Injustice 2 - Introducing The Flash!

Huh. Guess there's more trait changing gear than I thought.

Glad I was wrong tbh. Really curious to see what Green Arrow's trait is and how the gear system affects that.

The lightning throw projectile, tornado spin, and the dive kick move are all gear abilities.
So you can't actually use them in any game mode that matters.

So it's a little weird to show them in that trailer.

To be fair not everyone thinks balanced ranked mode matters, and people may be fine playing online casuals with gear stats on. Although for how long, I don't know. People don't like losing in fighters and a players having a readily displayed stat advantage on top of moves you might not have seen is not got to help that.

Every single character on a CW show needs a free CW skin and voice by their actor.

When they have to get the actual voice actor likeness rights, voice and mo-cap work, that's going to cost more money to do and is not going to be free.

That super is fucking amazing.

They wouldn't need mo-cap work. Just the voice and likeness. Honestly, I just need Wells-Flash, CW Barry, and Todd-Zoom for me to be sated.

He looks good, I like the new moves they gave him. Hopefully they fixed his natural combos so they fully connect on hit.

I feel like the stats advantage thing might only be a factor if you're a late adopter, or if you're switching to another character for the first time for that mode.

Let's not forget, you CAN get gear by playing single player modes too so you don't have to be a straight up level 1 with no gear should you decide to switch to another character. Also they have confirmed in one of those Playstation Access interviews that the matchmaking will match you up with players of the same stat/gear level as you in that mode.

The ideal situation would of course have been that abilities are unlocked and usable in ranked and tournament, but this also isn't AS BAD as people make it out to be.

They have a more detailed facial moc-cap system this time. It's not clear what would be needed to model it to closely resemble an actual actor.

We'll see I guess. I'm not sure if it a full release userabase will allow closer matches, but there were times in the beta where the difference in stats was obvious and an actual factor in the result, both for and against. It felt weird and somewhat unsatisfying to me.

Is it too much to hope that they actually got rid of that silly thing where the opponent gets up then falls down to one knee at the end of a match? Grodd looked like he stayed down after that super. That would definitely be a welcome change.

It seems like it might be a change that happened late in development. The first time we saw it I believe was at the end of Captain Cold's Super on Green Arrow in CC's reveal trailer.

And this is the second time we're seeing this. This was always a thing that ruined the "impact" of the supers and is definitely a welcome change.

Cries that Reverse Flash fucked with the timeline and killed his mother but does break the Sphynx nose and punches dinosaurs all the time...

ItÂ’s incredible how better represented The Flash is as a franchise in Injustice 2. In the first game, only Flash was playable (with a fairly disappointing move set). Now, weÂ’ve got an improved Flash, Reverse-Flash as a premier skin, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, and even a Gorilla City stage.

Unfortunately, pretty much every other property regressed in terms of representation.

Except for Batman who now as eight characters from his franchise (nine if you count Deadshot but he's not Batman-centric or known for being a Batman character) as oppose to the six the original launched with.

You know damn well something that can make them a truck of Ching Ching is not gonna be free

8 out of 29 ain't terrible.

Hopefully no Bat DLC to bring up that ratio of DC to Bat

Off topic: is CW Flash worth the watch?

The villains are fantastic.

But I personally just couldn't stomach the neverending CW drama. It felt like every episode was pretty much 20 mins of emotion sharing and 22-23 minutes of stuff actually happening.

Granted I only watched the 1st season.

Im usually not one to complain about Framerate, but it's pretty distracting that intros and cinemas are at a lower framerate than gameplay.

Bothered me in Injustice complete edition for the PS4 too.

Season 1 is really strong; probably the best out of all the DC series, although Arrow S5 is probably the most solid overall.

Season 2 is a bit odd; it spends the first few episodes, along with Arrow S4, setting up Legends of Tomorrow. The plot structure is very similar to S1, but not as interesting, and the villain sucks. It's by no means bad, and all the DC shows that year were a bit meh.

Season 3 is probably the weakest so far, mainly due to them dragging out the villain reveal, but it's still fun.

I'd watch season 1 at least.
