Does anyone know if its possible to rewatch recovered memories? I found like 3 so far, and I wanted to watch one, but when I click on the photo with the film reel icon, the only options I have are to go back or delete...

It's on one of the pages of the + button menu, not with the photos

Just encountered my first white-haired lynel. That was an intense battle. It took two fairies, but I did it.

The loot he drops is great.

So about the shrine sidequest in Zora's Domain -
I need a certain lance for a ritual that someone dropped from the bridge - I can't find it though. Is it the same bridge he walks on or a different one.
Any hint?

I was thinking of making a thread called exactly this.

There was a "nice little touches in Horizon" thread, I figured this would be the BotW version.

There were maybe five basic enemy types across 98% of the map, which is a shame since I looooved the moments when I encountered new enemies like Lynels and Hinoxs.

This I agree with. There are different colored variants, but that's still the same creature.

I was very disappointed that
Darknuts, ReDeads, Poes, Textites, Gibdos and Wallmasters
didn't appear in the game.

Hopefully the DLC will remedy this and then it will be perfect :)

If you stand still, horseback archers literally can't hit you. Find a few of them and scoop up easy arrows.

Hollyyyyyyy shit GAF, that horse jumping minigame at Laketower Stable was a fucking nightmare. I spent nearly 500 rupees trying to beat that thing. Jump number 7 (the one on a slight hill near the rock wall) was giving me absolute fucking fits.

The prizes stink but still, at least I can give a giant middle finger to that horrible mini game.

The horses really control like dog shit in this game.

The "arbitrary story related reason", like it or not, is one of the rules the devs put in the game. There's a reason if in 120 shrines there isn't a single enemy that isn't a guardian, and it's the lore.

Besides, you and i both know that the reason why Shrines exist in the first place is to get more dungeon-like puzzle solving in every part of the world, strenght test is just one type they added to have a different series of shrines. I don't even know how many of them are in the game, but i doubt it's a large part of those 120. It's certainly a minor part of the ~50 i completed, small enough that for now i didn't even feel this repetition you're talking about.

I didn't say it couldn't be made better, i said it's not true that you do the same shit near every camp because the gameplay and the level design allow you to tackle them in many different ways, and no, that's not only because you can approach them from the sky. You get barrels, trees, metal crates, rocks, different spots to hide, elemental and terrain advantages/obstacles and so on and you can use them in unique ways thanks to the physics interactions and the runes. That's way more than you get in any other open world game, including MGS V, which was praised for its gameplay variety in enemy camps of all things. Did you really expect the game to have like 300 camps throughout the world and all of them to look different? Of course there's some repetition, but it's not as bad as you're saying. In fact, considering the normal limitations of open world games, i'd say what they managed to offer is pretty good and certainly not something that drags down the experience.

Does this even exist in the game? Guardians were created in the first place to
help the Hero and the Princess beating the Calamity,
why would they look like lizalfos?

I agree that the gameplay allows for a hell of a lit more freedoms than past games but you totally lost me with MGSV. Come on now MGSV has multiple times more ways to tackle any location than zelda, it's not even a fair comparison.

But I am not arguing that the gameplay allows freedom, of course it does. I am simply saying they literally copy paste certain structures into different environments and that is a very standard open world thing to do but not a zelda thing to do.. You are saying you gave me this gameplay I am satisfied even if structures repeat over and over. I am saying thanks for this gameplay but I still want unique events and structures everywhere, not a copy paste job on the structure. Use all that gameplay to create a variety of interesting scenarios.

And the lore thing is still an excuse, some random man invented it, that same person can come up with any excuse to change it. How about make guardian versions of the different enemies, there story complaint done. Or have more than one kind of enemy in these things, invent a few different kinds of enemies. I have done about 45 shrines and about 7 of them have been combat shrines. I get sad every time I see them cause it's like the devs just said, eh we ran out of time here, have another of these.

The horse controls are fine, but jump 7 is bugged. You cant do that jump at max speed.

Hey y'all, started playing this game and I got to the part where you're supposed to find all the memories or whatever. Is this something I should do immediately to advance the story or is it meant to be a long term exploration type thing?

Same bridge. Remember, it's metal so it's magnetic.

Either.

You only need one to advance the story. The rest are optional.

You should finish it before finishing the game. You can take your time. There is no followup quest for it.

