All I know is I killed Ruta's boss in five seconds and have no idea what it's mechanics even were.

5x Ancient Arrows from a Savage Lynel Bow have comical results when you headshot the Blight.

When targeting left/right/back + Jump

thats what I asumed, and now I realise I was pressing the wrong button because jump isnt where jump usually would be >_<

I assume the control scheme, and the Switch's weird ass button layout compred to "standard" controllers has been well discussed by now, since im so LTTP lol

edit: I keep getting 1 shot by shit, damn nuhyrule is harsh. I need more hearts ;_;

What does the chest icon next to the shrines names indicate? Is that saying you got all the chests, or that there are still chests hidden?

Do the critters and animals disappear so quickly on the Switch version? I feel like there is no point chasing them once they're spooked because they phase out just as i'm about to catch them.

Man. The final form of Thunderblight Gabon is a monster. I think I might have some food that lessens lightning's effect on me though. Just thought of that..
Yeah, I got to him completely unprepared. Everything I own was metal, only one shield, and no lightning resist. I'm just going to have to come back later...

Critters disappear instantly once they get scared away. Hunted animals can still be chased for quite a while before they disappear.

Thunderblight was the only hard boss in the game. So much fun and a real challenge as well. Got me a few times. Now onwards to getting the final shrines and then...THE CASTLE. Can I easily get the memory inside the castle? I wanted to make my ending epic and ride into the front door like a fucking badass but I already had to sneak around to get the damn shrine in the docks.

Kakariko villge is pretty as shit. Im kinda mainlining the game (not to be confused as rushing) but I can deffinately see how people get lost out in the world, I already got sidetracked with 2 shrines, a tower, some
girl that was being attacked by a goblin
, a few camps, one in particulr where I kept getting one shot (it wasnt actually a camp in the sense that it gives those chests, it was just...well a camp near a cave with goblins that I had to traverse to get to the tower) just on my way to kakariko.

There is a lot of "ooh whats that?" syndrome going on with the game. Do you extend your inventory at some point? Ima lways full (weapons wise) :/

Are you on the way to kakariko for the first time?

a character you meet near kakariko helps you with your inventory.

Its still going to be full no matter how many times you upgrade.

im at the village actually, and I
found no inventory character
. Probably because I was going down the valley, the shrine indicator started chiming so I climbed up a wall to see if it was up there, but it wasnt so then I just glided by way down to the very center of the village >_<

damn you freedom to do whatever!

oh by the way are there any items that are "safe" to sell? Like these screws and shit, do I need thos eventually? Im afraid to sell nything but I got no fucking rupees man.

Sell for what you need. Don't sell everything since materials can be used for later.

If you have tons of apples, cook 5 of them and sell the dish. That's instant 50 rupees.

There's little reason to hoard materials, the game showers you with things as you progress.

The only things I'd recommend keeping a close eye on are bugs/insects and other such animals that are usually only acquired by chasing them down.

It's the little details in the game that interest me. Like I'm wondering: what is the lore behind the diamond circlet?
For some reason, it resists guardians, but why? The game is pretty consistent with its lore that only ancient stuff is effective against other ancient stuff. So what's the deal with the diamond circlet? It doesn't have an ancient aesthetic to it. Who built it and why? It just mentions that it uses "the power of light". Is it related to the master sword somehow?
I'm not even sure they the developers thought or cared about this, but it still piques my curiosity.

I love this game so much that I would be perfectly content with this being the only Zelda game this generation on the Switch as long as they continue to breath new life into the world with DLC. If ever there was a game that deserved to continue on like that, if only for a while, it is this one.

That fucker is easily the worst part of the game. His first step should be as redundant as his second step, or the first Korok seed you find should give a breadcrumb Side Quest to track him down.

There's a place where you can find that item out in the wild, in a very special room. It doesn't explain the origins of it or why it does what it does, but where you find it makes you think: "
Well someone wanted this hidden, and there was a great battle here to protect it or keep it out of the hands of someone.
"

That said, why a random Gerudo lady can make it... /shrug

i'm starting to feel a little disappointed with the enemies. to be fair i'm still quite early in and a couple new enemies have appeared but do i really just wander around killing the same enemies in their little camps again and again? do i just keep doing shrines for more hearts/stamina? i was OK with the weapon degradation at first but i feel it just happens way too quickly. i hardly spend any time with a single weapon before it breaks.

Heck, I'm content with the game as is, (am still going to grab the DLC of course), but would also be fine with no more Zelda this gen.

The series feels to have delivered on a promise with this game that I've always dreamed about. I'm satisfied. I hope Nintendo lets this team come up with a brand new IP or work on something else for its next project.

There's bosses out there roaming around.

Ive only gotten one seed so far, apparently I missed a bunch already juding from the stuff you need to do to get them (I remember seeing the stuff on my travels >_>)

From the very start of the game there two at the first body of water you see/come across. I missed these as well but they are super easy to get. There are almost 900 of them in game so, yeah, we've all missed a lot of them.

