The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| It's 98 All Over Again

Fought my first
Molduga
last night.

How exactly are you supposed to fight these? I kept getting popped in the air, slowing down time, and spamming elemental arrows from a triple shot bow. I'm guessing you have to fight them while on your
Sand Seal
?

It took me a long while but the method is basically
go to a safe spot, drop a bomb and then the Molduga will eat it and made it explode to stun it and you have a window to deliver some hits... I tend to use Bomb Arrows + the Lynel bow that fires 5 arrows at the same time lol

Oh, like a simpler version of Nibblesnarf from Monster Hunter. That's cool.

Man, I was hoping to get some game time in on my lunch today. But the wife made me leave the Switch at home so my son could play. Little shit needs to get his own Switch.

I say that sarcastically. My son is 6'5", 270lbs.

Damn, I get off rails so often, that I'm now discovering stables in areas I have been revisiting several times. I actually also missed the first encounter with
the korok seeds guy
in the path to K
akariko
, since I got there from the back after discovering the
Great fairy fountain.
Only decided to go there after someone at work spoiled it for me :/

Well, I beat the game.
All Divine Beasts, all memories, 101 shrines, 153 korok seeds.

33.33% completion

Gonna finish off the remaining shrines and quests.

Definitely a 10/10 game.

I somehow managed to miss
Dueling Peaks Stable
until I'd explored almost all the rest of the map because I kept entering Kakariko from the back.

The enemies around the castle are far more dangerous than the boss itself. You can get it if you sneak around.

There is nothing in the game tied to beating the final boss. Get it beforehand.

Get behind the castle (on the island itself though). when you're facing the castle, you're going to start treking to the right! You'll to the right of the castle (or left if facing it from front) is a tower that sits on the edges of the island. Climb it. There should be a guardian cannon type thingy there. Just kill it. Now, look towards the castle. Diretly in front of you, above on higher grounds, is another tower. That's where Zelda's study is. You'll see one of the flying guardians circling it.

Got it thanks

That's neat. If you go to Hyrule Castle before beating any of the main areas...
(spoilers)
you get a longer, and harder fight. The more divine beasts you take over, the less forms Ganon will have. I think I redo this fight multiple times just to see how much easier it gets since I beat him the first time with one beast conquered.

for what i heard

all it changes is that you fight the "blight" forms you hve not killed first, and then ganon starts with full health instead of half..but the battle is basically the same.

Fought a Molduga yesterday and found it quite annoying for the first half until I tried a different strategy that made the fight much faster. The concept behind it is my least favorite enemy type though. Still, glad I was able to beat it and complete the quest

I always find my self coming back to the Great Plateau. I'd bet good money there's a huge secret in this area that no one has found yet!
I like returning to the humble beginnings of the game every now and then. Back at the start the Plateau seemed huge and terrifying enough, but the moment you paraglide off it you realise that opening area was a comfy bubble.

I too have the feeling the Plateau holds a secret. I read somewhere about a secret passage to Hyrule Castle but I haven't been able to find out any more about it so I doubt it was true.

Are all the flight forms gone when you beat all of them? I assume so and you just go straight to Calamity

~90 hours later I think it's a good time to clear my third beast (Goron). Saving Gerudo for last.

Saving Gerudo for last is for the best. It certainly feels like it was intended with that in mind, given how difficult the boss and the layout of the dungeon are. Not to mention the events leading up to it.

I don't mind fighting them because it's so freaking easy!

Throw square bomb, trigger it when he eats it, wail on him with sword, repeat until dead

Also when that Quest fight is over
light all the fires

Ok, so I'm in Gerudo town now and only beaten the zora dungeon. Is it a better idea to save the dungeon for last and go to the other two first?

Yeah, I was halfway in the fight when I recalled the quest giver mentioned something like that and then was upset with myself for not realizing how easy it was. Lol. I had been shooting arrows and then trying to use statis when it came up.

Regarding the second spoiler, I didn't think to do that even though I saw a
spot for a flame and thought nothing much of it and left after the fight was done.

Thanks, I'll need to go back and do that

Reason I saved it for last is because most ppl I've talked to seem to love it. Not sure what the intended order is (I did Zora > Rito for no reason other than they were conveniently close to where I was at the time :P)

Hey folks! Wanted to see what ya guys thought of my BotW design!

