The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| It's 98 All Over Again

It's normal, the blood moon is a respawn mechanic with stronger enemies, not a hard-mode night.

You're misunderstanding their problem. Blood Moons have known glitches that cause them to appear at irregular times and much too frequently. It's possible to get multiple Blood Moons a night.

There is supposed to be a build up and cool down to Blood Moons and these "fake Blood Moons" simply respawn enemies without the extra cooking effects of atmosphere.

can confirm the bug. it has happened only one time, where I got a blood moon three times in a row with less than 2 mins in between. I was fighting a lynel too, so I almost got it downed when bloodmoon happened in the middle of the fucking day, and then after that it happened 2 mins after that again and then a new blood moon 2 mins after that again.

Weird bug, it's only happened to me once though.

I don't know, I've seen some say that you've seen everything in the game after 30 hours, but I feel the same as you 100+ hours in. I've got most of the northwest and southeast unexplored still. Feel like I should start finishing up the main quest soon though.
Experiencing the whole world in 30hrs seems literally impossible to me.

I'm 120hrs in, 3 beasts, 320 seeds, 90 shrines, almost all gear at lvl 3, and am going to new places and doing new things every single play session. Hell I only just now saw the Hyrule Ridge area and have no idea what's in the south west.

Well, so I have only 9 Shrines left and of course no idea where to look lol - I suppose most of them are secret shrines, where I have to activate a sidequest beforehand.

Any more and less obvious ones that I might have missed apart from looking for them in staples and villages?

Someone posted this map where it only shows the number of shrines in each region but not where they are. So then you can at least narrow it down to where to look for shrines...

I've only gotten a few memories so far, but my impression of Zelda is that she is filled with self-loathing and depression, constantly feeling like a failure who can't live up to the expectations everyone has of her. I suppose that doesn't make her a heroic figure, but it does make her a relatable one, at least for me. It's an interesting take on the princess archetype.
does anyone think there is something going on between link and zelda. because it looks like link has a lot more going on with mipha

This turned out to be one of the best quests! At first I was like "oh lame not another zzzz quest..." but goddamn it felt like a mini Duck Tales episode. Kickass shrine reward too: a shrine that isn't a combat trial or a free gimme! I love actual puzzle shrines so much. I get depressed every time I step into a combat trial shrine.
Yeah this sidequest was a joy. And you can find them back at the village afterwards joining in with the superb music that plays there.

I really appreciate that the villages offer some meatier sidequests and character development. Whenever I hear complaints about the sidequests I always think of the great time I've had with village quests, shrine quests, Kass songs.. Nearly all the characters are written in such a charming way that I'll talk to someone 3 times before I'm sure I've heard everything they've had to say. And even then, everyone reacts to a day/night/weather cycle, so when you return to a village to repair a weapon or buy some local ingredients the residents often have something new to say. I really appreciate that.

Every enemy, plant and animal respawns at the same time. Even the test of strength bosses. The only enemies that don't are the four Divine Beast bosses. Any items/weapons not found in chests that are just laying around also respawn.

wow really? interesting. I've killed 4-5 stalkers in Hyrule field and then later I've only seen one or none.

I'm still only a few hours into the game, but I've been really surprised at how many things have killed me in one hit. Granted, I'm putting all my upgrades into stamina at this point and only have 4 hearts, but the game seems pretty brutal at times.

This is such a magical game. I'm gonna cry.

Bought a house and furnished it a little bit. Killed my first Lynel, I think I nailed the dodge timings.

So I've seen some people really dislike the music in Breath of the Wild. I really liked the music, and here's a video from Mark Brown talking about some of the surprising depth of the music in the game.

I really loved the music
It's very different from the previous games though, and I don't think I will be hearing the OST like I do with Xenoblade or Mario Galaxy, but it has some great tunes and it fits with the game.

That Hyrule castle theme though, holy shit

Got all 120 shrines done and
the Cap/Tunic/Trousers of the Wild
. Only a little bit more to do before taking on Calamity Ganon.

Seriously, I had no idea you could get parts from the dragons other than scales and horn shards. Upgrading this set is gonna be a pain in the ass.

