Wii U says 154 hours played.

120 Shrines
135 Korok seeds
maxed all regular armor
killed all mini-bosses in the over world
max stamina

Wait, what. There's a few questions I have.

So I just started playing this game on the Wiiu and HOLY crap doe sit run so terrible! I'm trying to get the para glider from the old man but where I have to go is cold and I die.

What am I supposed to do? I charred some peppers and eat them to try to stay warm but no luck.I'm doing something wrong aren't I :(

Dropping food onto an open fire is not the same as cooking food. Cooking food is how you release the benefits detailed in the item descriptions. In order to cook, you'll want to find cooking pots scattered around. Sometimes they won't be lit; in order to light them, swing a lit torch or shoot a fire arrow at the pot. If you don't have access to fire, drop a flint and some wood on the ground next to each other and strike them with a metal weapon. Once the cooking pot is fired up, open your menu and "hold" the items you want to cook, then use them on the pot. You'll know you did it right if you get a little animation and receive the cooked dish. The more peppers you cook at once, the longer the warming effect will last.

Dropping food onto an open fire as you did is really only useful for getting a bit more health out of fruits and meats, as it won't actually unlock any of the cooking potential within items.

Having bad luck finding Ancient Cores. I wish you could sub out Giant Ancient Cores for them when getting gear made. ;)

Even so, I am having a ton of fun looking, and getting way better at parrying lasers.

can someone give me some hints on where to find armor that keeps my temperature down? i activated the tower that covers the volcano region but i can't explore it at all because my face melts off

105 hours in, 92 shrines, 145 korok seeds, 17 hearts, full stamina, lvl 2-3 tier gear (didn't bother with final fairy fountain). Gonna go for Ganon soon.

I love mostly everything about this game. Doing the Great Plateau for the first time and discovering the game mechanics, and then getting set free and paragliding out into the world was.. a feeling I haven't felt in a game in a very long time. I seriously hope they keep the core mechanics and exploration going forward and expand on them.

However.. I seriously did not like the "dungeons" in this game. I know they were trying something new and that the shrines were supposed to help but..damn. That shit was weak :/

I liked that you could control them and use that to solve the objective, which is basically that unique "tool" you would otherwise find as an item in previous game's dungeons, but it wasn't enough IMO. Plus the dungeons themselves were short, and felt way too similar. Both in visual design and actual objectives. I mean ffs you do the exact same thing four times, and even fight a (mostly) similar type of boss. The bosses themselves were too easy - although in all fairness that was probably due to me being overpowered for all but the first one since I explored as much as I could first and got strong that way.

The shrines could have also been designed more thematically according to region or something else since they looked too similar. I always loved finding a shrine and they were fun for the most part, but they did feel fairly repetitive. With as varied and beautiful as the landscape was in this game I felt that they could have done more..

Anyways that's just my two cents. I still adore this game and absolutely cannot wait to see where this franchise goes from here!

So as far as rupee-farming goes, is this still the best method:
snow bowling for 300 rupees per strike?
It's definitely easy once you get the hang of it, but it'd be nice to have another efficient method just to shake things up sometimes.

game keeps telling me that I forgot at least a chest at the moa kishito shrine... but i double checked and looked at YouTube videos too and there is no missing chest

Im not familiar with amiibos and using them. Do I just use it once a day and it randomly selects items that pertain to that amiibo? Because I have the 30th anniversary TLoZ amiibo and only got a sword and some rupees.

You can use each amiibo once per day (not sure if duplicates of the same amiibo work or not). If you want to get a particular item, save, scan your amiibo, and then reload your save if you don't like what you got.

The music man. ;_;

Finally finished the game today. Excellent title. The design of Hyrule Castle is fantastic (and its map is hype).

I wasnt ready for the music!!! It was so damn good.

Which one? Doesn't he have a ton of quests?

Yup. Do them all. Speak to him at the
rito stable
as well if you havent.

After I beat the game the first time I thought, "OK I'm satisfied, no need to go run around and do extra bits." Thankfully I did go back and complete his quest among others. Worth it.

For some reason I never considered that
he was the father of those kids. So going up to the top to see them singing and playing together was a great surprise. The rito village theme with their voices and instruments added sounded amazing.

The Hyrule Castle theme is so, SO goddamn good. I love how the instrumentation changes depending upon where you are at in the castle, as well.

When I entered the castle and heard certain LoZ themes reprised in the music, I legit teared up. Unf.

Wow, it never feels like I'm gonna get sick of this game!

Just a question, guys. Do you get anything for completing the Hyrule Compendium? I'm getting hooked into snapping pics here and there...

I prefer mining and the climbing game. They are not quite as fast, but much more fun to do.

Oh and... I never really say this and I haven't said this in over a decade but...

This game is, legit, the best game I've ever had the pleasure to experience. My new best favorite game ever.

And not trying to start any flame war but honestly it'll be hard to go back to Horizon now. Let's see how I get adjusted back to it.

I havent heard Hyrule Castle yet but I cannot wait for that one. Almost there...

I was loathe to admit it at first as well since hyperbole is tacky, but I have never played a game this good. Ever.
It's absolutely my all-time favorite.

Ahh ok,So thats how u cook food. I was doing it wrong. Now I got cold resist and can do these final 2 shines to get that para glider!

Haha oh wow. I didnt know you could have a round bomb AND a cube bomb active at the same time. They have different triggers. Game changer lol

It's magnificent. You will feel stuff.

Damn! I am slacking. I feel like I have explored so much and iirc, I am at like 52 or so.

So many shrines.

Im a little sad since the more shrines I do the closer to end I am. I havent had my fill :(

I am such a terrible shot with the bow. Took me forever to get all of the knight's gear for my all black horse, now we both match.

Has anyone got a good location to find green horses? I saw a couple early on but I haven't seen one in ages now. I keep finding blue ones but not green.

I remember once there was a shrine with a moving platform going back and forth real close to the ground, and a switch in the middle of the room. The path to the goal was a staircase type thing that was controlled by the switch. What was the intended solution for that one? I didn't use the platform at all.

There was a laser coming out of a small box you coudl carry. Just put the box on the platform so it hits the switch every few seconds

Almost 70 hours in, 60 shrines, all beast accounted for and I don't want it to end. I'm avoiding hyrule field and castle for as long as I can.

But I can't stop thinking about a Pokémon game in this engine.

Even after 135 hours the basic gameplay loop is so fucking satisfying.

I did a shrine and even though I've been to this area earlier, I noticed a small pond that I didnt see before. I head towards it and I looked around and I see a beach. So I glide down and I see a few Korok puzzles and mine some ore.

I get down to the beach and I notice a treasure chest. I go after it and I get curious so I turn on magnesis and I see yet another chest under water! So I go get that as well. Then I turn left and I see another shiny thing in the distance and now I'm running after that as well.

Covering land is one thing but depth is totally another. Some regions have so many chasms and canyons full of secrets. I havent even climbed all the walkways in Gerudo and the Wastelands either. Just staggering. How the fuck did they QA this massive ass game.

I just did that one. I had no idea the laser could be moved. I used two bombs and arrows to control the switch. Damn I feel dumb.

It's truly one-of-a-kind. It's like when you daydream about a game that you think will never exist and then it exists.