Do it so we can post all the shenanigans and gifs too. I think it would be very funny and have lots of discoveries to share.

Spent hours yesterday looking for
Tarry Town
in Akkala. Turns out I had to start the quest first by
bying a house in Hateno
. Really fun quest though.

Oh man I was so pleased that I was able to stable the
Giant
Horse. I was amused but a little frustrated that I couldn't stable
Stalhorse or Lord of the Mountain
, was glad I stuck it out and tried with that guy.

Also! I fought a Hinox who... uprooted a palm tree and used it as a weapon against me?? I have played what I would call an unhealthy amount of this game and I'm still finding shit that's new and delightful.

Yeah that one specific jump is the problem. It just arbitrarily doesn't trigger sometimes. I like the horses in general but that was just junk.

Finally went after my first dungeon (
Ruta
). Got a kick out of the the
spiked ceiling
in the puzzle with the
opening/closing
gate where a
terminal resides
. Ended up
running into the closed gate to stay in place while it was moving into a spot where the gate would lift. I hopped inside and then waited for the cage to level out rather than use slate on the ball.
The
spiked ceiling you get rolled onto does such an insignificant amount of damage
I could only interpret it as a "we know what you're doing, but we'll accept it" wink.

Overall the dungeon was neat if a bit short. Would have like to have gotten a couple more puzzles with the
trunk
mechanic.

I didn't have a problem with that, took about 100. And yeah, don't always go full speed.

Oh yeah also what's up with
Dragons
? I have to farm out a couple scales and horn parts for armor upgrades. I've found them all and I know how to get horn parts, but what's the rule on their loot? Can you get one per day? Per Bloodmoon?

I had to do that jump backward, from the other end of the slope, because 90% of the time the horse just fucking slid sideways from the fence instead of jumping over it.

Anyone know where the shrines in eastern Akkala are? My radar went off like crazy near
the grotto with a crap ton of ore as well as on the 4 tall island structures off the coast.

I spent like 45 minutes but I couldnt find either of them :(

For the Islands one it's
on Tingle Island, you have to stasis away a big flat black rock.

The one in the grotto is inside the valley cliff near the top. Gotta shoot a bomb arrow or roll a bomb down the hill.

One in the bridge-connected island chain is in a hole under a metal plate or explodable rock or something.

The motion controls are pissing me off. I am
in the shrine where you have to maneuver the Switch to guide the rolling ball through the hallways and I get so close when I get lucky but never land it properly. I hate this shit.
Does anyone have any tips? Is this easier when using the charging grip controller?

I turned the whole platform 180 degrees so it's backwards and tilt down to the left, if I remember correctly, so that when the ball drops on the maze it drops right into the hall that leads out instead of it dropping at the beginning of the maze and you have to maneuver through it all over again.

Thinking about it, you probably don't even have to turn it 180, just tilt so that the ball drops to the hallway leading out.

So who else uses the wolf link Amiibo?

Seems like it does so much for you:

- Locates items the sensor is set to.

- Attacks enemies

- Distracts enemies

- Attacks (and eats) game.

- is your buddy for the adventure.

- can teleport where he can't go, leek if you glide down a cliff.

Also there is one thing you should absolutely be able to do but you can't or at least I couldn't:

Stasis a boulder, smash it to max, then get it and ride it across a chasm. IT just flew out from under me.

However you want to. I set out in the few I thought I could find, the others I found along my journey.

Thanks! I've seen those
large metal plates but I couldnt use magnesis on them
. Always wondered what they were used for.

These things are so cleverly hidden sometimes.

In the quest Divine
Beast Vah Ruta
in Zora's Domain.
There is this big wheel and a chest stuck between two stones. I can't figure out at all how to get to this. Did anyone succeed and is the chest worth the hassle?

Does anyone know if you can repeat major tests of strength after you've cleared them to get more guardian++ weapons?

They pair so well with the full ancient set.

Any good places for finding Farosh?

Yeah go to the lakeside stables at the nsouth of faron by lake floria, Sleep until morning, and at 5am run across the bridge and he should be flying right over the waterfall. Jump off the bridge and use slomo arrows to hit the body part you want for scales or horns, the body part lands in the water. When your'e done run back to the stables and sleep until morning again if you're gonna farm more.