The only thing I fucking hate is the inventory space. Hate kicking a chest and getting inventory full message, happens every time I feel.

Is there a list of all the items needed to upgrade gear and where's the best place to find them?

The game not having even an Animal Crossing-style "Swap" option when you pick up something with a full inventory is probably my single biggest gripe with the game. I hope that's something they patch in, I can't imagine it'd be hard to implement at all.

Yeah, this was really annoying. However, even more annoying was how often weapons would break. They have to balance these systems together because they feed into each other. And I think the inventory concern is better than making the weapons too weak or weapons too rare. As mentioned above, a 'swap out' option would be super nice though.

The thing I do like about the inventory space, is how much it actually makes me value the most common collectible - those Korok seeds. I was delighted to find them, because it would make inventory more bearable.

Last night I figured out that blood moons reset the Tests of Strength shrines. I redid all of them last night because they're fun and I love guardian weapons (and I needed them for that one kid side quest).

I do wish there was a swap option, but I've gotten to the point where I'm almost glad when a weapon breaks, because it means I finally have a free slot.

guys i'm stuck, i'm at the Rito main mission, but i cannot find the guy in
flight range
, i have combed through the whole area,
jumped down the hole, walked around the mountain, shot every target
but he's nowhere to be seen.
am I missing something obvious? please give me a hint but not a direct location

IIRC, it's by a body of water.

That's literally my only complain when playing this game. It's damn annoying as it does happen every single time. When I open a chest I pray it's arrows or something else just so I don't have to go to the menu, select, drop and re-open.

Yeah they really should have had it pop open the inventory screen and given you the option to swap it for an existing item. Inventory management is pretty clunky as is.

Need to grab 2 horn shards from
Nyandra (ice dragon)
. Any good spot to camp for it? I've bumped into it a few times but was chasing which is no good. Gotta be ahead. Right now I'm waiting by the Zora
Divine Beast
location as I know it passes this way.

Also, I can never figure out when it appears.

My brother took this pic:

I'm 55 hours into the game and haven't seen a single bear yet.

Lanayru East gate. Right before the area with the Lynel. Passes right through the gate after midnight or so.

I saw one very early in my playthrough, probably less than an hour after leaving the plateau, but haven't seen one since.

Same.

It's not a soundtrack I would listen much outside of the game. Very different from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

South of
dueling peaks Stable
. There is
Hickaly Woods
. There are usually 2 there. Also a shrine is close by there.
Gotta blow up some rocks

I think I came across that same spot yesterday. They were both looking at a small cave-like structure.
Inside it there was a bee hive with honey and a lot of furious bees. It was as if the bears were figuring out a way to steal the honey.
It was an amazing little detail.

I did the Guardians Snapshots quest. Poor Roscoe.

I'm doing the Seven Heroines quest and man, Nintendo truly are the masters at making puzzles where you put balls in holes. I mean this in a good way, this is a cool quest. I also found a huge stash of weapons hidden in a cave in the Gerudo Highlands. I wonder if that's tied to a quest or just something secret.

I think I got half the memories so far. My opinion is that Zelda is an entitled bitch who is self-concious, narcissistic, and generally has poor social graces. It's a pretty interesting take on the character. I don't really blame her, but her interactions are pretty insufferable. It's all about her. Her interests. Her inability to do something. Her failings. Her potential. Her mission. On one hand, I love seeing a Zelda who has so much agency, and actually thinks for herself. On the other hand, the way the scenes are directed doesn't really paint her in positive light.

I think I share this opinion of Zelda, and it didn't change even with all memories. Though I think there's further development on her when you find her (and the King's) diaries and then wrap up the game with all memories.

That said, there's also some development for Link and why he's the way he is portrayed that tie into this picture you've laid out for Zelda. I hope you get to that point eventually!

Any way to cheese a blood moon? I must've sat around 12 campfires last night waiting
so I can complete my last Kass quest
, but nothing. Not one.

On the contrary, everything is about her because everyone else made it about her. I think she would love nothing more to be abdicated of her responsibilities.

I think the more enemies you kill, the more likely you are to get a blood moon to repop them. I guess save periodically and when you get a blood moon, revert the save and head to the
shrine location
.
