adam baldwin is a gamergator

I was just gonna mention this. I hereby propose that we replace whatever Adam Baldwin gifs are left with the far more superior Amos from the Expanse gifs.

If this is your way to defend his bigotry and appearing on Glenn fucking Beck, you're doing terrible job at it.

Was this somewhat recent? I thought Glenn Beck was pulling back on the craziness after the shit show that was 2016.

Fuck what? Even if you ignore his far right bullshit he's still aggressive, condescending and ignorant.

Just watch him go bananas for 30 mins over the PS4pro announcement.

Glad that his attempts to turn KF into video game's Breitbart News failed.

Colin was fucking right? How self centered can one person be? Glad he's out, enjoying that Polygon are making fun of him.

He probably thinks he has a big career in politics ahead of him because he was on the radio twice.

He should soon find out that he's just another white supremacist with a hint of conspiracy theorist in there and not as fucking special as he thinks.

Opinions, right? How do they work?

I disagree with him over 50% of the time, but he's very good at laying out cause & effect for his arguments. I can definitely see his train of thought on a matter. That makes him a very eloquent speak in my eyes and someone worth listening to.

He seems like someone who's easy to talk to and someone you can openly disagree with without the whole touchy feeling bullshit. He also seems to take criticism very well, unlike most people, and doesn't simply get sad when he can't please 100% of the people watching him.

The Glen Beck thing... pretty amazing. Still laughing about that.

So what is the "right context"? Is it everything that you don't care about? Is it times and places that don't affect you at all?

"in the right context" sounds about the same as "it's not the right time to talk about gun violence", every single time there is ever a shooting.

It's literally "just ignore them and they'll go away"

Provide the right "context" if you want people to stop railing against you.

Example of right context? Nazi rally against jews. Everyone should stand against them. Some right wing nutjob asking to ban Islam in the US. Everyone should stand up against him/her.

Etc. etc.

btw what's the wrong context

A simple, stupid, everyday joke like Colin's tweet.

Big fan of both Colin and Greg and while I don't like what Colin says sometimes I never thought he was a bad person. I saw the tweet he did and I didn't think it was funny but I also didn't think he was being sexist or at least I didn't think it was his intention. Either way, I didn't know Greg responded to it and I didn't know it became a big deal. Can anyone update me on the situation?

Greg wrote a letter condemning it and he said he talked to Colin at length about it. A lot of fans accused the KF crew of backstabbing Colin for not standing up for him. Colin responded by calling people "humorless sacks of shit." Then Colin chose not to go to PAX East so he wouldn't be a distraction. Meanwhile, Colin went on the Rubin Report and talked on the radio with Glenn Beck.By then it was clear Colin was gaining a strong right wing fan base that was turning on KF and defending Colin, and it was clear Colin wanted to venture into politics more than ever. So it was inevitable.

That's my thought. Are they buying Colin out or does he still own part of Kinda Funny?

Who care about the politics...I've always been interested how the business side of these pateron/gaming channels work.

BTW, he resigned (ie quit). It doesn't' sound like he was fired. Where are people getting that from?

Sad so many people is "happy" that someone lost his job. For sure you either never work, or had to pay bills for family.

huh he resigned though? it seems like he already has his eggs in a row as well so don't see why I should be sad for him.

Not a simple, stupid, everyday joke.
should we sit down and accept bigotry until it becomes a genocidal or national incident? Sitting idly by and not challenging bigoted ideals leads to those situations.

pls stop. this is painful.

You're too kind.

Honest question, should we sit down and accept bigotry until it becomes a genocidal or national incident? Sitting idly by and not challenging bigoted ideals leads to those situations.

I disagree with the notion that such a joke is bigotry or champions bigoted ideals in anyway. Or can lead to oppression against women in any way either.

He also seems to take criticism very well.

This whole situation started because he couldnt take criticism well. And its not the first. You could check back when people were criticizing his incorrect assumptions about the PS4 Pro and trying to correct him (politely may i add) and him acting like he was being attacked and took his ball and went home.

How posted that on International Women's Day. He knew it was International Women's Day. In what world is that not sexist?

Because I don't believe he doesn't respect women and sometimes people make jokes like that. I'm not excusing what he said and I don't blame people for being mad. I am just saying how I feel about it and you and plenty of other people can too and I'll respect your thoughts as I hope you will respect mine. He made a bad joke and I'm not convinced he is a piece of shit because of it. Pretty much end of story on that one. Now what's all this about Greg responding and it becoming a big thing? Like I said, I follow them and saw the tweet but did not know it blew up

Justin Davis for starters. That top answer to Colin's tweet, rushing to shame him, totally came off as an attack and made me rethink whether I want to watch Gamescoop anymore.
...or it was a call out for Colin doing something unquestionably shitty. I don't see how you can read his reply and consider that an attack

The guy should work with people on the same page as him.

I'm unfamiliar with his work, but if he wants to make a living being funny, he shouldn't apologize either.

Those are just examples. He was asking what the right context is. So you're saying there are only two situations ever where it is okay to speak out on behalf of oppressed or marginalized people, and those are the ones you listed? You did say "etc etc", and I guess Colin taking shots at women on International Womens Day would certainly fall under "etc", but then you call his tweet a "simple every day joke". Come up with an actual explanation of where this arbitrary line you decided to draw is, or please drop it.

So only extreme examples warrant sticking up for the marginalized?

We stick up for vulnerable people because the injustices they face permeate through all of society.

Sad so many people is "happy" that someone lost his job. For sure you either never work, or had to pay bills for family.

He resigned (although I think he got the sign that KF was ready to move on from him). But either way, he's a pretty well known figure in the gaming journalism community and he's gaining steam as a right wing journalist, so I expect him to find work pretty easy.

So on a scale of 1 to the Armenian genocide, how appropriate is it right now to talk about Colin's continued foray into hot take right wing politics?

Sad so many people is "happy" that someone lost his job. For sure you either never work, or had to pay bills for family.

He resigned and seems he has at least one job opportunity. And when you are on a company, a public company, which it's image is part of their business, you should care what you say and what you do.

So is on him.

And I actually lost my job a couple of months back, and it wasn't even my fault, unlike in this case. So yeah, I know what it is.

This is sort of upsetting to me, i'm probably part of the minority who didn't mind his views on games and politics.

Gonna miss the PS XOXO podcast.

He just dipped out of his own company once the going got tough.

Ah so your line is genocide.

Goooootcha.

i can't believe you can perpetuate that sexist bullshit when you have a wife and a daughter of your own

Are you fucking kidding me with this shit

I think people need to lighten up. It's hardly an attack on women, it's just a joke. Yes, men think that women talk a lot, it's a common thing. Just like women think that men are pigs, and most assume the French are arrogant and Russians are evil. Making a joke about these prejudices should be okay if it's sarcasm.

The only issue with this tweet is that Kevin has a bad history of saying bad things which puts this tweet on a wrong context. I think that him saying that it's obviously a joke is a good enough excuse.

But he should quit if his opinions don't mesh with the group though.

Pretty much stopped listening to PS I love you because of Colins negative spin on everything, I hope KFG can find a good replacement...

The argument here is that the joke was sexist (which it is).

Oh, and he didn't apologize for it, either.
