So is it four hours until blastoff? A few pages back people were talking about some timezone-related stuff with the countdown, so I don't know if it's accurate any more.
19 hours left here
yay countdown scripts

Says 16 hours for me. ¯\_(ツ_/¯
9h and 40 mins is the correct time my dudes.
I'm getting a creeping feeling that this is a really belated april fools prank.
Is the countdown ending at 10PM PST to sync with the normal store update time?
I agree with this, Bayo´s 1 weapons felt too much like small variations with extra effects, while in Bayo2 each weapon was more distinct. And I also agree that Bayo´s 1 arsenal is better tuned for gameplay.I think a lot of Bayo 2's weapons weren't that great (the bow and hammer are really not great and the bow/hammer/scythe are all poor aesthetic fits for the game) - I just mean that objectively the vast majority of Bayo 1's weapons used exactly the Scarborough Fair moveset, tuned slightly for differing speeds, damage levels, and charge effects, but fundamentally using the same animations (notable exceptions being the two sword weapons and the Lt. Kilgore tonfas), whereas I'm pretty sure just about every Bayo 2 weapon has a completely unique set of animations.
Agreed that Bayonetta 1's arsenal is better tuned for the actual gameplay - I'm just talking about the level of animation variety, I guess (so, basically, it's a question of asset quality - sort of like how Bayo 2's enemies have a much larger set of hitstun animations).
Don't forget Alruna, by the way!
Yeah that was my major complaint with Bayo 2 as well. You either can´t complete an air combo because the enemy breaks out of it or you activate Umbran Climax and kill the enemy before you can complete your combo. Specially after playing 1 it felt unsatisfying.Yep, Bayo 2 allowed enemies to parry out of combos basically at random (which seriously broke the main functioning of dodge offset), it weakened the basic Wicked Weave combo finishers, it took away the magic penalty for getting hit, and it made too much of the game all about abusing Witch Time and especially Umbran Climax (damage output was basically retooled completely around the assumption that you'd be working your way up to Umbran Climax, then nuking all onscreen enemies with it, repeatedly).
The first game's gameplay loop of evasive combat + chip damage to raise your Magic + successful wicked weave finishers for actual damage output + good gameplay allowing torture attacks which then give you angel weapons for crazy damage output got disrupted in the second game, where there's less penalty for getting hit and you do more damage basically ignoring torture attacks and just unleashing Umbran Climax (which, by the way, is totally overpowered and basically stunlocks everything onscreen).
I think Bayo2 is a better game overall, a more polished experience in every aspect and much more consistent than 1, but Bayo1´s game loop is actually better (when the game is not actually trying to keep you out of it). I think they´re both great games and if you enjoy one you´ll also enjoy the other. People playing 1 first will miss the longer aerial combos when they play 2, and people playing 2 first will get desperate when having to go through the QTEs and the long ass sections of Space Harrier and the motorbike. But ultimately if you liked one chances are you´ll have fun with the other as well. This was my opinion too. B2 gets a lot of points over B1 straight off the bat for getting rid of the "critical" QTEs, and just making them into flourishes for big fights like they should have been. It's a more technically solid game at the lower levels of gameplay even if it loses that high-level shine that B1 had, that's where the Nintendo influence shines through to have a stronger set of basics, better polish, and a more intuitive gameplay flow, at the expense of some of B1's excesses and a generally less compelling set of bosses (although Hell was awesome).
13 hours and no leaks?
I guess everyone knows it is for steam
Maybe there are no leaks because there is nothing to leak. Lol.
Has Sega even publicized this countdown anywhere? Did they tweet about it? Does anyone even care outside of a tiny pocket of fans on internet forums and reddit or whatever?
The countdown timer uses the time zone of your system. As Sega Europe is based in London, I'd go with what those in the UK are seeing:
![]()
If you change your time zone to a region where the countdown timer has already run its course and reload the page, you're slapped with a 403 Forbidden error.
Leave it to Sega to even fuck up a countdown. I am prepared for maximum disappointment. Ok I'm lying, this being anything other than Bayo 1 PC would ruin me.
Everything regarding PC is Sega Europe. It's 11th April 16:40pm here. This must be Sega America's doing for no way it it's by Sega Japan for this is late!
At least according to the thread, the timer uses your local computer's timezone instead of the correct timezone.Countdown timer's on 0 and even after refreshing it just stays to the timer page
Sega playing the longgame with April fools :lol

That's a bummer.Because it's set to your local time for some dumb from Sega, the actual time is 7h from now.
I don't know if you guys follow the SEGA of Europe Twitter, but this was posted almost a day ago.
