I'm sorry but I believe I stated that his opinion is as valid as mine and that I wasn't trying to invalidate his point of view so I don't feel I was condescending at all as I framed my post under the context of making a purchase decision as that's ultimately what the question was geared towards. When making a purchase decision and pouring through reviews for a product, a majority is very much a factor if not 'the' factor to tip the scale in a decision process. In my Amazon example, I stated that there are valid reviews that reject the product despite a majority rating the product with a high score. It's not that his viewpoint isn't valid, my point is that when looking at a purchase decision for a product you already have interest in, it makes more sense to go with the majority than with the minority.
When the question is asked on GAF I'm going to say yes, it most certainly is a representative sample. If the one asking the question desires further metrics, they will do further research and pose the question in other forums and mediums to produce a larger, more detailed collective.
I can see how stating Tom Nook's opinion was in the minority and an outlier can come off mean and dismissive and if you took it that way Tom, I apologize but again, it was in the context of weighing a purchase decision, not an argument of philosophies. I continue to stand by what I said but wanted to clarify the context of my statement, it was not meant to be mean spirited nor to "suppress" opposing viewpoints. Just add more weight to mine
