Sorry if it's already been discussed, but do we know if there is a change in the Blood Moon mechanic once all four beasts are finished? Since finishing them, I've had Blood Moons at the weirdest times. Including just now, getting three in one night (10:25pm/12:00AM/12:55am in game time). At first I thought maybe it's Ganon's way of causing an onslaught, but three in one night? seems excessive.

It's a glitch. Fully restart your console.

This is not actually a spoiler at all but about Guardians...

So I snuck up on a non-mobile Guardian and hit it repeatedly and it just kept shooting a laser beam off to the distance every time I hit it.. It was cool but was that supposed to happen?

A similar thing had happened to me a while back, and I was just as confused. I used my Royal Great Sword and smacked the stuffing out of it, and not once did it turn around.

Where is that?

North and a little west of Hyrule Castle.

You can do a lot of weird things to guardians so I'm pretty sure it's intentional.
By attacking the main body you're causing them to malfunction. You can also cut off their legs, in which case they try to run away to keep their distance from you, and if you cut off enough you can knock them on their sides and make them unable to do anything.

Woo finally did what I needed to do for the sand boots. That thing was really well hidden
save for the fact that it shows up on the map.
Woulda rather discovered it naturally but it wasn't meant to be, spent hours running up and down that area.

I finished all the Gerudo quests for the helm

Are there other versions like flames in Goron, and Zora's water?

Probably not, but the helm rocks when situations call for it

I have to ask, and please answer without spoiling the surprise...

Is it worth hunting down every shrine?

In case someone doesn't want any input on it, I'll put these non spoilers in spoilers.

Kinda, not really. Kinda because it may be a pleasant surprise. Not really because it is easily trumped by other easier obtainable things in the game in terms of utility.

I moreso did them all just because I wanted to and to make the most of flipping over the world.

Never mind my previous post, I finished the all quests in Goron City but no prize like the Helm from Gerudo Town

I was hoping for a set with all 3 element proof, that would be great, haha

With regards to getting the upgrades for your health and stamina bar, of course.

The actual reward for finding/conquering the shrines is up for debate, but I though it was worth the trouble.

The Zoras are really cool in this game. They're usually my least favorite crew in Zelda games (they're always unfortunately associated with water gameplay), but they were great in this. Between their designs and personalities, probably the best portrayal of Zoras in the series. Really looking forward to the Ritos, they're so underrepresented in the Zelda games and were interesting in The Wind Waker.

(I'm just going to assume the Gerudo and Gorons are going to be cool, as usual.)

I feel like the Divine Beast locations, in proximity to the first two villages, subtly encourage people to do them counter-clockwise, starting near Lanayru. Am thinking about just cutting through to the northwest next, just to do it slightly differently. Might to Death Mountain last. It's so ominous and big out in the distance, I kinda want to savor it.

I will say this.

The
Rito
"dungeon" felt super easy and almost rushed. Like the other two I have done had set up and story beats..here is was just go here, hey do this, hey meet this person, go do the thing, okay done bye. Weird.

I just did this one and I agree. It honestly felt more like a side quest.

I agree, but I thought the whole aspect of getting into the dungeon was really cool. Nothing like
gliding through the air firing bomb arrows at a giant bird shooting lazers.

Gorons are a lot cooler in this game. I like how their eyes pop out of their heads whenever they're surprised. And I like Greyson's little brother with the hard hat. Funny little guy :)

Their surprise expression is amazing - something very similar was also in MM3D, but I can't remember if it was in the original as well. Though for some reason, I don't think their voice acted grunts are as cute as the similar noises made by the N64 Gorons. I'll have to go back and compare it to the TP and SS ones, to see if there's as much of a difference.

Easy way to make money early on is to make food and elixers and sell them.

Thanks for the tip. Gonna have to give it a try.

Funny I feel like I'm drowning in cash if anything. Precious gems grow out of seemingly every surface all over the world.

I thought I had a lot until I reached the fairy. She wants more than I've ever had at once. I can afford other stuff but not the fairy.

Totally. Just did this dungeon and I liked it.
I do wish there had been a little more back story to Link and Ravali's relationship. I didn't really care for the bird at all. I had more of a connection to Teba.

