Just finished the Rito divine beast, loved it. The boss was pretty easy though, just used bomb and thunder arrows on it. The cutscene at the end of the fight was pretty nice, kind of sad. Not sadder than the Zora one though...

I really love the story too. It's nice and simple but kind of dark in a way too.

Does anyone know the name of the theme playing when the rito guy is talking?

What's the best way to get to the shrine that is in
the freezing water? I just floated down the river and kept eating food to restore my health. Curious if there was supposed to be a better way.

Same. I really dig the current format. It's more approachable and good for short spurts of play. That said, they could probably have made the beasts a bit more enticing for those that like traditional dungeons.

Even though BotW is bursting at the seams with content, there is that lingering feeling that the main dungeons could have hade more to them. It really highlights the constraints of game development imo because it's obvious that they put SO MUCH WORK into this game but they literally don't have the time to do absolutely everything.

That's why I'm really hoping the DLC campaign is a long, sprawling dungeon.

So I spent a bit rescanning an Amiibo to get this.

Seems like if you can see the enemy, the shot will hit without sagging, pretty neat :P

I'm doing the
Lomei Labyrinth Island

Does anyone have a list of the treasures found in there. I already cleared the shrine, and didn't have to do much exploring, guess I got lucky and found the entrance right away. Though the big map helps a lot if you zoom in.

So far I've found:
Great Flameblade
Diamond Circlet
Giant Ancient Core
Barbarian helmet from the shrine

Anything else worth scouring the whole maze for, really don't want to waste my time in there getting lost if I don't need to.

The Diamond Circlet and Barbarian Helmet were great finds I thought.

There's a chest with rupies in it somewhere but it's not much, a silver one iirc.

This sounds like "If it weren't for almost everything about this game, this would be the worst 3D Zelda." Everyone has different priorities, of course, but I find that often times in Zelda the story gets in the way of what actually makes the games interesting to play.

That's not really the case with this game imo.

Although Ganon does take a backseat, which is a shame given his strong appearance in previous titles such ALTTP, OOT, TWW and TP.

You've got all the main things I found. Not sure I got everything either though.

The whole right side is
soldier weapons.

I'm trying to do one of the shrine quests that requires Blood Moon. Is there any way to force it? I've been wasting so much time asking that one NPC every day if it's blood moon yet.

For me, I setup a fire under the shroom thingies, and lit it with a fire arrow and just kept 'sleeping until night', it took about 5 tries but it eventually got there. Doesn't hurt to go murder some enemies to help it along but I did not.

Thanks, think I'll just leave this dreadful place then. Not fond of
mazes
.

I don't feel like making a thread but does BotW now negate Bethesda jank as an excuse? I really haven't ran into any whacky glitches or problems in this game

So after finishing the story I set myself to do the side quests and remaining shrines without using fast travel. I'm kind of rediscovering this game as a result. After a while I was using way too much fast travel and paragliding and kind of was going through the motion without realising it.

So right now I'm trying to reduce the amount of paragliding I'm doing, I'm using main roads and horses more often, activating pro mode, and this is great. You meet so many people in the wild, I hang out with a traveler in his camp and cooked there, everytime you stop at a stable I just feel really good, it's super cozy. I'm also watching the map more often to learn about the places I'm at. It's awesome.

Great game, the more I play the more I long for just a little more of a structured approach. I think this is mainly down to being unlucky, Ive done various little expeditions and probably picked bad places to do them because it feels like Im wandering aimlessly coming across nothing of note to do. Maybe I should take on the 4 dungeons. I prefer Ocarina in the sense it had a clear path, its also a bit wierd to know you can just skip the whole game and go straight to the end after the plateau, makes everything else seem unnecessary. Even with these issues I would easily rate this 9/10, very well made and lovely charm to it.

I think if there's any open-world weirdness to complain about is that running animals eventually disappear.

My only real big compliant is how expensive stuff costs when generating large amounts of Rupees isn't exactly easy or quick. Just discovered a cool secret clothing spot in Gerudo but everything is expensive. I'm not walking around with 800+ Rupees. And even if I was.... that's all going towards the super expensive 3,000 house dream.

BUT WAIT! I GOTTA PAY A GUY 600 RUPEES JUST TO ENTER GERUDO. LIKE COME ON.

That's why I literally laughed when I saw the Sheik costume in Kakariko village. I'm like... "Does the game honestly think I can afford this so early?"

money is fairly easy to come by.

I usually have a couple thousand in cash, and sitting on a huge reserve of money in ore, and monster parts.

Like bokoblin fangs are 8 a piece, and I have over a hundred.

Also, people underestimate selling food. I hunt everything I see and if you cook up a 10-15 health meal, it can give you 200 rupees sold. You typically don't need health items of that calibre early on, not to mention full health recovery options are better anyway.

Here's one I discovered:

5x endura carrot (of which can be found behind the kakariko great fairy) gives a healing item that heals 15, and gives stamina over your maximum. It sells for 420 rupees.

Just beat big ol' Ganon. 62 hours, 29% completion.

The first form was way harder than the second form. Also my discount store amiibo Light Arrows don't work. Have to use the genuine article. For some reason I thought they would as an easter egg. I LOVED that the game had my horse ready at part 2. Being dropped off next to Epona and the two of us reacting to the stuff happening was really cool. I dropped all my clothes and armor I was wearing and went completed Twilight costume, Hylian Shield, Master Sword, the entire shabang. It made the fight harder because the pants and hat weren't leveled, but I HAD to beat Ganon with the classic costume. Riding Epona, Master Sword in hand, Hylian shield on my back, wearing a green hat, tunic and pants, firing Light Arrows, that just felt right.

And then the ending cutscene changes Link into his champion shirt and makes my horse some generic brown horse. It wasn't even pre-rendered, why wasn't I wearing my own clothes? Or at least had my own horse...

I saw that, but went somewhere else. my thought is bring a tree and ride it, or use Krynosis.
