Its a orange pair of earrings, amber I think.
Yeah I think it's amber. I feel bad because I told someone something wrong earlier in the thread. Both amber earrings and diamond circlet offer max defense. So do soldier and ancient helm. I haven't found anything else that does, but maybe there is.

Kill every wolf you find, cook 5 prime meats at a time, score 210 rupees per meat skewer. Without even trying I clear 4 or 5k a run.

There's an even easier way to make money with meat - there's a guy who buys raw gourmet meat for 100 rupees a piece at one of the stables. So instead of earning 210 for 5 pieces you earn 500, and you don't even have to cook. There are hunting grounds nearby who make that a very easy way of making some money.
The strats are too real right now.

I'm at the Divine Beast in the Zora domain and I cannot figure out what I'm supposed to do for the puzzle after the one where I froze the water. Any hints?

Cap of the Wild
also offers max defense.

Try controlling the elephant's trunk and see what effects it does in your surroundings.

Aparently the guide says its enemies. But my lynels leveled up even if I didnt fought them. The first one I beat was a white lynel. Maybe its either.

Maybe someone can grind hundreds of bokoblins on the plateau and face silver enemies without beating any shrines. lol

The further I make it through this game, the more I hate Claymore type weapons. The numbers are good, but those fucking swings! Especially against Lizalfos sucks. I'm all about the polearms now. I love those weapons.

Claymores are really good. Actually, all weapon types are pretty useful in different situations.

There should be something you can control on the divine beast in your map.

I don't think I'm enjoying the game as much as I could be.

The difficulty is a bit steep and I tend to skip most of the big enemy fights because I'm still only at 3 hearts with the starting clothes.

My playtime is at least 10 hours.
I managed to make it towards the end of the elephant divine beast.

Where do I go to make myself stronger with better armor?

Most of the towns have clothing shops where you can buy better armor.

There's also a
Great Fairy Fountain
near Kakariko Village and other locations throughout the world where you can upgrade your armor.

Use a 3x Lynel bow against a Lynel. My inventory is filled with Savage Lynel bow lol and it doesn't even break during the fight.

Does the horse fairy count as a great fairy? I found it but had no interest in resurrecting horses. I will pay the 1000 rupees, however, if it means upgrading my armour more then my only other fairy (near Kakariko) can manage alone.

Nope, I was so disappointed when I found that fountain and got excited :(

Do as many shrines as you find to upgrade your heart count (you should be at 4 hearts after the 4 shrines in the begining). When you get to kakariko you can buy a new set of better clothes, and you can also upgrade it nearby at the great fairy.

Dont let the "game is so easy scrub just get stamina and fight naked with a tree branch" type posts intimidate you.

I didn't realize so many level four armor upgrades required so many gems and I'm kind of mad.

This is one of those situations where I wish people had been more direct with me. After weeks of cryptic comments and vague suggestions that "you'll need them later," I reached a point where I thought I understood what they were for and didn't keep many dozens of gems I had accumulated.

I thought they were only for Gerudo jewelry. For many days I have been advocating selling gems because the Gerudo jewelry isn't really worth upgrading. People would agree with me. Sell your gems, they'd say. The jewelry isn't worth it, they'd agree. Conversations about what to do with gems have revolved around the crafting of Gerudo jewelry. In all these conversations, there were always a few people who would say something like "you'll need them later" or "you'll regret selling those." But they never elaborated. They never explained what they were getting at. I've been in this OT since launch day and have seen the question come up over and over and over and I've never seen somebody who knew be upfront about why gems were worth keeping.

So I finally just looked up what it was for and I'm feeling pretty burned. It takes 45 opal to fully upgrade the
Zora Armor
. 30 topaz for the
Rubber Set
. 15 rubies for the
Snowquill.

I understand being cautious of spoilers in an OT, but OTs exist to improve our collective experience. Maybe lots of people here were like me and didn't realize gems had such an important function. Maybe lots of people here were like me and thought their use ended at jewelry. But for all the times it has come up and people have asked, I've never seen anybody make a clear point that you DO, definitively, want to keep a number of your gems. Not just for optional cosmetics, but for things you might use every single day.

I would advise, moving forward, to be more specific when people ask what gems are for and whether they should hold onto them. It won't take me that long to reaccumulate everything I sold, but I know I'm going to unlock the fourth upgrade option soon as I could have upgraded everything as soon as I found it. Instead, I sold everything as soon as I got to Gerudo.

