Watching a BOTW stream I still laugh out loud every time Link makes an offering to the Great Fairies and they just snatch it out of his hands.

Re: The Golf Shrine

Hit it
dead straight, exactly 5 times
with an iron hammer. Any more than that and the ball will go flying off the platform you need it to land on.

I have no clue how to get the chest though,
6
hits will get you to the platform but with too much force. I think it needs to be ricocheted off of a pillar or something.

The trick is to hit it
5 times with a hammer, then one more time with a lighter weapon like a one handed sword.

If you really want to know
hit it 5 times with the hammer then once with a single handed sword. You can also just hit it 11 times with a single handed sword and skip using the hammer.

Whoever decided that great fairies are money-hungry, suggestive giant ladies need a raise. I really like the shot when Link is talking to her, she looks massive.

I can never time this right. I just stun them in the eye and then hack their legs off.

The trick is not to parry exactly when you see the flash, but wait one fraction of a second after the flash. I kept parrying too early. Once you get it it's really rewarding.

Man, I just realized that all my time in the game, I only had the climbing gear on.

Never bother with anything else. The gear looked way to awesome to change it.

Please Add it to Smash Sakurai.

Or you know...
Buy that shield
.
Parrying it is more awesome tho

Okay, I've finally faced a shrine that's kicking my brain down. It's the one in the
Los woods about looking to the stars and constellations

I've literally sat there looking like an expert in cracking code and nothing.

I spent almost an hour on this shrine and my girlfriend came out and solved it within a minute.

I need a Shrine help

Bareeda Naag

I need to just touch a platform with a fire item like a torch at 12:35pm but I don't know who I need to talk to to activate the side quest so the platform is activated first so the fire will activate the shrine

Alright, with the Goron dungeon finished, I've done all the important stuff and ready to head to Hyrule Castle for the final face-off. Debating whether I should bring the Champion weapons and the Hylian shield.

Also, is there a place to get another Windcleaver? I've only gotten the one throughout the game, and it's probably the coolest-looking weapon in the game. Oh, and is 5-shot bow the highest x-shot in the game (like is there a 6/7-shot bow in the game)?

if you haven't completed the divine beast here, you'll need to do it first. then talk to one of the rito up in the village to get the quest started

Sad story: I put an item with a special buff on it (in this case, a bow with 5X shots) on my (sidequest spoiler)
house's wall
and came back to pick it up, and it lost the buff. Be careful, folks.

Whaaaaaaaat?! Shiiiit, lol. I just put up my best weapons on my
wall
tonight before saving. Edit: I might be fine loading an auto-save before my save. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Kill the buff Yiga clan dudes and they drop one.

I guess they pop up randomly? Haven't had one appear yet, but good to know I can get more.

Don't lie, you were wearing the climbing gear pants and bandanna with no shirt.

This is my favorite outfit in the game. Everything about the Hylian set is dope. The sand boots however takes the outfit to another level. Looks adventurous af.

A lot better than the plain blue tunic. Wearing that thing 'IRL' wouldn't be such a breeze for longer timespans. It looks to have chainmail beneath the outer layers. Gets kind of lost seeing how nimble Link still moves.

I got lost in lost woods last night. I didn't progress much but it seemed huge. Could this wood be as big as the whole Ocarina of Time surface?

I understood fire would help me find a way in this fog. Anything else I should know?

Hell no, the sleeveless shirt is awesome.
I also wear my yellow climbing gear almost always unless I have to wear environmental protection. Even then I still wear the bandanna. It was the first headgear I found in the game and it has served me well. My climbing gear is two stars - definitely not my best defense - but I don't change for battles. Two stars is quite an ok damage level to keep me on my toes.

Honestly I hate exploring areas with a timer. I'd fine another warm piece of clothing before Hebra. But you can hold a torch or flameweapon as well

Me too, for the hotter areas I
went straight to the Boron shop to buy the armor but it seems now there is a simple quest to get at least a piece..oh well

I can only hope "new map feature" in the DLC bullet points is pointing towards this. Even if it's only one new area I'll take what I can get!

I can see the Gerudo desert being expanded a bit pretty easily, or an island further out to sea, the other directions don't really seem possible.

