Nintendo switch brilliant ad in magazine

They're nice ads, but I wouldn't go so far as to say brilliant. It's good to see the strong messaging though, which the Wii U never really had (and the Wii had in spades).

Best magazine ad for me is still Paper Mario.

I admit i don't find it brilliant.
But i don't bitch about the existence of this thread. The op like it more than me, so what!

Simple, they are ads that you see everywhere. This 4 to 5 words to describe products exists through the world. Like Xbox with the Jump in, or Playstation with the Greatness Awaits. This kinds of ads to me are in no way brillant or even good. They are normal, hence why I said that OP should have posted this on the switch thread.

We already spend too much time about theses adds. Time to read another thread.

Would be a little better if more than 1 of those games was actually released

Lol what a petty thing to complain about in an ad.....for a recently released console.

Man do we really need a post dedicated to adds?

Are adds not in your face enough already? Do you, work for Nintendo?

Christ...this post and many in the thread. You know it's ok for someone to like something and they might not be employed by the company right?

Fanboys gonna fanboys I guess... Weird thread.

Uh huh

Oh, you mean your second post as response after being called for using "fanboys"?

Ok.

..

How about some of you guys just don't click on the thread? You knew what it was going to be about..

I think they're pretty good. People don't need the exact functionality rammed down their throats. Something eye catching will spark an interest for someone to do their own bit of research
Hey guys, it's a new Switch topic, let's say it's trash, always works.
It just makes it easier to build that ignore list.

And yes more than seeing "brilliant" ads it's good to see Nintendo try more.

Uuuuuhh....

I was expecting some kinda fancy 3d foldout or something.

Guess it's been a while since a saw a magazine...So... Thread redeemed!

This should be locked solely based on the quality of replies. Feels like I've ventured into the comment section of a Digital Foundry YouTube video.

"Hey! GAF! Come quick! Someone is being a little overzealous about a gaming platform!"

"...soooo? PS4 is brilliant! Did you hear about how well the PS4 is doing this year?"

"no, you don't understand, they're talking about a Nintendo platform!"

*everyone starts flinging their shit like monkeys*

There wouldn't be half of y'all in here wheeling out the word 'fanboy' if this wasn't a Nintendo thread, lmao. Thanks for keeping it transparent, y'all.

Nintendo ads are about fun, no one else understands fun like Nintendo. So you can keep your technical details like interesting art or layout, I'll be over here looking at my FUN Nintendo ads.

Uh huh

Ok.

Man I must've pissed you off with my first message.

To me for this kinds of ads only a fanboy would call it brilliant. That's all I meant. But if you want to keep on digging on my search history for something go ahead.

Has anyone explained what's brilliant about them? They just look like cover art to me. I enjoy a good advertisement when they're clever but I don't see what's special about these ones.

Is it the illeteration?

People got aggravated and defensive because OP used the word "brilliant". I swear I fucking hate GAF sometimes.

To be fair, 'brilliant' has a meaning. If the thread title was 'Nintendo Switch ad in magazine' I don't think there would have been anywhere near as much backchat.

while i agree that the ads are standard at best, complaining about the thread existing is just unnecessary. A few years ago thread whining was a ban-able offense. It's game related on a game enthusiast's forum. If this was a commercial, I'm sure half the complains of the thread wouldn't exists, if not all. But a commercial is no less an ad than the images provided by the OP.

I suppose it's because in few words Nintendo managed to pass the idea that you can play this kind of games everywhere I guess. I guess OP got impressed with that.

Toilets are meant to be places of quiet reflection and spiritual learning, not FUN!

toilets are places where you drop waste

they're also the place where you blast tiny little particles of waste matter into the surrounding air

like, if I was the only person using my Switch, I'd use it on the toilet. Sparingly. And I'd feel bad about it. But I'm not the only person, so I'm not doing it, lol.

Nah, first you mudsling, then act like nothing happened.

Tbh, they aren't. The problem is the thread whining

Nintendo + Zelda = automatically BRILLIANT!
7/10

I take it you weren't on GAF yet when Sony had their phase with the bleeding baby commercials?

Anyway, you have my personal guarantee that if someone were to tout the brilliance of a mediocre to bad ad (like those in the OP) by any other company, we'd be here to shit on that guy as well.

It's an okay ad, I guess.

Lmao, gaf is incredibly defensive when it comes to nintendo.

That's one way to dismiss me, but I'm right. I've seen this shit play out before. People aren't just blithely dismissed as 'fanboys' in "Let's celebrate X PS4 feature or happening, however mundane" threads.

If you like something Nintendo did, though, you're a half-step away from being considered a fanboy. Always. All it takes for someone to stop considering me as "this guy who buys and plays most of his games on PC and evangelizes the platform" and start seeing me as "lol Nintendo fanboy" is seeing me post about Zelda a couple of times, as an example.

I'm a pretty big Nintendo fan these days, but those are pretty bland. I mean the games themselves are enough to hook me, but there's nothing really interesting, funny, or attention grabbing outside of that.

It's sad the the word brilliant took the focus of what i wanted to discuss which is how nintendo is pushing the switch compared to the wii u and how this could effect its sales.

I would edit the title but it seems its too late as the thread turned toxic war of acusing people of being fanboys.

Mods are welcome to lock this thread.
