Does
The Lord of the Mountain have any quests associated with it? I know he's a very obvious nod to the late Satoru Iwata given the description inn the Hylian Compenduum.
I'm kind of affraid unmounting it.

Oh, so I saw it mentioned that the credits music was also in a trailer. It features a prominent cut in the music near the end, which sounded terrible, like a mistake. Can anyone explain that? Was it intentional? It was right at the very end of the credits, too, IIRC, so it was particularly strange that it still sounded like that.

Finally maxed out the slots for melee weapons. Only took over 200 seeds. Now I guess I can stop worrying about them because bows take forever to chew through and I still haven't broken my
Hylian Shield
.

Still, going through unexplored areas and finding the little puzzles is really fun.

Strange I haven't broken my Hylian shield either. I must have deflected over 100 guardian lasers off of it too.

The
Iwata looking
NPC tells you about it. I don't think it's a quest but just something you can discover

I switched from Japanese to Spanish just out of curiosity, and man, Spanish Zelda is definitely my favorite so far. Really great voice acting, wayyyyyy better than English.

Did you 100% the game? I personally wouldn't really think about a second playthrough with so much still to do in this one.

Yeah, I'm doing a 100% run and never touching it again outside of the DLC. There just isn't anything in the core worth going back to for me. I took the same approach with Xenoblade X and MGSV but at least MGSV had MGO and the FOB stuff to continue playing around with.

That wolf link amiibo with 20 hearts is pretty OP

I wanted to use him but he disappeared when I entered a shrine so I figured it just wasn't worth the trouble. I might start using him if I choose to start farming materials.

Finished up the
Thunderblight Ganon
fight last night, and holy shit, was that frustrating, hah.

The fight itself is pretty simple, perfect dodge, rinse repeat. But, why does Link lose lock-on every fucking time? Half the fight, was me thinking I would flip backward, only to have Link turn around and get fucked up because he wasn't locked on. It was maddening! Not to mention the 2nd phase of the fight
magnesis on the metal poles
is a pain in the ass, not because it's hard, but because controlling that shit is fucking awful.

I love the game, but man, the controls can be soooo shit at times.

the distance on the lock-on is bad and it seems to only lock on to stuff in view of the camera. I personally hated it and how awful the camera gets when in close to bigger enemies.

The consensus is getting good at bowling. The second best is becoming a Goron and mine for precious rocks to sell.

Bowling doesn't really need getting good at. If you drop the snowball right behind the bowling guy so that it slowly goes around him on his left side, it will be a strike 80% of the time. I think, aside from being a fortunate angle, this is also because it collects more snow before rolling down, so it becomes bigger and faster.

You want a crazy location?

Whenever there are three trees next to each other with a fruit, two will have one and the third one will have more. Pick only the ones in the third tree that aren't in the other two trees. This goes for apple trees and others.

I found this by pure chance when I used a hammer because that's just way easier.

What the fuck. O_o

I've told myself that I will do my first divine Beast after I defeat a Lynel in combat. Based on trying once, I'm pretty far away.

I've just been wandering around since I started playing last Wednesday. Yesterday I got lost in the Hebra mountains for hours. Didn't get much done, but I have plenty of prime meat now. And every tower except one.

4/5 of an extra Stamina bar and 9 hearts in total. Hardly any actual questing, I feel like I haven't even started the game yet.

Have a bunch of seeds in my inventory but haven't found Macarena Man in awhile.

Loving every minute of it.

My first Lynel experience did not end well, and that was out in the wild. At first I did my normal routine, which is to gear up with my heaviest/most protective armor, equip a good weapon, then make sure I have whatever arrow I want to go in with.

Ass handed to me. But I was at like 6 hearts, and up until then had only faced bobkins and the other big lumbering beasts. I hadn't even seen a Lizalfos yet ;)

------

I got lucky and found Macarena Tree man the second time. I could tell you approximately where?
Near one of the stables, west of Zora's entrance.

I've logged more than 40 hours so far and have yet to travel in the northern regions. The map is so darn big. But like you, I am lving every minute of it.

Lynels are easy if you have good aim and know the "trick".

Headshot to stun them, mount them, attack rapidly, repeat. If you're fast you can avoid getting attacked completely.
Urbosa's Fury
(the Gerudo Divine Beast gift) is quite useful as well.

I knew those were Korok seeds from the very first time I saw one, but I didn't quite "get" it, so I've been marking them and leaving them. Guess I was on the right track.

Bonus tip - these are viewable on the map, so you can try and scan around for them.

Yeah, that's kind of my thinking behind it, I use the Pro HUD already (so no minimap) but I really feel like once I've found all the shrines, I should know Hyrule well enough to get along without a map at all.

Only thing might be
the mazes. Those would suuuuuck without the map.

Took down my first flying Guardian today. All it took was me making a shelter with two boulders and a sheet of metal and sniping the bastard with one ancient arrow, three bomb arrows, seven fire arrows, five electric arrows, and a hell of a lot of regular arrows.

Also slapped it with a metal crate a few times for good measure :)

One ancient arrow to the eye will usually do the trick

Man, the beginning sequence in the Great Plateau is still really enchanting the second time through. I still find myself curious and excited about each discovery, even if they're more familiar now. Like, cool, my first spear! My first fish! It's been a blast.

Cooking food to get the warm tunic felt like such a pain in the ass in my first play through, but this time I already had all the necessary ingredients before the time came, haha. I guess BOTW finally got me to accept the tediousness of crafting systems. Not sure if I should be thankful or not though, haha.

Walking out of the cave and seeing the world for the first time was really great even if I had already seen that scene before.

Shrouded Shrine, WOW! That has to be one of my highlights so far. Did Eventide yesterday too, the game keeps giving even 120+ hours into it.

I wish it was for sale somewhere. It's my favorite soundtrack in years.
I got the Master Edition, so I have the sound selection, but yeah I wish there was a complete OST for sale. Though I wish MANY Nintendo games had complete OSTs for sale. Like, every Smash Bros. for example...

Pretty certain that someone is working on extracting this music using CEMU and the Wii U copy.

I'm 80 hours in. Just Missing 1 beast, 11 shrines and 10 sidequests, if my calculations are correct.

I'm beating this in time for Persona 5 for sure :D

Just got the
Master Sword
after 40 hours, 48 shrines, and only one Divine Beast. I'm playing this game wrong, aren't I?

Edit: also the pro controller makes aiming and gyro 100x better. Wish I scored one at launch.

Its some of the most fun I've had with the game. The Koroks are often in areas the devs clearly wanted you to see but you might miss if you don't explore every nook and crany
I've put in 100+ hours and have found 142 so far. Getting them all is straight up unfathomable to me. But zero judgement, I think it's awesome that you're going for it and having fun with it!

There's no such thing!

Has anyone figured out what determines when a shop will restock an item? Sometimes it seems like months of ingame time will pass before I can buy another set of arrows, while other things that I need less often come back almost immediately. It's not blood moons either.

If you meet him at the summit he'll give you the warm doublet just for showing up.

What I'm wondering is, will we be getting any notable title updates/QoL tweaks? Outside of potential bug fixes that is. Or will what's currently there be largely static?