Can anyone give a hint to where to find memory #11. Just region it's in would be fine for now, I've got all the others except the one that's I think is in
Hyrule castle
, but I don't even know where to start with this one.

for example, the
ball in chain, I saw one of those, I even grabbed the ball with the magnet and pulled, but had no idea you were supposed to "dunk" it.

part of me thinks its awesome that there is little diretion, but im shit at these type of environmental puzzles so im glad you can just google it.

edit: am I crazy to prefer handheld mode?

I love that I could (final boss and sidequest spoiler)
bring my giant horse into the battle with Ganon.
Seeing it in that cutscene before the fight was so epic.

I love all the little puzzles in the world. It's not just huge for the sake of being huge, but the tons and tons of (albeit small) puzzles is pretty fun.

I have played the crap out of this game (105 shrines, all memories, maxed out guardian armor, etc) and have used my Switch docked for a total of about 5 minutes. Everything else has been in handheld mode.

If you're referring to the memory in the middle row on the right then, yes, you're on the right track. I found it by closely analyzing the map and carefully making my way there, but it goes without saying that it's not exactly an easy memory to get hold of.

Preparing for people to jump down my throat, but....I kind of wish BotW Link played a musical instrument. I know, I know--conducting the winds was an annoyance, and the gesture/microphone controls in SS and ST could be frustrating, but try to put those memories to the side. I think in a sandboxy game like BotW, it would be fun to jam with NPCs and pursue some music-related sidequests. Maybe join a zora band for a bit?

Unrelated note: where is my iron chef minigame? I want it full on Suikoden 2 style, where I can learn the judges' tastes and try to whip them up something they'll like.

Sorry, I meant bottom row, 3rd from left (i.e. 11th from counting from the top row as 1-4, 2nd row as 5-8, 3rd row as 9-12). I thought they were numbered on the screen, but I was mistaken. I have a good idea where that one (7) is, but I want to get the bottom row one before I go looking for the middle one.

Is there a way to see statistics (e.g. how many shrines you beat) on the Wii U version besides during loading screens? I see people talking about statistics, but I think that might be the Switch version.

Hopefully, they put more effort into the dungeon and story content for the DLC than they did for the main game. If not, I'd rather they move ahead to the next game. BotW could make for an amazing DLC platform though if they can really add meaty and worthwhile stuff to do. Hopefully, the story DLC comes with new sidequests. The more time I can spend with BotW's NPCs the better.

Oh, that one. Yep, that one is almost impossible to find. I'd suggest checking out those stables that are likely to be close to the location and get the hint from that painter dude. After that, it's pretty easy to find. Otherwise (region spoilers),
it's somewhere on Hyrule Field
and you can get the respective hint from the painter at
Wetland Stable
.

Have you guys upgraded a piece of armour to max yet buy unlocking the great earth fairy Tera? Her and Link go all the way

He goes all the way with any great fairy who will work on your armor. They all do the animations. Once you unlock a level of upgrade, all fairies do it. So all fairies do all 4 upgrade animations

I don't even know how to ask this question without potentially spoiling something, so I'm going to have to tag the whole thing... can someone who has beaten the game / gotten very far / doesn't care about spoilers explain what just happened when I was exploring the world?

I was just wandering around trying to get a few more Sheikah Towers when I spotted a gold light shooting into the air from a distance. It wasn't quite the same as the pillar of light you get when you tag something through your telescope. I floated my way to this light beam and it was coming from a giant boulder in what appeared to be some sort of ruins or ancient quarry. As soon as I got near the light beam it went away without anything happening, and then never came back.

Probably a shooting star. And you were heading towards a star fragment. They land during the night, but will disappear at 5:00am, which is a genuine pain in the ass.

I hope someone explains this cause it has me confused as well and a friend of mine who has been playing has experience the same.

....

Also, I seem to be getting attacked by more assassins lately out of the blue. Even without prompting it by speaking to certain people. I don't mind it but thought it was sort of odd.

EDIT: Oh, it was explained. Cool

lol @ Yiga Clan
Hideout
. The
guard's animation
when they spot bananas from a distance.

Edit: also found their
banana stash.

Ok yeah, I just looked at a picture and that's what it was. But I had no idea and so I didn't actually find the star fragment, argh!

I figured out The Hero's Cache sidequest though I'm not sure I fully understood the riddle.

Anyone else completing quests by accident? The one with the cedar tree in Hedra also comes to mind.

Seeing one of those for the first time when I began the game was so cool. Definitely a "this is a new kind of Zelda" moment.

I'm almost positive you're mistaken. In the 120+ hours I've played the game, there are 2 (3) variations of the statues that you place fruit offerings in for Korok seeds. I don't believe they ever changed.

Actually reviewing a video, it looks like I WAS mistaken...

Holy crap. All this time I had no idea the apple statue things were korok seed locations. I just did the one by Tarrey Town after reading the above posts and realize how many I have passed up along the way. I always just snatch up the apples, lol.
