why you're disappointed, I can understand.

I've been avoiding these threads like crazy, but having seen no hint to anything regarding the
triforce
, I'd like to know if it's in the game. Simple yes / no would be great, thanks!

no

I'm pretty sure it appears once but I don't want to say where just in case, it was story related and very quick though. I mean, it might peak in in some spots I didn't notice, but I myself was looking out for it and thought it odd I only recalled it once.

So without spoilers is the final battles at least really cool and epic? I keep hearing disappointment and it's concerning me. I loved Demise, final battle in Wind Waker, ALTTP, LA, OOT.

I can't for the life of me find the last great fairy fountain, in the gerudo desert. I'm inside a big skull where I just fought an assload of bokoblins...I've gone so far that I can't go further. Where the hell is it ?

Literally found it right after posting this...nevermind

JyTWbSd.gif

120 shrines complete! It was a sneaky one on Death Mountain.

Just beat the game. l'll have to give a more in depth opinion later, trying to articulate my thoughts, but basically l don't think the game is overrated. Absolutely fantastic work.

The southwest corner of the map. It's inside a big rib cage.

Edit: oh.

You don't need to fight the Lynel.

Hearty radish is your friend if you need a buff.
Took out this dude with 5 hearts. Then again, I consider myself a skilled gamer.

Not in my opinion, definitely one of the weaker elements of the game. Epic is very subjective though so others may disagree.

Keep trying. You got this. Get yourself a good shield and sword and you're golden. Timing will decide your fate. Oh and eat some food that gets you a bunch of yellow hearts. It helps.

Didn't you inherit the old mans house on the plateau? It's pretty cozy there. I go back often.

Fighting moblins can sometimes result in the worst frame drops in the game and even full screen freezes. It's really not acceptable.

It is really strange. It's not even slow down, it's drops of 10s of frames all at once. It definitely seems like a glitch rather than a performance issue.

Its cool enough. It just feels like there should be 1 extra phase where it gets really crazy.

There isnt a
Super Sentai/Power Rangers moment where all the Divine Beasts combine together to form a giant robot that slays a Ganon that is 20 stories tall with a powered up master sword or anything like that.

And Link doesn't have a
Magic DaggerFlute
that can
call a giant robotic Dragon to fight a Ganon that has combined his Giant Pig form with the 4 Divine Beasts into a giant "Megazord" type robot.

Although that would be insanely cool

Bro just sneak around and get them arrows. I was at four hearts when I did it.

One of the best things about this game being made IMO is the fact that it's been made this way. No longer will any game live up to expectations if there isn't full world interaction ability, it's set the standard for open world and it's an incredible high bar. Nintendo always do this when they go groundbreaking.

I can't get over how much fun it is just screwing around in this game and that's the part I usually hate the travelling!

I find myself not really worried about fast traveling everywhere and I'm glad they didn't put fast travel points on every main place so that you're required to travel a bit. This game is genius level amazing.

Man with Zelda I just want shit like in TP where you fight Iron Knuckles just before Ganon, and dungeon bosses having your Gohmas and this and that.

The road to the boss is super epic. The fight itself... Eh. lt's ok. l'd say boss fights are probably one of the only flaws in the game. They're all pretty limp.

It is hard to explain without spoiling...

I'm pretty sure everyone agrees Hyrule Castle is amazing.

It's just the Ganon fight which has people split.

It sounds like the climax is very good, just that it doesn't deliver in every way. This is why I haven't found a Zelda to be the absolute definitive Zelda, they get so close but there's always a few things where it doesn't 100% deliver.

thats what you think until you find a giant silver club wielding lynel that wrecks your shit

Wait till you meet the silver one beat the game and those still beat my ass.

Honestly the Ganon fight is really lame if you do the dungeons first. The second half of the fight also sucks.

The dungeon bosses are garbage straight up. They look sorta cool and were cool for one bout, but man otherwise super disappointing. If they can take BOTW but actually do more and more varied dungeons with different boss fights it would so insanely be my favorite game ever. Right now I like Skyward Sword and others more.

Still can't take a Lynel lmao, they're just pure fucking insanity.

It's all about learning their attacks. It's best to stay close to them because they always swing horizontally, meaning frequent back flips will get you easy flurry strikes. When he runs away and comes back at you head on, you have to side step. Arrows to the face work well too to stun them but your aim has to be pretty good. I can take them confidently now as long as I have a few strong weapons. Still, they can two-shot me really easily so they're always a challenge.

It's something on my to do list. I like that they're tough. I think in some aspects this game will have good longevity.

Gerudo boss is honestly the best.

Anyone else have a feeling that the expansion dungeon(s) in the DLC is going to be a lot more like traditional Zelda dungeons? That's my guess anyway.

Question regarding one of the special costumes:
How do you get Kilton to sell the Dark Link costume? I've bought almost all of his other stuff at this point but he just keeps selling me the same stuff. Is it just random?

Nothing's a requirement clearly as shown by this game. The question I ask myself though is if anything in BOTW better than the classic Zelda dungeon and the answer for me is no. The beasts are not better. The shrines are not a good replacement. So then why take away something that was the pinnacle of game design in the series, just for the sake of being different? Everything can work just the same in this game but with better designed levels and segments which dungeons would provide.

My dream game is this but mixed with the more directed gameplay sequences of past zelda games. Obviously using the new physics based mechanics.
Amen.
If Nintendo, being impressed by the gushing praise BotW receives from critics and gamers alike, comes to the conclusion that the classic dungeons and focused, cohesive storytelling are no longer needed in the series, then I'm out. The shrines had some really clever puzzles, but sadly they were devoid of any charme or atmosphere. The divine beasts at least had different music but they also looked nearly the same (as did the bosses, just with different skins applied) and were much, much too short. Everyone of them pales in comparison to what previous entries of the series are offering. Overall I feel ALbW did the whole reformulation of the concept much better.

Do fish respawn in this game? Doing a side quest where I need to make a recipe and acidentally made the wrong recipe and now salmon won't respawn in the same place. Not sure where to get more. Any ideas?

Any tips for the Kass riddle where you have to
shoot an arrow through two rings? I've been trying to stand far away, aim at the top one and hope my arrow falls into the bottom one but this seems more difficult than it should be.

Yeah, I've been saying this for awhile now. I'll be surprised if it isn't traditional.

Amen.

A Link Between Worlds is honestly one of my least favorite games in the series. I'll take the Divine Beasts any day over those dungeons. They're far more interesting, even if they don't hold a candle to some of the best Zelda dungeons of the past. I was actually really worried ALBW was going to be the blueprint for BotW and I couldn't be happier to see that wasn't the case.

Same opinion. What's here doesn't match the craft of the typical Zelda dungeon. The divine beast word rotation was interesting, but not a solid replacement.

And the bosses inside the beasts are meh. Mostly small AI with a few simple patterns to dodge. Very little need for clever tool use from my memory. Super simple and straight forward.

In almost every modern Zelda game, the dungeon's unique item is the only way to defeat its boss. That's not clever. That's actually even more simple and straightforward than the tactics available to take down the bosses in BotW.

There is one that is more side on that worked for me, I tried that long shot and definitely made it but no deal so maybe you're doing the same as me? It's pretty easy.