Spent the whole weekend exploring the Hebra region and last night did the Divine Beast Vah Medoh quest and to whoever said that it was the most bland region and town I will have him in my prayers because the whole thing was AMAZING!

[...]

Yeah, I haven't quite been everywhere yet (southeastern region is still waiting on me), but so far I've felt like Hebra is the most content-dense region in the game. More shrines, more koroks, more hidden chests/treasure, more varied terrain.

The Medoh quest was great, too. Easy, maybe, but the whole thing from the initial approach to the beast's landing felt like a true adventure in the sky.
Jumping out into the open air
to reach certain spots in that bird was exhilarating.

Just dropping in to say that Zelda has really grown on me. I still HATE the English voice actress, but having seen all of the memories , I think the character herself feels extremely well realized. I'd consider her of a similar quality level to Midna.

She's not perfect. She's not always likable. She's not always strong. But she seems real and well-rounded in ways other Zeldas never did.

This was my game 2 days ago:

Since then I did another divine creature and 5 more shrines. I'm over 60 hours.

where was the final location for the
korok seed
guy again? He told me where he was going the last time I met him but fuck me if I remember it. I ran into him twice before naturally but I believe his final location is a specific place that you dont really wander to naturally?

Cap of the Wild
also offers max defense.

Try controlling the elephant's trunk and see what effects it does in your surroundings.

If it's the
big wheel
, you might wanna look at your map.

There should be something you can control on the divine beast in your map.
The puzzle that I'm referring to has something to do with stasis. There is a ball on one side and a chest on the other. I'm no seeing what you guys are telling me.

In the Korok forest

To the people who keep complaining about "constant" rain in this game.
Why don't you check the weather which is shown at all times during the game and just light up a campfire before it starts raining and skip the rainy phases. It even shows you how far you have to skip.
Use the goddamn game mechanics.

If you think that 'mechanic' is fun, yeah.

So I'm hearing in this thread that some gemstones are useful later, but I haven't heard much about sapphires. How expendable are those?

Stamina's the way to go.
You can use a shrine to swap stamina hearts, for 20 rupees.

Ya I found that but I've still been doing hearts as I came to understand there is something you can do with
13 hearts
. I know you can change but I seem to be low on cash in this game.

Look at the wheel next to it and ask yourself why it moves.

Answer:

It's water.

After that wait for the right time to use stasis.

new page anyone know?

sometimes I see a 1 sometimes I see a 3 not sure what affects the amount of times I can use a power

They're consumable. Some have more max ammo than others. The number goes down as you use it, once it's at 0 there's a recharge period after which it returns to its maximum ammo.

I think I'm going to take on whatever the Gerudo beast is when I play tonight. I've only done one so far (Zora) but I've found and completed over 50 shrines, discovered seven memories and located 120 korok seeds.

If I wander around aimlessly and gleefully enjoying the world much longer I feel like I'll end up defeating the remaining divine beasts and Ganon in a row because it'll be all I'll have left to do. With two beasts conquered I think some equilibrium in my progress will be restored.

Will also give me that vital
thirteenth heart to claim the Matter Sword.

Man you jammed on stamina upgrades.

I did 1 stamina upgrade and all the rest hearts so far. I have 8 hearts.

I did all my stamina first. Plenty of recipes give you more than enough bonus hearts already. I want the max amount of stamina all the time. I want to be able to climb, run and swim as much as I can without having to eat or drink constantly. Having max stamina all the time is more fun for me - I need it constantly, unlike a large number of hearts which I only need in very specific enemy encounters. Eating stuff for bonus hearts at those moments is easy enough - I need to do that far less than I would have needed to eat bonus stamina meals all the time.

I'm at 102 shrines, about 129 korok seeds. Since I don't plan to collect all seeds, I'm...quite close to what the game can offer to me.

I'm really sad at the thought of, you know, stop playing the game. What do I do after a long day of work, if not slowly scouring Hyrule and finding silly little secrets?

Only 771 seeds to go!

Jk

But I know that feel

There's white lynels hand placed in the map (hebra region in particular). The scaling gives a chance for an enemy to be a stronger variant, so a red lynel could become white, a white lynel spawn could become silver, etc.
