"Platinum's last PC port didn't fare too well. When its recent PS4 action RPG Nier: Automata arrived on PC shortly afterward, the shoddy desktop version left many players feeling short-changed. "

Oh Engadget... Glad they are trying to have PC gamers' backs but not when they are wrong. The NieR: Automata PC version is pretty good and with an easily installed fan plugin turns into one of the tightest ports around. Derp.

If this thread was about a teaser clearly linked to a PS4 version and a bunch of people came in port begging I wonder how many banned usernames I would see?
The complaints about "port begging" are so much more grating than the platform speculation at this point. There is literally nothing to discuss in this thread except Bayonetta probably coming to a new platform. Why not talk about the possibilities of other platforms? There's no discussion to derail. Hell, let people waste their time debating whether Bayonetta 2 will be ported. Why should that bother anyone?

Edit: guess I'm a little late with this. Speculation is over.

the funniest thing is that it has better SLI support than almost any other recent PC release. I made it through ending A so far, with zero issues and great performance.

I'm pretty happy with this. My biggest concern is for it to come with a 'verse selector', so I don't have to go through that godawful 15 minute long Space Harrier sequence just to get to the game's best boss.

I wonder how mod support will be on this port. That and the QTEs will be the obvious things that will get changed.

I didn't like the port because it kept randomly causing my graphics card drivers to crash and then when they recovered the program didn't so I just had a white frame or the last drawn frame. Plus having to use a third party program or mod just to get it to show up fullscreen correctly is a huge minus even if it's a small download and a drag and drop installation. That shit should just work. I don't have to worry about my console games showing up fullscreen and actually using the full screen.

Yeah, it's hard to port to PC because PCs are different, but when a widespread problem is hitting almost everyone with a certain graphics card and almost everyone regardless of card is getting an issue where the game refuses to actually display properly in full screen then it's not a good port. Doesn't matter if it has good AA and AO implementation or the reason it is running badly for people is because those people don't actually look at the AA type and crank it up even when it's MSAA, if you can't get basic shit working right and it isn't just a rare problem then it's not a tight port.

No word on high framerate support worries me

I seriously doubt it. Considering how the game reacted to framerate drops on the previous versions as well as being run through CEMU (i.e. facing massive slowdown changing the timing of the game reacting to inputs) I honestly think there is zero chance this game will have arbitrary framerate support. Most likely it would completely break how the game handles inputs. Would of course love to be proven 100% wrong.

Yeah, well. DMC4 has caused my PC to bluescreen a couple of times as well but I still consider it the greatest PC port of all time. Obviously it sucks when stuff doesn't work but that's kind of the nature of the beast when it comes to PC. I of course agree that the game shouldn't have had any of the issues it does, but as they were all fixed quickly by amazing people I just can't take that engadget comment seriously. The very least they should do is elaborate on the situation, but I'm guessing the writer hasn't exactly done much research on the subject.

I mean you can go to the PC perf thread and try and debate people there if you want. Most agree it's a good port.

They're working on an official patch for about a week already and have database entries for different versions.

Thanks. So Engadget is being fair. Figured.

I have to say this deluxe business doesn't sound like much of a draw. I always figured it wasn't actually happening, but I've been secretly hoping that maybe this would come with a digital version of the Future Press strategy guide. The thing sold out well before I managed to grab a copy myself. :(

I had posted there a bunch. Durante says it's good so everyone says its good. Despite it having actual, common issues. Like, a bunch of people there had the exact issues I had. It wasn't hard finding other people with the same issues. Plus the OP had a huge section of fixes and things to do if you have problems.

Yeah, for me, the deluxe edition isn't big for me, so it's gonna depend on the price. If it's more than $20, I'm gonna wait a fair bit before picking it up. The game is definitely worth a penny, I've just already owned it twice.

Still, assuming the port is good, I'm going to have to add this game onto my to-play list again. Can't wait to see how far we can push the graphics. Native 4k support is a gorgeous thing to hear.

I'm calling 40 euros for the PC version. Doubt it will be less. Hopefully it won't be 60 though as some *coughgearboxcough* dumb publishers seem to think is reasonable.

Time for a game of Dota while waiting.

Edit: Holy shit the blue gradient tint on the Steam UI is very similar to the blue filter on the top of the screen in Bayo 1, I just noticed. COINCIDENCE!??!?!?! huehue
Edit: Nevermind at the price, yay!

Valkyria Chronicles on PC was $20 for a six-year-old game, and the Revengeance port was $30 less than a year after release. Bayo is closing in on eight years old now, so I don't think $20 is out of the question. I'm preparing for disappointment, though.

It's 19.99 EUR in Europe, so 19.99 USD is a given.
