How about just more tension per episode and enough of a high quality story to easily fill 13 episodes?

Couldn't agree more.. DD season 1 filled 13 episodes perfectly, but JJ and by far the worst offender Luke Cage were chuck full of filler, even DD season 2 suffered. I'm Hoping starting with Iron Fist that they tighten it back up!

I don't even mind filler, it just has to be more useful filler.

Show us Jessica taking on other clients and cases before getting Hope's case. Perhaps these cases could showcase some of her abilities, physical and investigational. They could show us why she enjoys being a PI. They could introduce us to people that will be important later on, when they could help Jessica figure out or obtain something.

Perhaps she helps a man who works for a concert venue, and then bribes a morgue worker or a university employee with tickets to a sold out concert, courtesy of this employee.

That would be interesting filler IMO. While it wouldn't contribute to the plot of finding Kilgrave, it would allow the show to avoid stretching out the task of catching him.

more like 4-6 episode seasons.

Oh please yes. I gave up on Daredevil season 2 and haven't watched Luke Cage and have lost my desire to see Iron Fist. I can't take the pacing.

The Defenders is supposed to be fewer episodes so maybe I'll jump back in. Hopefully with a team full of people that have things to do and fewer hours to fill it'll be better.

Nothing but praise for Ennis' MAX run from here also, same for Fury My war gone by thing.
It doesn't feel juvenile in same way as some of his other stuff.

Yeah, I wouldn't even call that 'filler'. Indeed they could go with more smaller stories only sideways related to the main story, or just a more fleshed out main story. What makes it so bad is that they have a very basic story, they more or less tell and back-peddle to do it again. Also the stuff the 'hero' does should not go so easily, but with more setbacks in each episode so there's tension.
Luke Cage was the worst here, he was an immortal superman and in several occasions he easily fought his way to the bad guy, only to walk away and do it again later.

It bugs me the way marvel unlimited is, theres a few punisher series i clicked on to read and the series is incomplete or only random issues appear on there like 4, 13, 21 or something like that, i dont know why they dont sort the content and app out

I don't think you actually watched, or paid attention to, Luke Cage.

One thing I hope is that Steve Lightfoot brings in some of that Hannibal cinematography and set design goodness.

Obviously not the same style as Hannibal, but I want to see beauty and carnage together. And fuck, you wanna give me scary gorgeous dream sequences in Punisher, fucking do it. I've been wanting that shit since I was 14.

No way. Even DD1 had this problem, just not as bad as the others. Afer Nobu fight the show pretty much grinded to complete halt.

That post didn't age well!
