Simple question:
I'm quite early in the game but I have many different types of ores I've collected. I have very little money but it seems that since nearly no enemies drop rupees that this is the new system to earn rupees. Without spoilers, I just want to know if I should sell the following:
So far I've just been selling Bobokin Horns and Fangs for money since I know I can get more. Is there crafting or something I'll need to save the aforementioned list for? Lastly, I managed to get 3 Hinox Toenails and 1 Hinox Tooth. What do I do with these?
Let me put it this way: you will be able to use every single item for some useful stuff later. But since there is an infinite amount of those things in the game I'd recommend to sell maybe a few of those, but also always keep a steady amount of them in your pockets.

Yesterday I tried to take an enemy camp using only a shield, runes and the weapons I could steal from the enemies there (and no food). There were several Bokoblin archers, 5 Ice Keeses, 3 silver Bokoblins, 3 Lizalfos hiding behind the enemy camp which I hadn´t seen and 3-4 black Bokoblins. I parried a Triple Boomerang of one of the Lizalfos, then used it to cut some trees on top of 2 Bokoblins and the fallen trees altered the landscape so the enemies couldn´t rush to outnumber me. Stealing their weapons and thworing them at their faces was very satisfying After a lot of cool interactions only 2 Silver Bokoblins and 2 Ice Keeses were left, so I went into the Skull Cave to take the fight to them and...a Blood Moon happened. So I was suddenly standing unarmed in the middle of 10+ high level enemies. I returned to the tree trap and continued with the fight. It was awesome how, if I got too far away from the camp, the Silver Bokoblins would just say "fuck it" , turn around and return to the camp, but when i got close they would charge in leading the Lizalfos and Black Bokoblins. I managed to kill everyone but a Silver Bokoblin, who hit me with a Dragon Club and threw me off a cliff. I ragdolled for like 10 seconds and died but Mipha´s power resurrected me, though I kept on getting fall damage. Somehow I could open the paraglider which saved me from certain death. I climbed back up to the camp again and threw all the weapons in the floor one by one to the Bokoblin´s face, until I stole it´s club and killed it. The whole fight took me like 20 minutes and was tense and fun as hell. It was also a great training for Eventide Island, hope I can finally beat it today.
BTW, if it wasn´t for weapon durability I wouldn´t have even thought about this, I love stealing enemy weapons and breaking them so they´re disarmed. Also, breaking weapons feels soooo good!!

Pretty sure you can craft with pretty much everything, for upgrading clothes, but selling some of it like ores to keep cash flow going is fair, imo. Nothing is impossible to grind.
I really liked that aspect, as well. But it's just too short. We don't get enough exposure at the end. It just... ends. After Skyward Sword's excellent ending, this one feels kind of rushed in comparison. Heck, even the Staff Roll is just a collection of tracks, instead of this huge orchestral and epic suite used in Skyward Sword.
White Hawk (maybe the name´s different in english): I´ve gone to the tree the little Rito child told me, spotted a hawk in the sky with nothing exceptional, shot it down but it only spawned meat. I think this wasn´t the White Hawk I´m after, but waited for some time around the tree and nothing happened.
Blood Moon pedestal: I´ve stood on the pedestal while the Blood Moon was in the sky and nothing happened. Do I have to be already standing there when the cutscene plays? This will take some time and planning so I don´t want to waste it for anything...
While the ball falls down into the maze, turn the maze so that the ball will directly land in the middle. Now jump over to the maze and use stasis on the ball to throw it to the other side. Easy.
If the "proper" solution doesn't work for you, search for a different one. This game lets you solve pretty much everything in a hundred different ways.
Do great fairy enhancements the special bonuses of armor. Like does climbing speed go up even more when the climbing cap is enhanced? Or is it just an armor bonus (plus eventual set bonus)?

I´m an idiot as soon as I heard the song I thought I might
have to be nude to fulfill the part of repeating your rebirth, but went to the pedestal fully armored and stood there until the BM disappeared scratching my head.
OK, guys, ready to get your minds blown? You want to know how I solved that one?
Seriously, you're going to flip out.
I turned the Wii U gamepad 180 degrees upside down, which did the exact same to the maze, let the ball fall on the completely flat underside of the maze, then just rolled it to the edge and flicked it up.

Want to know how I solved it? By attempting to do exactly this for about 5 minutes BUT THE MOTION CONTROLS IN PORTABLE MODE WERE SO FUCKING BAD I COULDN'T EVEN DO THIS WITHOUT SENDING THE BALL FLYING THIS FUCKING GAME.
In the end I got lucky and one of the times I sent the ball flying it happened to come down and land in the right place.

If it's the one where the child tells you the story her grandpa told her about seeing a giant white bird with something in its chest then you are looking for a large things shaped like a bird. The perspective you get from that tree helps. Look int he direction she said her grandpa was looking.

