Same. Speaker seems crappy. But I appreciate the gesture. All I want is for the activation process to be smooth.
 
My order is shipping with UPS today to my home address from T-Mobile, is that normal? I'd assume I'd get it shipping next week.

Edit: I conflated label created with shipping, for some reason I thought I saw it saying it was shipping today :(.
 
It's not the first time I would be getting phones early from Tmobile. They may "officially" release it on a certain day but you could be lucky to get it earlier depending on which warehouse it's shipping from, etc.

Getting a regular S8. S8+ is too big.

I think I'm just not gonna have a cover on this phone. I don't see how a cover can work with a phone like this without impeding and infringing on the phones infinity screen.

Werid, I just got my Verizon shipping notification for the S8, and it says it can't be delivered until the 20th.
 
God damn, those Note 8 leaks making me want to cancel my S8+ pre-order.

If you want it smaller then wait for the s9 which in all likelyhood would get these.
 
What screen protector (if any) are you guys going with? Gonna be my first phone with curved edges. Kept the nexus 6p naked but bought a skinomi wet application protector for the s8 since I need something that's for sure case friendly.
 
I'm going naked again. Even though a drop put a small crack in my S7 to the left of the finger print reader. You can barely see it, but I haven't tested if it's still water proof since.

I'd rather risk some cosmetic dinks to the design than ruin it the day I get it with a case, personally. Screen protectors hurt the optics of the display some. And that's the main reason I'm buying this phone. So if I break it, so be it.

It retains cosmetic while protecting your phone. I also got orchids gray and as u could see from the sampled photo, it still looks dope
 
i am loving the s8+. superior battery life to my previous s7 edge, screen is noticeably brighter and larger color range, no stereo speaker is a letdown (i played with a pretest version and i was absolutely certain it had it, i am pretty sure this is something that can be modded), so easy to hold. too bad i was given the midnight black and not orchid grey :(

He did 1 hour of Instagram streaming, YouTube for 2 hours, gaming for 1 hour, 1 hour of 4k video recording and then gaming again with the flashlight on till the S8 was dead.

The S8 lasted 6 hours 12 minutes in total, the S8+ still had 7% left on its battery.

I will say the black one looks good if you got a darker color. They are also at Best Buy in store usually. This one has more of a rubber grip than the S7 Edge one did. Best way to describe it is like a stiff TPU.

Only thing that sucks is they usually don't drop in price. I usually try and snag 2-4 cases or so when they have those Amazon deals.

I got the orchid gray s8+, I figured it would look nice with the clear. I was between that and the black case, now I'm unsure heh. Also, since you mentioned Best Buy I might cancel my order and just wait to pick it up there so that I can get points.

I still need to see it with the S8. With the S7, the black matches the dark screen and the frame and it looks seamless.

Ya I love tech21 cases, but you will most likely always pay full price for them. Have mine already, just waiting on that sweet s8+

I don't think he mentions resolution either. I'm curious about the Snapdragon. Also, is a wireless charging dock worth it for anybody that has one?

I also really want the VR as well.
 
Anybody use Android auto and Apple carplay? How does Android compare?


Carplay is nice but buggy as hell in my car. Might switch.

Aren't those performance based off your phone? Like it's literally just switching the phone to a phone OS mode and sending that image to your car.

A newer iPhone would probably fix your performance issues.

I had no issues using Android auto on a rental with a one plus 3 last year. I bet s8 will run well too.
