Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Black Ops II is just $20 for Gold members. Does that seem high to people? I think it's a great deal, and I jumped on it even though I already own the disc. Digital is just way more convenient.

$20? Wow. So glad I took a punt on a cheap used disc from CEX a while back (I had it on PC originally).

Played 3 quick rounds last night. Got creamed but it was fun.

is there a name for playing CoD enough to remember Maps as "that one with the train station" or "the yacht" or "aircraft carrier," yet not able to remember which game it was from?

The rights are owned by Deep Silver so it's technically possible.. but yeah, don't really see much motivation if the main draw of the game is unavailable :(

For what it's worth, the hosting company that ran the servers said they were waiting for the ownership stuff to clear up.. so in theory if Deep Silver wants the MP to work again, they can make it happen.

15-20 is about how much it goes for good quality used discs, so yeah 20bux sounds about right
 
had to pry open my 360 to get my BO2 disc. Forgot it was the last thing I played before the power supply gave up.

worth it though. game is still fun and a nice change from all the boosting wall running stuff.
 
I never bought any of the cod games on xbl and yet Black ops 2 was in my ready to install list. It was great playing it last night but the cheaters are so fucking annoying. I joined a match where our team would die the second we spawned. I don't see how doing that is fun for anyone. The killcams were hilarious thought.
 
What ever happened to the idea that more Cave shmups were surely coming down the pipe since getting one meant all of them could happen? I'm thinking Deathsmiles prolly ain't happening.
 
Hoping for Fable Anniversary today. It would make this week incredible. I'm shocked it's taken this long for it to appear actually.
 
Today is the day we get Ninja Gaiden II right?..right? In all seriousness though, I ll be surprised if we even get anything today after the bomb dropped on Tuesday. Fingers crossed muh fuckas

Oh man this gets me teary eyed. So many good memories.

I have NEVER played an action game with a more satisfying combat, bar none.

With shooters you have so many alternatives. But NGB and NG2...god knows if we'll ever get something on that level ever again :(. It makes me very sad honestly.

It won't run*
There is a sequel coming and it will be a preorder bonus
There is a sequel coming and Sony have some kind of marketing deal which affects this.
There is a remaster due
They spread out the big releases to keep the hype going

In all seriousness I wonder if it will be Fable. Its on sale but not as discounted as it has bee in past sales (thought that seems to be the case with a handful of 360 games this sale)

I would actually love if LEGO Star Wars TCW went BC today.
 
I could go for Saint's Row 1&2. I think I already own both digitally.

I know I own them on PC but apparently the PC ports for the first two were not good so 360 BC may be the easier, less-buggy option.

True but now would also be the perfect time to drop a couple of niche games most people wouldn't care about. Barbie Horse Adventures type stuff, or maybe some old forgotten XBLA game like Wik and the Fable of Souls or Marble Blast Ultra.
 
Never played BO2 before so I bought it during the digital sale even though I haven't been a big fan of Call of Duty since 4. Yep it's more Call of Duty...

I don't see myself playing it much more after, but I'm still glad I bought it because it feels like I'm supporting the program as the publisher is getting money from this (right?).

I try to expect nothing every T and Th, that way (I can tell myself) I'm never disappointed, but damn, some Ninja Gaiden 2 or ToeJam & Earl would be nice MS (I mean, we already know Sega's on board with their retro downloadable games).

Not yet. There are still a few LEGO games missing, and TCW is one of the later LEGO games so maybe there's a few wrinkles they need to iron out. I'm hopeful it'll come at some point though.

I totally agree. We will never get an action game as good as NGB/ng2 again. So fucking sad.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Disney/Lucasfilm are holding it back for May 4th or SW Celebration.

Unless I've been mistaken all this time, Saint's Row 1 didn't have a PC port?

I've been waiting so long for it to be BC, but I'll take a PC version if it exists.
