Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has joined the cast, and is meeting with Rawlins in this pic, so she's very likely playing a villain.

I want this show so bad and just be grimy unadulterated pulpy violence.

I'm really stoked for Punisher. He has always been one of my all time favourites. Him having no "no kill" rule makes him pretty cathartic to watch. There is no frustrating moments with him where he is like "I'mma let you live because I'm better than you and above this and killing you would make me as bad as you" only to have the baddie return in the future by killing scores of totally innocent people and then having Punisher having a self-blame arc where he laments how he could have prevented that from happening etc.

Dude, the hair needs to change. Need a military cut.

I dunno, I like this guy and I think he was a pretty good Punisher in DD season 2 but hes just doesnt have the physical presence I would expect Frank Castle to have.
Really? He was a beast in his fights, especially the prison scene. Absolutely nailed the sense of physicality IMO. Made it feel like angry Frank Castle was the last thing you'd ever want to meet

Rawlins looks very much unlike his comics counterpart.

I hope Frank takes his eye out in this one lol.

Rawlins, that fucking SNAKE.

Edit: On closer examination, he IS missing an eye.

I had my fingers crossed for this because the shape of the body armor would have complemented the top part of the skull really well. And I love the idea of the ammo packs painted as the teeth.

I guess you can't rule it out for the future.

But goddamn that Simple Jack haircut was the first thing that flew into my brain when I saw the picture, I fucking hope it doesn't look like that outside of that moment in the TV show.

Some things you just can't unseee.

Punisher MAX with Ennis is one of the all time greats, I have most of the run Ennis did.

Man that guy is a fucking genius, too bad we will never see the slavers, I've never gone from totally fine to legit shocked in the span of seconds while reading a comic until that arc.

Slavers is the Arc we deserve but it probably would be far too controversial.

I get what they're potentially going for with the haircut--a crazy guy cutting his own hair while living in the back of his van--but, um...that's not great. Maybe it's just an unflattering series of photographs? Maybe? Possibly? No...? *crickets*

The poster/artwork is damn great though.

This is why I've never understood the Punisher's appeal. The reader knows he is crazy, but still roots for him.
Anti-hero. A crazy badass vigilante is all sorts of cool. I love Punisher comics. I'm really looking forward to this show and hope it gets the violence right.

But yeah, the Guy Gardner haircut needs to go.

That was my first thought too, I fucking love Bradstreet.

I once contacted him do a large print of the cover of the first issue of Punisher Max, but he never replied to me. :(

Yeah, I love Tim Bradstreet <3

Tim Bradstreet and Jae Lee have been a huge influence on my illustration work over the years. I've learned alot from reading about their techniques... I still have a ways to go, though I'm sure the influences can be seen a little:

That reminds me, I wanna do a Punisher illustration sometime in the near future... :D

Joe Quesada. That's his artist signature on the bottom of the poster.

I like some of Quesada's work, but it never hit the things I like personally. Purely opinion on my part.

There's a difference between an anti-hero and characters like The Punisher and Dexter.

No there isn't. An anti-hero is just a protagonist in a story who lacks traditional heroic qualifiers. Even a villain protagonist is just a different kind of, or another word for, an anti-hero.

At the end of the day pretty much every superhero is breaking the law by the black and white sense of things. They are all vigilantes taking the law into their own hands.

Honestly the Punisher is a realistic character in the world which he was created. You have Men in Iron Suits, Gods and other Powerful people running around deciding they are the law and yet they never take the time to protect the little people. So one of the little people decided if they can do it so can I and I am going to stop it once and for all instead of the chicken shit back and forth.

"Heroes" like Batman are responsible for the deaths of every single person who dies at the hands of the people he repeatedly allows to cause mass destruction and death.
