SEGA teases Bayonetta + Steam, countdown to April 11

A PC release is cool, but a little too late for me. Already bought the game twice and completed it multiple times, so I'm kinda done with it.

Bayonetta 3 though, I'd love to see that.

As long as we're throwing shade at Bayo2, I'll take the opportunity to mention the most unforgivable part of the game to me: the invisible cooldown on attacking out of Panther Offset.

The delay in attacking out of Panther Offset feels terrible. It causes your buttons to not function with no audio or visual feedback. It makes your actions sluggish and delayed. I used to think that they killed Panther Offset for balance reasons, but then they went ahead and put blatantly broken shit in the game like Rosa / Bracelet of Time / the whip boots. Bayo2 insists that you play with a linear Attack->Witch Time->Wicked Weave->repeat style, and making Panther Offset control terribly is one of their numerous inelegant ways of enforcing that. Compared to Bayo1, where Attacking/Moving/Dodging is a single seamless stream of actions that you're free to apply however you want, Bayo2's linear combat is dreadfully boring.

Credit where credit's due: Bayo2 has a lot of nice QoL features and is more beginner friendly than Bayo1. Those are good things. But if/when Platinum makes Bayo3, I hope that they have the good sense to not repeat the same blunders that they made with Bayo2.

On topic: I'm super hyped for tomorrow. If it's anything less than a Bayo1 release for Steam then I swear I'll be in tears.
Could the panther offset change have anything to do with being compatible with the Thunder Hammer?

I would die
laughing
if the 8-bit Bayonetta / countdown thing was simply an advertisement for a Switch collection.

You want Bayonetta 3, you have to buy Bayonetta 1 on Steam.

We will never get Bayonetta 3 :(

Bayonetta 1 for Steam, later released on PS4 with a demo for Bayonette, the turn-based RPG spin-off that will be exclusive to Scorpio (the demo is PS4 exclusive though).

The Sega way.

Since I already have it on Wii U, I'm personally OK if it doesn't, but if Bayonetta 1 comes to Steam, I'll be really glad for those who haven't played it yet!

More games on PC is always a welcome addition.

It launches in a special edition that includes an exclusive collector's beehive wig to wear while you play, but that version will only be available in one territory and the rest of the world can get fuuuuucked.

Still salty about the Yakuza 0 business card case edition :P

Do you think they will also release it in PS4 /xbox one as well as switch ? More money for them in the end that way vs just pc I guess

interesting...

[edit: yep, it sure seems to be counting down]

Other articles don't appear to have a hyphen/negative sign.

Yeah, I guess I'll buy it even though I have it twice on 360 and on Wii U. Hopefully it isn't full priced.

Why not 2!? Most people didn't play that one ughh.

We (should probably already) know why, lol...

Well, there it is.

I bet that sample soundtrack is going to be the same five tracks I got with the original 360 Collector's Edition back in the day :P

In for the climax of the game.
