Project scorpio to be unveiled at E3

Figured they'd have a pre-e3 event but this works too. Hopefully now that they've got the specs out there it means it won't be bogged down with dry tech stuff and they can focus on what it means for the customer.

Not sure what SC2 is exactly...

I don't know what to tell ya. These types of deals usually don't include even putting up PC footage if they have console contracts in place, even though that is far and away the place that will show off their games the best.

Just what happens.

StarCraft 2 decade of waiting, released in 3 parts. Sound familiar? Maybe I'm just cynical.

so if they're gonna spend a big chunk of their conference time on blowing the lid off the hardware, i guess that gives less time for game announcements

makes sense if you don't have lots of games to show

They have already done that. E3 now has maximum time for what people want!

I think that confirms $399.

Phil said it himself with the BC announcement, those genuine cheers and excitement are something he wants for Xbox more often. He will get that for Scorpio when he says $399. More than that, it will be a dull reaction.

They could still show plenty, and it still leaves the rest of the week open. If they did a showcase before this just for the console, or one game to go with it...it would be kinda lame.

Wonder what sort of trade ins we'll get.
The eb games trade in this Xmas worked out awesome, OG xbone and 50$ got a new one S and new controller. I would trade again if they're reasonable again with Scorpio

So they finally decided against a pre-E3 event in May. Makes sense, but the DF teaser and Gamasutra stuff now seems a little out of place.

"We're excited to announce that the Xbox Scorpio will launch on October 6th for $499."

Quote me.
Another episode of predict the future! I'll play..

November 17th, $399 standard SKU, $499 SKU with 1 year of Xbox Live and Game Pass included.

I think with the dev kits and associated documentation starting to go out to more and more devs, they wanted to get out in front of it to control the message and make sure the specs were released through their terms and not a leak.

It also means they don't have to talk specs other than 6TF in passing.

"Ultimately, we know you care most about great games, whether they be exclusive, multiplatform, independent or AAA. We are proud of the diverse lineup of games coming this year that will only be playable on Xbox One and will play better on Project Scorpio. We designed Project Scorpio to be the best console to play the blockbuster multiplatform games from our publishing partners, made it easy for recently released titles to upgrade to true 4K and for beloved, backward compatible titles to play better than ever before."

This year, only on Xbox, hmm?

So far I can't think of any, do they really have multiple exclusives lined up for E3?
If nothing gets delayed:

Forza 7
State of Decay 2
Sea of Thieves
Crackdown 3
Below
Cuphead
Ashen
Scalebound Rebounded

ok, the last one is wishful thinking

One thing that does worry me a bit is when Phil said they need to spend more time at E3 on individual games to focus more on story and not hurry through it. That coupled with Scorpio announcement leads me to believe they don't have many 1P to show so they're going to drag out the few that they have planned. I hope that's not the case.Otherwise 1hr would fly by with just a couple game announcements. The lack of focus on story was never the issue. The lack of a good story is. E3 is best when you show as little as you can from the new games, just an awesome 3-4 minutes of gameplay/cgi would be ideal to generate hype. Focusing much more time on an individual game, a mediocre one at that, is going to have a negative effect.

Yeah, these specs have been circulating for a while so it was probably wise to control the message before DF or others published them.

Well, no more Scorpio news (unless leaks) until E3. Two more months. Now I need some Sony news. We've had MS, and Ninty recently.

I really do hope somehow, someway Microsoft revives Scalebound in the future as it was Platinum's most interesting concept imo even with the mediocre demos. If they don't someone else should revive it.

How the hell is that PR? Last time I checked, people mainly buy multiplats and like having the most capable system to play them on. Xbox Live is most definitely better than PSN as well, especially in terms of their policies.

I said borderline PR. And I don't know what to tell you. I see you pairing a fairly objective statement (power set) with a fairly subjective one (what constitutes "service", is it the totality of the service, individual portions, the backend, the front end, the UI?) and than phrasing it in a way that reads like it walked straight out of some MS NPD PR or marketing spiel.

I called it like I saw it.

Don't think we will hear anything from Sony for a while, not until E3 anyway but hopefully they have been taking notes of what MS has been doing lately, so they have some good stuff to announce.

We know they already have plenty of games coming but I want to see them up their game with the services now. Change PS Now to be more like Game Pass and introduce Self Service Refunds would be a great start.

I simply said that multiplats sell the most and people like to play those games on the most capable system, which Scorprio will be. I also added that Xbox Live is a better service, which I think most agree with. But yes, clearly that makes me a MS agent. You got me.

So we know we aren't going to see Halo 6 this year. But wouldn't it be nice to see a teaser trailer of it playing on Scorpio? 343 really nailed the multiplayer in Halo 5. Now they need to get their shit together with the campaign.

I know you your a fan of MS and famous for fourth wall gifs lol! What do you Zedox is $399.99 feasible? What do think Panos told Phil price or publcity?

Feel free to point out where I called you an MS agent.
