So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

For my fellow SoCal and OC peeps, Gamestop in Huntington Beach has a few. Picked one up today. Not a bundle either. Had store credit so i had to buy from them. Still about 5 left

Edit: They had pro controllers there too and i def shoulda got one. These joycon's are annoying me although i am gonna check out portable mode in bed later. Irritated i have to give Gamestop more business tomorrow when i'd rather buy from Amazon.

Heads up NYC GAF, it seems the toys r' us in College Point is gonna get a few systems on the 9th. Don't know if any other stores are gonna get them too on that day but it might be worth it checking other stores around the area. Good luck!

Germany: My local Saturn in Bochum has a bunch of Switches in stock. They only sell them bundled with 1-2-Switch for 359 (if I remember correctly).

Maryland: I talked to a cashier at Bestbuy this weekend. Cashier said their stock is pretty bad. They never get any notice as to when it arrives, it usually just shows up. If they do get stock it sells out pretty quickly. This BestBuy is located at one of the busiest malls in Maryland.

They had load of Botw Switch cases. Then around 10 of each of Issac, 1+2 Switch, etc. No pro controllers.

My recommendation for this situation for those looking, ask a BestBuy associate to help search for one in their inventory system. I'm not talking the any search that can be viewed by the public, I mean their inventory their workers can access. It's a long shot, but if they can help you locate a unit, that might be your best bet rather then calling. If the guy helping you is awesome they could try to put a hold on it, though with how much of a high demand item it is I doubt they could do much cept show you were the unit is being housed at. This is one of the ways I got a Wii U back when it was rare.

I saw a Nintendo Switch in person at a Meijer store I shop at infrequently. I didn't get it because;, I already have one and I'm not sure if it's worth it at the moment to try and sell one. I did snag 2 NES Classics there about a month or so ago. I gave one to a friend for doing work with me at my house and sold the other one for about double MSRP, so they kinda paid for itself.

I did see there too, Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack for both PS4 and X1 for $4. I considered it, but I'm not really into those games.
I do regret not getting the Guitar Hero Live - Wii U, I think that was $8 (with guitar).

A Gamestop near me (Phoenix, AZ) has 5 of the gray ones in stock and I'm trying to be a grownup and resist because 1) I would really prefer the red-blue and 2) the responsible thing would be to unhook one of my old consoles to trade toward it, and I know by the time I get home, do that and get to the store they'd be sold out anyway.

Buy it, don't open it. Bring your console back to the store, return the system, and trade everything in for it.

I've been keeping my eye out for a neon switch but haven't seen/heard of any stock for over a week in Ventura County just north of Los Angeles. That is for either color.

Just went into the Exchange in my local Air Force Base and they had 6 pro controllers. I wasn't planning to get one just yet but decided I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

The TRU twitter account just tweeted that Switches will be available in store for Sunday, so it must be a nationwide restock for them.

Seems like restocks are flowing out to retail. Will be interesting to see if these are all snapped up (again) leaving shortages.

The TRU restock could be telling. It's an announced restock for a day on the weekend. If these stores get a decent amount of stock and are still turning away people in lines because they don't have enough, then we'll know that demand is still crazy high. If not, then supply is probably close to catching up, here in the U.S. at least.

I found a a bundle.on Walmart.com earlier. It had the switch, $50 Nintendo ecard and protective case/screen protector. All together it was $380. I'm planning on downloading Zelda unless there's a major reason to buy a retail copy. Does the Switch have enough internal storage for Zelda?

apparently i found everything I wanted on Tuesday

a pro controller and the neon red and blue joy cons

and i also saw like 4 or 5 switches at a wal mart

which shock the hell out of me and it was like 3 pm in the afternoon in a 24/7 wal mart

Stores on average look to be getting around 15-20 systems in, at least according to a friend at TRU who looked up a few for me to see. We didn't look to see what colors though.

Still Sold out in the Netherlands people are hungry for Zelda.

Mario Kart probably will make it a bit worse again first big online multiplayer game.

Edit: most Zelda amiibo's are aswell. Really want Sheik and TP Zelda for dat bow and mask pls restock Ninty:(

I've been calling around today based on iStockNow. One Walmart shows 20 grey, and 7 neon. Its been showing around that number for a week now, but the stock slowly goes down. If you call or stop by they tell you they're out of stock.
Three other Walmarts told me theyre out of stock, one ToysRUs told me to check back tomorrow morning, a BestBuy told me the same thing.

As others have said here, it seems a lot of stores are holding back store for Sunday morning.

If Walmarts are open 24 hours a day, does anyone know what time they may restock? Depends on if an employee feels like doing it at that time?

Saw 5 at my local Wal-Mart, I'm sure the other 3 in my city have some as well. Ended up snatching 1 for myself along with Zelda BotW. Will get to it after Persona 5.

I have a nephew who works at 1 and he says they usually restock overnight when there's less people at the 24 hour Wal-Marts.

I mean, whats a big restock? 20-30 units per store? The demand doesn't have to be crazy high for a advertised restock on a Sunday to move 30 units.

Best Buy is having a switch "relaunch" tomorrow. We've been getting units in all week just for tomorrow, and for the first time since launch, theres neon ones too, though very few. Shipment was not nearly as much as what we had at launch total (about 100) but guess itll do. Once again ticketed like launch though. This goes for all best buys that didnt fail to read the message from corporate (some stores admitted that the memo came too late and they sold their supposed held units as soon as they arrived).

Sadly I had to sell my launch system and Zelda SE to pay for car repairs. Very tempting to try and get another one tomorrow, however within the next two months I have to save money to pay for moving into a new apartment and both of my daughter's birthdays are in early May.

Honestly family and life first. Wait another month or two and you will have even more stuff to play.

Not telling you how to spend your money, but I would save the money and buy one over the summer after you're settled in your new place and your daughter's birthdays.

I'll have to agree with everyone else: the console and games can wait until everything important is settled.

So I am going to try Toys R Us tomorrow morning and they open at nine. What's a good strategy here...It's right up the road but it's also Sunday morning. What would be a good time to start getting in line?
