There are a few white spawns in Tabantha Tundra.

For blue there's one in the Colosseum Ruins.

I had a regular one spawn there. Guess I haven't fought enough of them yet.

That, or get some armor to increase your strength. A good weapon stockpile is essential, too.

Anyone having run into a diamond? I managed to find one soon after getting of The Great Plateau and now 50 hours later that's still the only I have...

Found a couple in treasure chests in shrines, found around 6-7 in the black stones. Do the black stones have a set content or is it RNG? I have marked the spots on the map where I found diamonds in case they respawn after a blood moon. If it's RNG, I guess the best way would be to beat a lot of Talus, but I'm not sure I ever got diamonds from them.

You can get diamonds in some side quests too, an easy one is

If combat is giving you trouble, try stealth. The Sheikah armor gives you max stealth and stealth attacks do heavy damage.

Probably mentioned before but has anyone had a staredown with a Lynel? I was on my third one (bastards are still tough to fight every single time), saved right before we fought. On restart after dying, I realize he's literally just staring at me from a short distance since I'm not moving... like he's sorting out what I am and my intentions. As soon as I draw my weapon, he charges at me in a rage. Feels like something straight out of Predator.

This fucking game.

This happens to me all the time! What are you using? I use either split Joy-Con or Joy-Con grip.

Look at the ?, it starts white and then is filled up with a red colour. When it's entirely red he draws his weapon.

sheikah armor is not combat armor, you just use that one for sneaking and immediately change to the soldier armor or another one with high defense

Good soundtrack. Having come off TP, I don't think that one's theme-and-variations structure works as well for Zelda as it does for Mario. SS is tough to beat, but luckily BotW goes in a very different direction.

Weird that they kept the trailer music with its "abrupt cut" though, guess it was intentional after all.

Red chu chus are red because they are filled with lava. Therefore... they'd be found on or near a place with lava. There's your hint without giving it away

There is a painter in Kakariko Village, and if you help him on his quest, he will show up to stables and other places around the world painting, and give you tips on where to find the memories that are nearby. He at least points you in the right direction.

AFAIK it's the same, it's just streaming the input to your gamepad instead of the tv

Unless it's actually rendering and streaming 480p to the Gamepad for off-TV play, I'd assume it's the same. I've only done a small amount on the Gamepad, and didn't really notice any difference.

Just my two cents: the Wii U gamepad's screen is so terrible that (couple with the low res obfuscating game detail) I don't think any small improvement in performance is worth it. I have played close to zero games on the gamepad whereas I was literally all weekend playing on the Switch in handheld mode.

Also to Mega yea I couldn't agree more the Gamepads screen is terrible, I've hated it since launch day, but I'm also sharing the TV and kinda watching Hannibal with my SO at the same time so It gets the job done for now. Very jealous of the Switch users, I can't imagine playing a game like this completely portable on a nice looking screen.

So apparently the reason why BOTW is having frame drops is because of the Wi-Fi. An anonomous developers said that. Here is the exerpt: "Having them on multiple games like that, and in none of them they made sense, got me thinking. At home I turn on WiFi only when I need it basically, so it’s not always available. I've had that happen too, but the staredown is different. Its literally waiting for you to try something...

Your damage output never becomes OP. It's more that damage reductions turns 99% of enemy attacks down to 1/4th of a Heart.

Single biggest disappointing moment in the game. Discovering a

4th kind of Bokoblin, and then having it deal 1/4th of a heart to me.

Seems like a disappointment but Nintendo knew it could not completely make the game inaccessible to young and casual players. It's not Dark Souls! And this is still the hardest Zelda ever. I think it's on us to exercise some restraint and the options to keep the game challenging are a lot better than past Zelda games. Things I personally do or plan to implement:

-Have the Sheikah Sensor off. For one, it's a current-gen mechanic that automates and dumbs down exploration. Second, its beeping is seriously annoying.

-Don't collect fairies.

-Limit food intake.

-Don't use defense potions.

-wear less powerful gear.

-more stamina upgrades, less hearts.

The club weilding lynels are real peices of work, though it seems like parrying works better than flurry rushes on thier part. I was exploring some mountains when I came across one. Beat him then there was a lance lynel on the other peak, I just used a guardian arrow on him.

This is where I'm at. I've done all the shrines, beasts, and Gannon. The only things left are collecting and upgrading armor, finding Korok seeds, the compendium, and the smaller side quests. I could easily spend another 70 hours doing that, but I'm burning myself out by spending all my free time with this. I think this is the first time a game has literally worn me out before I've gotten bored of it. Time to put it down and re-visit in small doses.

Yeah, I was hoping to use an Ancient arrow and make it easy-peasy but the arrow disintegrated him which stopped the bow from dropping.

Any other ways as I don't think my current Link is up for a head-to-head fight with a Lynel?