OKcHA4V.gif

But yeah I'm still blown away at this game... it is absolutely incredible and amazing!
So many points throughout the adventure I felt a true sense of discovery, not to mention all the charm and nostalgia and attention to detail sprinkled throughout! Oooft!
I hope they utilize some of this awesome game engine tech in their games big and small! ♥

I also threw it up on YouTube if that's easier for folks:

Wow thats epic!

Looks like I have one side quest left on my list to finish.

And it's a struggle because I can't find a damn Moblin Club. The worst I get from a Moblin at this point is a Spiked version. Even the sensor+ does not help. Thanks kiddo.

I did the Gerudo beast after the Zora beast, didn't find it much more difficult personally, they are the only 2 I've done.

Thanks, fellas. Maybe I'll do the gerudo side quests first then save it. I really want to head north of zoras domain. No harm in saving it I suppose.

I did that thing just out of like "i doubt anything will happen but what the heck" and well something happened haha

Around the starting plateau are Moblins that never seem to level beyond red, and that's where I found mine.

It gets worse than that. I'm still looking for a Guardian Axe+

I only come across Guardian Axe ++ now. And I also found just a Guardian Axe. But no, he needs exactly one +.

Ha, thats awesome. There is still a lot of the desert I want to explore. Thanks for the tip. Once I'm playing again I'll do that to find out what happens

There's one in the Modest Test of Strength Shrine, near Hateno Beach, iirc. You have to beat the Shrine, though.

Incredible job! Love how it nails that feeling of the guardians themselves: elements of both scifi and fantasy that somehow compliment each other very well. 👌

Wow so it never ends. lol.

Gonna find that Moblin Club first. Thanks!

Pretty sure you should be able to find a few near the starting area, where you first find Moblins.

Does that chain get you anything other than rupees? Because I sort of bothered with it for a bit, but now I'm sure I can't complete it easily because I'm so far ahead in the game that some of the shittier weapons he wants are gonna be really tough to find.

He only asks for 4 things. Traveller's Sword, Fire Rod, Moblin Club, Guardian Axe+. Fire Rod drops from Wizzrobes, Moblin Club from the Moblins near the Plateau which don't upgrade, Guardian Axe+ from a Modest Test of Strength. Not sure what to find the Traveller's Sword late-game, admittedly.

I found one of those not far from the Plateau in Central Hyrule. Granted that was a couple of days ago, but still reasonably far enough in the game that I thought something that weak wouldn't show up anymore.

Maybe they chose those weapons specifically because they show up throughout the game? Or the weapons keep showing up because of the quest?

With each town I get to, I realize how welcoming and comfortable they are. Gerudo was amazing and so full of life/culture, Rito is a place I want to hang out at for days, Zora is almost zen-like in its relaxing atmosphere, Kakariko makes me feel like I'm in feudal Japan or similar. NPCs are distinct, and I especially love what they did with the children in this game. They're all just so adorable.

I also threw it up on YouTube if that's easier for folks:

0:43!!! LOL So cool that they accounted for this in the game.

You can find them occasionally stuck into the ground around the earlier areas.

I also realised you can return for the Rusty Sword by the Temple of Time that was most people's first weapon, and get a Rock Octorok to neaten it up.

Got my 60th shrine this morning, and 99th korok seed. I have about 55 hours of game time, and 1 divine beast down.

It's kind of hard to believe I'm only halfway done with shrines, I feel like I've covered so much ground already, but clearly there is so much more to explore. Right now I feel like I want to get all 120 shrines, but I can also see myself getting tired of the hunt after a while, so I don't know what will happen.

I love the 2-3 hour loop this game has for me. Explore a bit of a place, grabbing as much food ingrediants as you can. Explore this chunk of map, find a shrine or two. Use up your food, go back to town and cook up more food.

Tomorrow another 2 hour journey starts.

I found the towers for around 3 regions doing this the past two days. Now I get to actually explore these random regions for the goodies and Korok seeds. So much to do now.

And somehow stumbled upon the bird beast thing and its village this morning on the bus ride. I think that's my first beast, as the thing at lanryu mountain isn't a beast, correct?

Can someone tell me a little bit more about those
flying dragons at night
? I'm too intimidated to even approach them, but damn do they look amazing/majestic. LOL

You can shoot their body and get parts that you can use to unlock shrines, sell, or cook, or upgrade armor.