About the only thing i might care about going back for is the island challenge and that fucking ball that impa refuses to give you

how do you get the damn ball

i'm not doing more then the 1 memory i already did unless i decide to do a 100% file on the switch where i go past 12 hearts/full stam

Will probably just start a fresh file on the switch ver i have now when hard mode comes out

I just did it right after the
Lanayru
beast and it was pretty much the exact same thing only with an even lazier setup. Honestly I thought the Lanayru beast was the obvious "first" beast but now I don't know. The
Rito
beast felt even lazier and shorter. These "dungeons" are basically the worst parts of OoT's dungeons only stripped of anything potentially worthwhile. I've gone back to doing sidequests and shrines so it will probably be awhile before I tackle another beast but I'll probably do
Gerudo
next. I have to believe that one is better than the other two.

Where do i find how many hours i played? i'm on Wii U.
Activity Log on the home menu
its an app you probably shoved offscreen like miiworld and everybody votes etc

find a day you played the game and tap on the game name on the gamepad to get the total time played on that "app"

Well, the wolves and foxes get different colored coats for what it's worth. And there are some unique animals found only in certain climates, which is nice (I was really surprised when I got to the Northwest mountains and saw
moose and woolly rhinos
). But I agree there's too much homogeneity in the kinds of animals found across the map. If there were some more small furry animals to take the role of Foxes and such in different places, I'd feel a lot better.

they do? ive only seen the one model for every area

Zora and Gerudo have particularly good showings in this game. Gorons are solid (heh) but they're pretty much the same old Gorons you know and love, this game doesn't really shade them in or extend them at all. I like the Rito concepts in this game but the actual Rito area is under-realized.

My apple is not baking, it's simmering =/

Don't cook it in a pot, put it next to a fire. Use a campfire or even just the ground up around Death Mountain.

Are there any minerals that I can sell for rupees or will they all be needed for upgrading later?

They all get used for upgrades but you don't need very many of any of them (unless you want to upgrade the Gerudo jewelry I guess... but don't do that). Sell yourself down to 15 or so of each without worry, and don't sell unless you're actually in need of the money.

Don't upgrade the jewellery? Why? Too expensive?

Well gang, I've started to realize something about BOTW , once the main quest starts to wind down and you've found all the towers ... the sense of discovery diminishes and with it goes at least some of the joy of exploring the world.

It's not much of a drop mind you but , so far the most fun I've had with this game was right after completing one dungeon , just going around and seeing what was out there until I had the map nearly filled out. I wasn't even being very thorough with searching areas, just checking them out , doing whatever shrines were obvious. Finding korok seeds by accident.

Now , I'm at this weird place with the game where a good 30% of the map is left just sitting there for no real reason unless I , as a player, want to go do that stuff. It feels like they could have cut down the number of shrines by ... say half ? and put in 4 other dungeons instead to make sure people DID need to go everywhere.

I mean, it's a very small strange issue I'm having now because I've "seen" most of the game at this point but not really experienced all of it. There is most assuredly some burnout happening, over 50 hours into it at this point with at least 10 more by my estimate to finish the game off.

Basically... I wonder now , if 10 years in the future many people will look back on BOTW in the same way we all look at OOT, that is - "oh yeah that game was a masterpiece" but no one actually ever wants to play it again because half the fun of it was seeing and experiencing all of it for the first time.

I suppose my core issue is that I feel like, as great as this as all been so far , I wish it would have ended after 40 hours and the map was 60% smaller to accommodate that. The hidden subtext here is that I ACTUALLY wish the game was less addicting so I could have spent (some of the)95% of my spare time these past 2 weeks doing something other than playing this.

Odd complaint to have , I know. "this game is almost too good". But there it is.

I'm in the same boat. This is me thinking out loud, but I wish instead of 120 shrines their were 70 and then 4 more story dungeons ( with themes ).

After completing the Divine beast dungeons, the story makes you do the following:

Lost woods dungeon to get the Master sword. The dungeon would be spooky forest themed and end boss would be a corrupted deku tree.

Next three dungeons involve you freeing corrupted dragons and using their power to fix the Master sword.

Mt. Lanayru - Ice themed. Boss - Malice Naydra

Eldin mountain - Fire themed. Boss - Malice Dinraal

Lightning themed - Malice Farosh.

That would make 8 solid dungeons.

I didn't upgrade any of them fully, but I appreciated being able to combine a fire weapon and the Ruby Jewelry in order to have two piece of climbing gear equipped when exploring colder areas, without sacrificing too much defense.