Hudson is the best character in BOTW

True Hero

Hudson will build us a bridge over the cliffs!

119 Shrines... Damn! Looking for the last one is going to make my head hurt.

Anyway! With all the Divine Beast on my control and a lot of crazy good gear decided that it was time to go to
Hyrule Castle
and I was ot dissapointed at all at how complex and dangerous the whole thing is and found some crazy strong items like the
Royal Guard weapons and a HYLIAN SHIELD!!!

Also managed to unlock all the memories and
found the diaries...
yep, she really is becoming my favorite versio of Princess Zelda.

Okay. Just finished at 126hrs.

The final battle was fun. Or rather,
the latter half on horseback was
.

Reading messages here made [opinions about ending]
the ending seem like it was super great. I liked it, to be sure, but it was kind of... Stunted feeling?

Did you see the huge closed door/portal in the top left of the map? I wonder if future DLCs will open it to extend the map to behind north mountains.

I guess they pop up randomly? Haven't had one appear yet, but good to know I can get more.

I think they don't appear in the overworld until a certain event has happened, though I'm not 100% sure what that event is
I think it's either after beating vah naboris, or after beating 3 divine beasts. I myself started seeing them randomly in the world after beating vah naboris, which was my third divine beast, but I'm not sure exactly what was the trigger. Maybe it's just after you steal back the thunder helm, idk

Most people have been complaining about the ending. I think it was too easy, almost as if they wanted to give people a chance who didn't complete a lot of stuff first.
The horseback part should have been a real fight

As for the story part, it seems as though they left it open for DLC. Well see about that

120 shrines :) No sensor for about 110 of them. I finished my final beast, the desert one, at 115 shrines so there was very little "shrine hunting" for me left to do. Granted I also have 470 korok seeds and 150hrs playtime, nearly all gear at lvl 4... so yeah, I've been exploring every inch of the map as I went like a crazy person!

The reward for 120 shrines is fantastic.
I didn't expect the tunic and cap to look so good in the BotW world. Part of me wishes you could get it earlier, but the other part of me knows it's an awesome reward to get and wear right before taking on Ganon :D I'm not going to uprade it so the final boss has some extra difficulty, and it general it can be like a Hard Mode tunic.

Gonna be sad to finish up probably the greatest game I've ever played. Which I plan to do tomorrow...

So this was my endgame inventory before finishing and putting down the game. I hope there will be more hard stuff to fight with future updates:

failed the korok following quest twice and have no desire to do it again :|
once because he randomly runs backwards without warning, the second because he asks you to help him when theres a wolf, but then sees you and fails you which at that point I thought he just knew you were there.
It doesnt help that I can barely see shit through the fog, framerate and lower resolution (wiiu, not sure if this was fine on switch)

basically fuck that quest

fought my first lynel... at 3 hearts. It took me an hour and a half, but I did it. Looking up videos now, didn't know you could use stasis on him lmao. I killed him old bayonetta style.

Maxed out my ancient armor ^_^

Also that Colosseum is good for farming weapons and shields. You can get 9 elemental weapons and 3 - 4 55 defence shields.

You can also kill lynels without using up any weapon durability. You need to be good at sniping, though.

Took me 4 tries you are close

Ok so I think I've done like 5 or 6 motion controlled shrines and got pretty much all of them on my first try, controls were super responsive and realistic (so much better than the Wii waggle) and they were actually pretty fun to solve!

Seriously GAF, what's with the hate?

The framerate was fine for me on Switch though I am not that sensitive to it so it could be 25fps or something.
As for the quest itself
You can trail quite far behind him and he does the same routine every time. I used a bow for the wolf. He checks the spot where the wolf was but not the place the arrow came from. I did wear the sheikah stealth outfit but not sure if that really makes a difference.

I've hit 75 shrines and it's starting to get difficult to find new ones. Any tips? Or is there any way to upgrade the distance on the radar?

Some are shrine quests that can't be detected by the sensor. Either you go talk to people for clues or riddles, or explore and see if there are suspicious areas that has a shrine quest.

A ton of Shrines won't turn up on the radar, they're locked behind Quests. Keep an eye out for Kass (the Rito accordionist). He has a little hut
in the west
with a diary of his locations.
