Okay.
I don't feel at all ashamed of admitting that there do exist people who make dumb arguments on little to no basis on the left side of the aisle, nor that some of those are young and college educated, nor that some of those take to twitter to do so. That's the "SJW" phenomenon as I see it. Perhaps the label is unfortunate, but the critique is getting at something.
I don't think bad argumentation has a political bias.
If that's a problem...well I'll just repeat that philosophy begins with introspection.

I present it as, yes, bad arguments are made by "SJW"s. But to use that as a smokescreen is intellectually dishonest, especially when you are saying and doing the things, of which you are being accused with great regularity.
Because some liberals make bad arguments on twitter doesn't mean you can't be held accountable for anything. And if you care about good dialogue, you should hold yourself accountable to start.

People have been like this towards Moriarty, yet he retreats back into his shell and acts all victimized. It's the classic pattern of an abuser/bully: Lash out and abuse the victim and then turn around act like the victim and demand the empathy of the victim. He says some stupid shit that hurts people and radicalizes others, he gets called out on it diplomatically, and then he turns around and act like a victim that feels stigmatized and hurt.
And by continually telling the abused that they have to engage with him in "good dialogue" is asking the abused to continually empathize with the bully/abuser. The argument that you are putting forward is one that others have already mentioned throughout this thread and elsewhere and it's tiring to keep listening to.
Instead of telling the abused that they need to be nicer to the abuser (which they already are and have been), why don't you use your time and energy to go tell Colin and his supporters to do the same?
I'm judging nobody. I simply didn't see this being a thing when social media started to take off in the world.

She's part of a think tank and believes that boys will be boys and she doesn't really stand for womens rights. She's done more to fight feminists and women in general than anything. She's also called "based mom" by GamerGate as she defended all those boys just being misogynistic and racist boys.
Lol Colin always does this, the moment anyone criticizes him he makes a comment about their relevance, whether it be twitter followers or people caring about them in some way. He sure makes a lot of childish, ad hominem attacks for someone that believes they're such a deep intellectual. He thinks everyone that disagrees with him is worthless and gets worked up when someone says something negative about him. He definitely has some narcissistic tendencies, especially when you add in the fact that he thinks he's the important person sticking up for those without a voice. You're so important Colin!

He actually reminds a bit of Trump. They both can't take criticism and talk down to anyone who disagrees with them. They feed off the energy of the people that are willing to say kind things to them because it proves to them that they are amazing people. Plus, Colin often talked about how right he was on PSILY. He couldn't help but point it out. He was always talking about if not for him some games wouldn't have done as well as they did. He pats himself on the back every time he believed knew something before someone else. I don't know if this is an inherent personality flaw which him or the result of an inflated ego that's been fed into by his fans, but he needs to take a hard look at himself.
"Hmm....if only there was some way to keep people from calling me a bigot..." Moriarty thinks to himself before turning to the next page in Atlas Shrugged. "I know! I just have to suppress the speech of those who call me a bigot when I'm saying bigoted things!"
It's literally that complicated for him to realize that to stop being called a bigot, he simply has to just try and stop saying and doing bigoted things.

Has Moriarty ever actually debated anyone on camera? He talks a lot about how he had to refine his debating skills because his views are constantly challenged in the "overwhelmingly liberal" game industry. But on Kinda Funny shows, he just says extremely superficial things about economics and politics without anyone disputing his assertions. Something tells me he wouldn't last a minute against people who actually know what the fuck they're talking about. Whenever anyone pushes back even a little, he just says something along the lines of "I studied American history and have paid attention to politics for decades, therefore you're wrong."

Yeah I watched that episode since people were mentioning it.....Aisha clearly pushed back a little but wasn't exactly challenging his views. Just kind of being "WHAAAAAT?!?!?" Maybe she wasn't comfortable enough to be too aggressive since she was on their show. I was hoping she would destroy his celebratory view of American history. A white man cheer leading the Revolution of 1776 in front of a black woman....I was like "GO FOR THE GUT AISHA GET HIM GIRL" but she just went along with it. There are so many things she could've talked about with regards to the African experience on this continent.
I see it was a good thing to add that "If memory serves right". It is very telling, though, that that particular episode is still kinda "reveered" within the fanbase as one of the only times someone somewhat challenged him.

I was a podcast beyond fan for a long time and i did have a lot of time for Colin. I was alway interested to listen to his take on games, even though I disagreed with him the majority of the time I did enjoy hearing a contrasting and sometimes challenging opinion. Then i found out about his political leanings and my instinct was to be turned off by him, yet i still found something interesting in him. I mean at this point i felt like i knew him after listening to him for years. I thought to myself maybe we need more right leaning personalities like him to show they are not necessarily the enemy but people like us who we can debate in a grown up way.
Then i noticed the cracks appear in Colin. He didn't want to debate anymore, rather shut down a discussion and ram his opinion down your throat, beating the person he was talking too (often Greg reading a listeners email) into submission. He was becoming more and more disinterested in games and wanted to turn the conversation to politics whenever he got the chance.
I personally think the tweet that started all this wasn't a joke, it was bait. His regular listeners would know both Colin and Greg fly pretty close to the sun with some of their 'jokes'. Shit i remember a "JOKE" of Greg's in which he told a boy at a convention that he drew a swastika on him and the boy turned out to be jewish and got rather upset over it. I think this is why Colin and his fans know they could hide behind the excuse of the tweet being a joke and nothing else.
He may have left kidda funny now but i think this incident is only going to further his career. So many outlets are going to give him his platform as the outrage against outrage culture is massive. He is just going to be seen as another guy who is a victim of a SJW witch hunt.
Rogan is going to have him on and i wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the kind of thing H3H3 will cover.