The song mentions there being nothing between you and the night air. Nothing at all. Nothing at all. *simpsons .gif*

The care they put in this world is still surprising. Even korok puzzles, by following a formula, manage to be different enough to be fun to me.
Eveywhere you go, you can feel the developers have been there.
I'm really loving this game.
Regarding the motion control shrines, is there a difference between how it controls on Wii U and Switch. I'm on Wii U and those shrines are a piece of cake. Really responsive motion controls.
I'm on Switch and the only motion control shrine I had a hard time with was the one where you had to get three balls into three different holes on a board.
If you twist it to the side as the ball falls it will fall into the final hall in the maze I found that even easier than flipping the shrine upside down.
That was one of the first quests I found too but I thought screw it and got it over with. It's actually not too bad and
you get the Zora armor that helps you swim better (and up waterfalls)
so pretty handy. The dungeon is pretty good but the boss can be a little tricky at first but isn't too bad when you learn his attack patterns, just make sure you have
So I'm about 35+ hours so far in the game. Just completed the first
Zora
dungeon and I'm starting to feel indifferent to it all now which is kind of scary because I've never felt this way with a Zelda game before. Not even Skyward Sword. With Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword I would purposefully stop myself from playing for a couple days to prolong the experience but with the BoTW I'm starting to feel like it's a slog now to get through.
At first, I was in love with the game, at least during the first 15-20 hours. I couldn't remember the last time a game made me stay up for hours and not knowing where the time had gone.
After the 20+ hour mark everything started to feel samey to me and certain mechanics became frustrating more than fun.
It's a great game don't get me wrong but I'm now starting to bore of the same repetitive shrines which is a worry I had for months before the game had come out. I was indifferent about the item durability at first and didn't care for it, but can now see how frustrating it is. The story so far doesn't feel as grand or fleshed out as previous games in the series.
I have enjoyed the side quests so far but I feel like a lot of them can barely register as a side quest. For example, there's a sidequest at
Zora's Domain where after gaining the Zora armour you need to dive into the water below.
Does that really consitutate as a side quest?
The music is almost non-existent which makes it definitely the weakest OST in the series for me. There are a few tracks which sound amazing but there's too few of them and it's nothing too memorable.
There's also the lack of enemy variety. Where are the Gibdo's, ReDeads, LikeLike, Wallmasters, Darknuts, Deku Baba's, etc?
However, I think the most dissapointing aspect are the dungeon(s). They are essentially 3 or 4 room glorified larger shrines. I would have loved if this game had traditional themed dungeons with a structure, secret item, mini boss and final boss.
I don't want to be too negative because there's a lot I do like about the game. The sense of exploration and adventure is second to none, the visuals and vistas, the enemy encounters can be fun as long as your item doesn't break, I like the challenge the game gives which makes you think of different ways to overcome obstacles.
But yeah, that's how I feel at the moment regarding the game. I hope my view changes perhaps as I continue playing some more but now that the initial hype and honeymoon phase has wore off, I'm now starting to notice flaws and frustrations. I know not a lot of people will agree with me but I would have preferred another Twilight Princess like Zelda game.

After you've done most the main stuff in the game, doing side-stuff becomes kind of pointless feeling since there's no real incentive besides more money or more hearts. Being stripped of everything and having to survive with nothing was an interesting diversion. I just wish -- like with the rest of the game -- that it was more challenging. They put too many good weapons around.

I feel like the game just works like this sometimes. I find if you restrict yourself to certain parts, it tends to feel like you described. I have two suggestions that worked for me when I started to feel like this. Either dont fast travel and let yourself explore everything naturally, or just move on to a different area you haven't explored yet. Don't worry about what you are currently doing, just move to a different location. You kinda just gotta move with the flow.
Hopefully it helps out!
55+ hours and yet I'm still 18% done with the game. I realize that includes stuff like map icons and seeds and such, but I accidentally beat the game and it goes to show how big it truly is.

How can you 'accidentally' beat the game? You have to purposefully go to this big evil looking castle in the middle of the map, it's not like you can stumble upon Ganon. lol

Speaking of Darknuts/Iron Knuckles, I wonder why they didn't just reskin the Yiga Blademaster into one as a regular enemy. They appear infrequently enough that the addition to the standard repertoire would be welcomed over any potential gripes with recycling assets. But in general, there are a few series staples that would have worked well here - Like Likes were mentioned earlier in the thread, and remain absolutely perfect matches for the game's focus on equipment. Wall/floormasters and Beamos would have been great additions to shrines to mix things up from the standard set of mini guardians. Elemental Gohma variants would have worked well alongside the expanded variety of magic arrows. I don't expect much from the DLC on that front, but it would be nice if they focused on providing some more variety. Even if it were just a Dark Link or Fierce Deity boss that reused existing assets.
And I definitely empathise with anyone underwhelmed with the majority of the music.
