Injustice 2 - Introducing The Flash!

Link.

Once known as the fastest man alive, Barry Allen has hung up his boots in public shame after defecting from the Regime. However as a new enemy threatens the innocent, the Flash returns to action, determined to redeem himself.

Also comes in Reverse.

I like that special move

As a non fighting game fan, I hate that they games look so damn good. I bought both injustice and MKX at launch because the presentation in both were top notch.

I probably put in like 2 weeks worth of play time across both games lol

Barry really took that first Savitar beating to heart.

This looks glorious in 60 fps, but kinda hard to follow.

I was not sure I needed another Neatherealms fighter for awhile. The latest MK was good, but not as good as MKX.

That being said, the slow reveals of the Injustice cast has kept me very interested. I feel like their team is knocking it out of the park with this one. I'll almost certainly end up picking this up on Day 1.

what? MKX is the latest MK

The lightning throw projectile, tornado spin, and the dive kick move are all gear abilities.
So you can't actually use them in any game mode that matters.

So it's a little weird to show them in that trailer.

MKX is the most recent MK game, unless you mean MKXL (which is just MKX with all of the DLC released up to that point).

On-topic, STOP FUCKING WITH THE TIMELINE, BARRY!!!!! But seriously, I'm glad that the Speed Force Lightning Toss isn't locked to a certain piece of gear.

Why do you think so?

Edit: I thought he meant MK9 and made a typo?

Well you have to look at it from a casual standpoint rather than the trailers being geared for competitive play

Yeah. Game looks dope but I don't have much interest in fighting games

Locking abilities to the gear system is such a huge fuckup. The game seems fantastic otherwise.

This game looks so good and the characters are in comparison to the first Injustice so appealing and oozing with personality. Can't wait to try out my first Injustice. :)

Uhgg I love DC characters so much + I enjoyed the story of injustice 1. But fuck while the gameplay looks cool and fun in videos, playing these fighting game is such a pain

I can't memorize combos for the life of me in these type of fighting games. No mashing buttons isn't enjoyable at all. Also movement always feels like shit in a 2d plane.

Add me to the list who Wish this wasn't a fighting game.

I might just watch all the cutscenss on YouTube for the story mode

Dammit

Maybe they could enable those moves in Competitive Mode with an update.

I don't think they would, and in a way they are right not to, it would end up being kind of a cluster fuck.

My main issue with it, is that some of the gear abilities feel like they should be default to the character, and replace some of the older moves.

I have zero hype for Captain Cold now that I found his air dash and his ice platform are gear abilities.

It's a weird thing and they are kinda fucked no matter what they do.

His super involves sending his opponent back to the dino age and literally smacking them into a dinosaur AND finishing it off by making a paradox and literally hitting themselves with each other... That is awesome.

It makes you wish they had just wholesale copied the variant system from MKX instead of putting it into Gear.

It's crazy because I actually kind of want to see a purely cosmetic gear system put into place for the next MK.

Sub-zero needs to have his Shredder helm from Deception.

It's not a NR game unless for everything they do well, there's one or two things you question.

I'm happy I'll actually be able to play this online with the better netcode this time. That's huge for longevity. I love all the gear pieces for the visual customization, but don't like having to play in an unbalanced gear mode to use the abilities. I agree they should have just done the MKX variant system and kept abilities outside of gear if they really wanted to put in a ton of oddball abilities. Flash and Cold seem like two that have the most interesting moves limited to abilities.

I'm still a little skeptical about the monetization too. I'm aware of what they have said so far, but I still don't think it's 100% clearly explained.

Running all the way to the Jurassic era just to smash a person against a dinosaurs head. I'm certain a brick wall would be more effective.

Should have had Flash drag the person into the moment just before the theorized dinosaur-ending meteor hit, drop them, run through the rift and watch Flash's opponent fly through soon after, covered in flames.

The other part of the special move was cool though.

Can't wait to see what other traits he has. I never liked his time slow thing.

He only has the one trait. Gear changes abilities, adds meterburn versions or adds abilities, or changes super moves but it doesn't change the character trait.

At least none as far as we've seen. Guess you're gonna have to force yourself to like the time slow :)

We actually know about a bunch of abilities that change the character powers, but instead of replacing them entirely it changes how they function (bats that swarm around the opponent instead of Batman, swapping Bane's armor buff for more damage, et cetera). It's likely that Flash has a few versions of his trait. I could see him ditching the slowdown for a trait that physically speeds him up.

Oh yes, that's right. I forgot about the Batman gear.

Though most of the gear does seem to target abilities, I guess it's possible Flash might have some trait changing gear. Though tbh, speeding him up instead of slowing the opponent down sounds incredibly annoying to deal with.

Like Ryce said, there are gears that can change traits. In the Beta, I found a piece of gear that turned Black Canary's Canary Cry trait into a Sonic Grenade that could be thrown.

I'd like it if he had a trait that doubled his hits or something. Like a delayed after image.
