I find it silly how one has to go into the loading screen to see their stats, that stuff should in the menu that the player can access on the fly.

Also how do I trigger a star fragment to fall? Really stupid how this is the hardest item to grind for if you don't have the right amiibo for it.

Just beat the game
Not much of a payoff for defeating Ganon. It really feels like you go on a massive journey to get the true ending, with little reward to show for it. The additional cutscene after the credits was not worth the effort of tracking down the lost memories.

I was hoping for a post game of some sorts, perhaps a world where the Guardians are no longer controlled by Ganon and the Yiga clan backs off. That would make for easier exploration of the world, which is the best part of the game.

I'll probably look into doing more town-based sidequests when I return to the game, seems like people are generally positive about them.

Probably one of the most addictive games I've ever played. I had multiple 5 hour play sessions where I never once got bored or ran out of things to do. The first 10 hours or so were magical, never experienced anything like the wonder I felt going through the world for the first time. That feeling tapered off by the end but Nintendo deserves credit for making me feel something I never felt while playing another game.

Just beat the main story but have a TON left to do after 80ish hours. Just wanted to make room for Nier Automata for now. I'll be back BotW!

That was one of my favorite things in the game so far. I went there pretty early following the Robbie quest, even though that whole zone really shouldn't be your first destination. But I was real glad to have done it, I let that quest chain dictate my Beast order. Added a really cool sense of permanent progression to the main quest. After I beat each Beast I had the reward of going back to see how Tarrey had grown waiting for me.

This quest finally got me to climb Death Mountain. I had been putting it off for so long and it's my last Beast

Sort of off topic, but today the management from Symphony of the Goddesses released their schedule for stops this year. 5% discount if you get tickets now and they're gonna be playing new arrangements from BotW. My sister is awesome and got us both tickets for the San Diego Comic Con showing at the very goddamn front and in the center. Gonna be awesome.

I went to one last year and it was an incredible experience. Def going this time for some BoTW goodness.

I thought the 13th memory you get after getting the initial 12 made it worth it. loved that scene. loved everything about how they portrayed Zelda and her struggle (except the VA). I was definitely bummed about no end game though. took the wind out of my sails getting booted to the main menu and then loading my save to see link standing just before the final boss.

More and more I'm wondering how much involvement Monolithsoft had with this game. There's quite a lot in this game that reminds me of Xenoblade (in a good way)! Or maybe it's just Nintendo devs taking inspiration from other Nintendo devs.

I'm confused about attack power vs multiplier on items.

Let's say I have two bows: Falcon Bow [34] [Attack Up + 14], and a Great Eagle Bow [28ˣ³]. Which is the more powerful in this case?

The X3 means you shoot 3 arrows simultaneously. It only wastes 1 arrow so the better one will be the Great Eagle Bow.

Speaking of fire arrows...
That feeling when instead of using fire arrows to melt ice blocks I was setting up campfires at their base whilst holding a flaming sword to slooooowly melt the ice.

Holding a flame-imbued weapon melts the ice block at just the same rate even without the campfire. No resources wasted. :P

I just completed the
4 shrines
at the Great Plateau. Can I still
cook the stew
to get the
warm doublet
from the old man?

Can we take a moment and talk about how brilliant the lost woods puzzle is? No hints no text it just throws you in and gives you two things.

A torch and a place to light it. I just thought it was a light source but after about 4 or 5 failed attempts I started to look for any signs of a correct way to go I knew that I could go fairly far left after my repeated failures so I started there. I tried a few different things like keeping my path lined up with the tree faces but I was still stumped

Finally I stopped and reassessed the situation. I knew the game had given me a torch and fire and then while I was thinking I noticed the wind was blowing the torch left. So I followed it's direction I then noticed the direction of the embers had changed. So I shifted direction and I eventually wound up at the Deku tree. The wind guided me through the lost woods in an invisible way

The game so subtly gave you the tools to find the answer and then made brilliant use of the physics engine to bring you to your destination it absolutely blew me away.

This is the kind of mind bending think outside the box puzzle that I love in Zelda and other games and it's been missing for so long.
Wow I did not know this. I got to the deku tree a different way.

When you go off track the music gets louder and the fog gets thicker, when that happens you have a solid 2 seconds to turn around and get back on track.

So I've done (I think) all the main stuff (Beasts, memories, Lost Woods, at least found all the Great Fairies, upgraded my runes), and I'm considering an assault on the castle. Is there any reason to hold off? I have a bunch of stuff I still want to do in the world (didn't even attempt any of the labyrinths yet), but will defeating Ganon lock anything off? How's the world change after I cast down the Calamity?

Anyone?

only done like 6 shrines total but game really seems to want me to kill and eat basically everything i come across. Feels a bit mean spirited (or psychotic depending on your methods), so im only eating meat that I steal from enemy camps :(
Link really gives no fucks in this game

I am actually surprised that of all zeldas this is the one lacking the fishing rod

It needed it, too. I have way, way less fish than I do meat.

I followed
the animals. The direction they dart off in after they see you led me straight to the path.

I just followed the
wind-blown pollen.

You could play the game as a vegetarian if you wanted to.

You have a fishing rod in this game, it's just shaped like a bomb for some reason

Wait what's the colosseum?

It's a decayed architectural structure north of the plateau, famous of its tough enemies and notably the Lynels that can be found in the center, a way of testing your skill in a sort of gladiator match with the toughest enemy in the game.

Naturally it spawns red at first, once you beat a red one the next to spawn becomes blue, then white, and silver should appear next but it's not there yet for me.
