Damn I'm fucking heart broken and have sheded a few tears today over this. These two guys have literally been with me ever since I was 12 and have helped me through hard times for 8 years of my life. They have been a big influence for my gaming career and my life as a matter a fact. They have in a way made me who I am today, a gamer.
Yet I come in this thread expect to share hard times with fellow kinda funny and beyond fans and yet I'm scared to. This thread is full of so much hate that it's unbelievable. People are comparing Colin to a nazi and calling him a cunt. I feel like if I talk about how Colin is my favorite person in game media I will get hate or hell mabey even get banned because I support a "nazi".
I want to create a thread about the good times we have with grolin, but it will get flooded with people that hate him. Why can't we seperate a entertainer with his political views. No idea. People keep posting who his newest follows but you can't actually tell if he followed him today. He could very well have done it a few days ago prior to JonTron's meltdown.
Of course they'll still be friends. Greg said as much. He confirmed Colin and Greg still live together and that's not really changing and that the only thing that does change is that Colin and Greg don't work together anymore.

I do think however that taxes should be as low as possible and they government should do better in making sure they arent wasting money. How much they collect isnt important if it's spent wisely.

If you feel that's the way people should act, then it should also apply to your boy Colin. His attitudes, especially since the election, have been anything BUT "love one another". He's been incessantly trolling people and belittling their frustrations or concerns, and in general he has done more than his fair share of contributing to the toxic nature of any kind of games/politics discussion he's been involved with in the past few months.

Honestly, before I joined gaf, I wasn't even aware there was any controversy surrounding Colin. He was just another video game talking head. I kind of like the guy, so to see so many people shitting on him for pages after pages just kind of sickens me. His political ideas are par for the course for libertarians, and to see him being labeled as a white nationalist or nazi sympathesizer for what are, honestly, not very controversial opinions, just kind of makes me sad. Partially for him, but mostly that any meaningful discourse about his departure is basically impossible at this point. All I want I to talk about is who should replace him on PSILY. Lol.

Unless he specifically stated he is also giving up his quarter ownership in Kinda Funny, he still is going to make money from the show in some way. All the people reupping their Patreon subs today and feeling "good" about doing that need to keep that in mind.
All he did was leave the shows they do, right? The front end. Just last week on one of his shows he was talking about how all four of them are the owners of Kinda Funny.
I just started listening to the shows and his conversation/interviews and at times it was entertaining. But to me, any four man group has to try and reach 1Up Yours territory if you want me to lavish praise on you and your "product".*
I will say, one heck of a 12 day or so stretch for me learning all about this stuff about Kinda Funny.
*And it was cool to find out John Davison was working with Rolling Stone via Glixel.

Like real talk, it is crushing to realize an idol isn't perfect.
And for a lot of people, Colin and his political ideology is much more dangerous for them and their well being than it might be to you.
For them, you can't just separate an entertainer and their political views, because it directly affects how the world sees and treats them. It's not some "random government thing" that doesn't matter to anyone. Real people, flesh and blood, are affected by these kinds of politics. Real people who are tired of constantly being mistreated, ignored, butt of jokes, everything. And see someone, a somewhat prominent figure in a specific community they are a part of, not even willing to take a single day off from being an asshole to recognize them. You wonder why they turn on him.
So yeah, I'm sorry that your idol turned out to be an asshole. You want to make a thread remembering him, give it a hell of a lot of time because there are some people with some genuine grievances that aren't going to go away any time in the near future.

Is Colin a bad person? I dont really know, and neither do you, unless you think being an outspoken conservative makes you a bad person. But by most indications, he's a good dude that is very loyal to his friends.

Honest question, did you ask your parents to just love each other and all people? Did you ask them to not vote for a platform running on dicking over people, hurting millions and taking away civil rights, separating families and discriminating against multiple minority groups? Why do these pleas of "can't we just all get along??" always come from the groups with the privilege who vote to dick over and oppress people telling the oppressed to just take it and shut up? One mod already noted they're watching the thread. Seems like they moved away from a "ban on sight" approach and are adopting a more "wait and see" system.
I mean if you really have a problem, go PM one. Email the support inbox. Complaining about the lack of them in the thread isn't going to do anything, aside from maybe getting it locked faster, which arguably would be in your favor.

So far this video is pretty sad to watch. Especially when Colin shows up :/
But for real if you watch the video it really seems like he left (perhaps partially due to a growing political divide between the other guys) and was not in any way fired or asked to leave. And hell, it's not like we didn't have the feeling that his heart wasn't in it for a long time now.
